    Great tutorial. For the disallow join i personally think its easier to just right click on the dot on the end of the wall you don't want to join and select the disallow join option.

    You can also disable the wall join by right clicking on the blue dragging circle while the wall is selected and disable it from the pop up menu

    Thanks Balkan, that was very useful. Please would you consider making a tutorial about the Create parts tool and how best to use it to tidy up wall/floor/roof junctions in complex wall assemblies? Many thanks, your videos are great and i would highly recommend to anyone watching them that you become patreon members as the advanced courses are excellent.

    Hi Balkan Architect! Thank you very much for all the amazing content! Could you make a tutorial explaining how to make a ventilated façade from scratch? Maybe with some nice corrugated custom metal sheets panels as cladding over a wood framing wall to make it more exciting! :)

    This is the reason in college here we draw all the walls seperately. So we don't have to bother with wall joiners. It's also just easier to modify them this way. But the disallow join tool is really usefull anyway.

    Hi Thanks for all your helpful videos!! I've got one question regarding the wall details.. I tried changing view to 'details' but still I cant see any wall layers (or maybe they are just super thick lines staggering together) Do you know how we can fix this?

    Hello. I have just watched your Wall hacks in Revit video. I wanted to understand how to move door frames with wall reveals. You appear to be mixing up 'reveals' with 'recesses'. You call a recess a reveal, whereas a reveal is the space between the outside face of a wall and the position of a door or window frame within it. Very confusing?

    You definitely can, but the key is managing your data so it can be filtered. Material takeoff can be done one of two ways; 1. Associate a volume parameter in your actual family, and drive it using a formula, then calculate total in a schedule (doesn't use material take-off - user driven amounts) 2. Use material takeoff, but use a special material to be calculated. Be very careful of double sided faces and edges, typically you may want to just 'paint' one side of the faces for take-off

    have a question for basic drafting and basic 3d is revit LT and autocad LT sufficient I am on older version of LT now

  • @Gumdaar1

    @Gumdaar1

    4 жыл бұрын

    Yes, when using both and keeping in mind the following issues: Biggest issue is Revit is not backwards compatible - an older version cannot open a newer versions file, a newer file cannot be re-saved to an older one & any exporting will loose some vector or family data, with the end user not easily knowing what is missing or corrupted. Additionally, AutoCAD LT will very likely have no 3d features, and Revit LT will have all 3d but not have any work-sharing features. At least it was this way several iterations ago. AutoCAD LT should track existing 3d; meaning it should import and export the 3d nodes - you just won't be able to manipulate them from inside AutoCAD LT and Revit LT should not destroy a central files work-sharing set-ups, it just wont allow an LT User to sync with any central model. WARNING! This section only applies to multiple users of the same Revit file... Other users have no easy way to know if an LT user has taken 'ownership' of the central file unless paying very close attention to the files file-tree dates... This means that an LT user must effectively own the Central Model that no one else can link -or- sync to while in use by the LT license. Once finished, the LT Model is saved back into its proper original central file location - where LT will auto-append the file name to "...LT.rvt". To save it back into a Central File, someone must use a full version of Revit, its new filename re-appended from the LT bit just added, back to the proper central models file name, using either 'save as' central or re-enable work-sharing. Obviously this removes any benefit of work-sharing a project so is not a recommended course of action. Having dealt with this myself, it has been know to introduce minor issues, so unless working in a very small corroboration where all users can communicate effectively and is necessary - it's best avoided all together.

    There must be an app or another program clashing with revit. Check the solution here for some ideas as to what it might be: forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-mep-forum/encountered-a-sharing-violation-while-accessing-revit-issue/td-p/5847295 Also is your revit licensed? Sometimes this occurs if you can't connect to a license server
