Just wanted to add the remote for this works fine , I’ve seen other reviews saying it’s not real good. The functions on the remote are adequate for their purpose.

Thank you. I have one coming in two days and having seen the heat that can come off of the exhaust hose of portable units I was planning to insulate it. Your tips are very helpful. I will likely cut a window plate to space the hoses as well and bugproof the ports... I'm also glad to hear the water seems to be properly vented out.

I've not had to drain the unit since I installed it. The water drains to a small pan which gets exhausted through the exhaust vent tube. I did suck out the pan with a wet/dry vac to see how much water was being taken out of the room and their was a pretty good amount of water in the pan.

I like your install with your hoses! Whynter seem to be a good brand, the key is you want an inverter compressor. Inverters are the only ones that are in low 40s dBM for noise. You must have dual hose, but if you can get dual hose in a hose, it is a little more efficient. Only thing better and they really aren't on the market yet is window units that use full 'mini-split' technology to allow you to heat in the winter even when it is cold and below 45 F. Most portables with heat won't work under 45 degrees F.

Nice, I'm thinking about getting one. I saw they got a few of them at my job and they work fine.

Very good review! I just got mine today, and I'm wishing I got it sooner given what we've had to deal with this past week. It's a great machine to have, also, given what I've read about more and more apartment buildings and HOAs banning traditional window ACs (as mine has), it looks like portables may be your only choice in AC where you live

I have the same ac for 5 year, but now it’s giving me troubles. When I connected it ⚡️ it would start right away, but I can’t control it manually or remotely. The only way it shuts down is when I disconnect it. What could be wrong?😢

I’ve never had that problem so I wouldn’t have any ideas. Could search the internet or contact Whytner

Sounds like a stuck relay on the control PCB if you are handy with a soldering iron and can find a replacement relay you can fix it!

May I ask where did you get the insulation that you wrapped the hoses with?
@naturecoastdave
Ай бұрын
The insulation wrapping I used is nothing more than insulated ductwork for heat/a/c. You can get it at Home Depot or Lowe’s. Where I live there is a lot of new homes being built and they all have a lot of scrap materials they discard, just picked mine up there. I can’t say this strongly enough, both pipes need to be insulated for the a/c to really work well.

Surprised no one is talking more about this. On my pay day I'm getting one my Apartment has been getting super hot lately because it's hot in Washington it hit 97 today and it was a nightmare. It's 11:48 and it's 84 still hot as hell. And I can't sleep with this heat

The portable a/c is a great option for cooling depending on what you are trying to cool.
