Thank you so much! This was so helpful! I was struggling so much with connecting the hose to the ends..
You saved my life!!!! I could not figure out the hose/connecter, thank you! The part that sucks for me is my window is smaller than the minimum length of the window inserts, so the directions say to cut it. Right, I'll just get out my skilsaw 🙄. But I am returning a Midea that did not cool as promised, so I nicked the short board they have 🤭I don't think they'll notice. It doesn't go all the way to the top, there's about 3 inches left open, but I have thermal curtains over it so I think it's fine. Cold room within five minutes!
have got 2 tips for anyone with this AC or other 2 hose whynter AC, the air filter carbon activated filter, just buy any carbon activated filter, cut to size, and while the AC is on attach it to the outside of the AC, where you see the filter mesh is, and the suction should keep it there!!! 2nd tip, don't buy hose insulator, get a bath towel, wet the towel a lil bit, then drape it over the exhaust hose side and you got an instant hose cooler, enjoy!!!!

Interesting…thanks for sharing. You do have any advice to why I’m getting negative pressure? The ducts are as short as possible with no blockage. I’m not understanding why I’m blowing out more air than I’m taking in 😩
Thank you so much! You are an excellent teacher. I only had to watch the video once and with all your little details, I knew what to do without coming back to this video. thank you again!
Great review. Thank you!
Great walk through!

Hello i have a similar unit. Its winter time in Maryland. Im using it as a heater only. Do i have to use the intake, cause cold air in coming in.
I have the same ac for 5 year, but now it’s giving me troubles. When I connected it ⚡️ it would start right away, but I can’t control it manually or remotely. The only way it shuts down is when I disconnect it.
Why am I getting negative pressure? Nothing is blocking the duct intake and exhaust, and the hose are as short as possible
Power draw in cooling mode? Noise dBm?
Does it condense water that we have to empty out regularly?
Why not discuss how to set up the hoses for use in the winter months for the heat pump?

The hose setup stays EXACTLY the same for winter months when used as a Heat pump. HOWEVER, my unit is AC ONLY it is not a heater. The heater version will most likely require you to have a water drain line installed. Here's the AC+Heater version: amzn.to/46W7hr4 (affiliate link)
Nice Video, I appreciate your enthusiasm...Can you tell me please?, since the outside air that is brought into the unit is used to cool the Condenser, than sent right back outside, How do we get fresh air/oxygen into the house??? Thanks 🌈🙏🌹💜🙏

The air from outside is sent into the room. To make air cool, they remove humidity (moisture). The humidity is turned into air molecules and sent back out of the room using the exhaust hose. But the fresh air from outside is pumped inside through the intake.
May I ask where is the water drain going? Do you have to manually take the bucket out and drain every couple hours? Tks

I didn't need to install the drain. Like most portable AC unit, there is plate in the unit that collects and evaporate off the condensation water. EXCEPT if you live in humid areas, you might have to drain it to a bucket or drink it directly outside. This IS the case for me when I use portable AC's with HEAT. The ARC-14S doesn't have heat.

Here's the manual that shows how you can manually drain IF you need to do it: www.manualslib.com/manual/1255371/Whynter-Arc-14s.html?page=13
You must have cut the plastic pieces because yours are much shorter than the ones i got for same model. I'm having an issue where 2 or too short placed vertically for window. And using 3 is too long. If I slide down, it'll cover the holes. Ultimately I'll have to cut one shorter. Another this is because the middle plastic slider is outside and top/bottom are inside, theres a gap at top and bottom for air outside to seep in. My window isnt deelly slotted inside to completely enclose over the slider, so ill have to run tape top and bottom. Anyways thanks for the vid
It is only rated 9,500 BTU (SACC) which is the rating for standalone air conditioning systems.

The ARC-14SH does.
I just bought one and it doesn't work the fan won't come on and they tell me I can't return it because I don't have the box it came in I've done everything they told me to try and read the manual more than once, I can't even find a replacement blower motor for it now I have a 500 dollar chunk of plastic just sitting in my living room

Buy another one and use that box to return the broken one

I bought one 2 years ago. It worked the 1st year and only worked half of last summer. It only blows out air from the fan and isn't cold air at all. Customer Service is not very good. My 20 year old whirlpool window unit works better. Sickening that I wasted the money on this piece of crap!
No portable has true 18k btu. Actual btu on the unit is 8500 and thats scetchy

Correct. The actual BTU for the portable units are much lower. 👍
