How would this solve the issue of take-off, the insulation is overlapping with the studs. Is there a way to fix that? Without plug-ins of course.

Painful when you have lots of stud walls. It's very very basic like sketchup. The moment you throw in Agacad in Revit and Plus Spec in Sketchup, then productivity kicks in. Difference being you only fidle with editing wall once at the beginning. If you have to then add stud by stud in you are really doing things backwards. Just a thought.

Лучше делать все балками и раскосами затем объединять их в сборки. Такой способ хорош только для архитектуры.

The way we should all model walls is doing them by layers, like we would do in a real construction site, it would take some family content création but the benefits would be much greater. Compound walls have a lot of problems: graphical issues In junctions, wrong quantities...etc. Also, never allow revit to do automatic junctions as it will give unwanted results.

@@mehark doesn't that waste a lot of time and accuracy? If you change one wall, all the layers have to be locked and change the same way. And making doors and windows becomes so much more time consuming.

For good results this is what it takes, it takes a little bit more time but the result is uncanny. In a BIM workflow you can't proceed like what was explained in this tutorial
