Roxon is very nice, but no way a Victorinox killer not even close. Victorinox has its own style far superior on the eyes, and top notch mirrored implements, Victorinox will always be in a class of its own.

@@maxlvledcI agree with your point, but Victorinox imo could stay complacent and still be superior its just one of those tools like a fine wine.
I have two swiss army soldiers knives , they are without doubt the best knife I've ever carried, especially for work. Love your videos man 👍
Got mine today, wanted something with a pocket clip, some good tools and amazing scissors for the summer. Love the g10 scales and overall the easy of use. Definitely gotta keep an eye on roxon for the future
I just bought this thing to have something with good scissors that's smaller than the phantom, and after receiving it today, the pics, and videos don't do it justice. This thing is beautifully designed, and mine was tight as a button. My 4mm bit kit from the phantom works perfectly on top the phillips head tool, and I've customized it for my needs. Top notch. I've owned lots of tiny EDCs as well as various victoriknox, leatherman, gerber, tools for backup at work. This is now the backup. Great job roxon.

Good stuff! What tool does it backup?
The scissors sold me! I putter in my garden a lot. These seem a perfect pocket tool for me for dead-heading and sniping; any simple cuttings, etc.
Love your videos. I just picked up a leatherman free P2 and have really been enjoying it. It’s my first plier-based multitool. My main edc is still my super tinker though. Can’t beat that thing

I’ve never found better multi tool than the Leatherman line of products. They last forever.
I have carried a SUper Tinker for decades, and the steel these blades are made from is forever. They never get any rust growing on them. It also fits the pocket real well, and the scissors are excellent. I trim my fingernails quite well with them, punch air holes in the bottom of my dogs food cans with the phillips, shave with the big blade and cut everything else with the small blade. The Super Tinker has been made and sold for many decades and the steel is, as I said, outstanding.
I've had the Roxon Phantasy for.. Oh it must be 8 years now. It's incredible. I use the utility knife/box cutter the most for work, but switch out to the clip point blade for day to day use. Only 2 issues, one of which is a good thing, and the other I have fixed. That being the lock on the liner lock where it touches the swappable blades easily grinds away from the friction of opening and closing the knife repeatedly. I can now hold it by the blade while its closed and flick it open, but it still stays closed and I dont worry of it opening by mistake. The other is that the 2 nubs for the locks to take the handle apart stick out juuust a bit from the handle, so they catch on stuff and I have often had one end unlock and mess up the opening action. I used to clip it to my belt loop so it was exposed, and catching on stuff. Now I've made a leather sheath for it, so only the bottom lock is exposed but is now no longer touching anything because of positioning. Highly recommend, if they still sell it.
That roxon is so cool! Never seen a multi tool with that type of design and I love it!! Great review!
When I met thr Roxon folks at SHOT, this is their tool I kept going back to look at! Great tool!
Nice review. I like the way the features / components were compared then the way the tools were arranged by cost.
i bought one ... i really like mine... i had wanted scissors and knife with screw driver but alternative to swiss army knife but less expensive then leatherman..... mine didnt have the play in the blade like yours did and it came quite sharp on all blades ..... thank you for what you do my guy it helps me make decisions watching yours among others presentations
I have the Roxon S501 (Knife and Scissors) and am pleased with it. I also have a Victorinox Super Tinker. I put the Roxon KS2 in my wishlist alongside the Leatherman Free T4
Awesome video man one of the best comparison videos I have seen on pocket friendly multi tools. Great job.
Got a ROXON S802 Phantom and absolutely LOVES their replaceable blade system. It's just amazing. I also own Roxon S502 Phantasy which can use the same replaceable blades! Mind blowing!
*In 2014 at Menard's, I bought a Leatherman Wingman for $9. Menard's stopped carrying Leatherman brand and had a deep closeout. I went back the next day and bought the last one. I love that it isn't too big, it's ergonomic and has a pocket clip. I prefer that over a belt holster. I think I got the deal of the century.
My favorite edc ever, is my 111mm victorinox forester, i got over 20 other multitools and knives and some other victorinox, but the one that goes to my pocket is my 111mm victorinox, just perfect
Received mine in the March sale and thankfully didn’t have any such play or looseness in the blade (or anywhere else). A really solid little item. The tweezers are located inside the scissor handle that you open up. Nice little effective use of storage. Been carrying and using it quite a bit recently and the steel is holding up rather well. Definitely a step up in these Chinese multitool materials - the polishing and general wear is much improved from the previous bead-blasted Roxon tool steel.
Very interesting offering from Roxon! I would really love to see these types of tools offered with non-blade options as well, or the ability to replace the blade with something else (easily). I always feel like the blades on these tools are just barely "good enough" and I will typically just go to my pocket knife. It would just be great to have another tool instead of another knife at times, especially when trying to keep my pockets light.

So true you know if Gerber made an Armbar drive with locking driver and no blade I'd buy it in an instant as there are very very few affordable bit drivers out there. Carried with a Spyderco (in my case the Urban as my country doesn't allow me to EDC a locking blade) and Knipex Cobra XS that would be a great little toolset.

A most interesting, thought-provoking video! This Roxon KS2 reminds me of Ruike M42, though they make a smaller M32 for about a tenner less. I'm in the UK, so perhaps Ruike isn't being sold in the US. Still, it holds a great many tools similar to your Roxon. I suppose it's a matter of price and requirements. At home one of my daughters finds her Roxon scissors and blade very useful. I think she said of paying about £20 for it and 2 years later the scissors still cut well as its blade.
I bought the LM Surge for the scissors (mostly). These scissors sell it for me. I bought the LM Style PS for the tweezers and the scissors in a smaller package - and this has the tweezers. My other fav tool to have out and about to get things done is the awl - this one looks pretty damn good. Think I'm sold! Great review thx.
Roxon now makes an elite version of this tool with D2 steel on the blade for $38.00 and it also includes the bit set. I just received it, and it looks like a winner!
My T4 free's blade took a lot of getting use to. It was much harder to get it out 1 handed than most knives I have ever used. After using it for a while I got use to operating it one handed.
Your EDC knowledge is very helpful. EDC is important. I can't see anyone not carrying something. Good choice. Starter
I love these knives And the multi tool this company puts out. I love how the blades can interchange and if you break a blade. You can always just carry extras to either replace a broken or Double blade. Also the designer of the block song must be left handed because I always have to move the pocket clips to the other side

If you think about the system they use to deploy the tools, and not only on the blade, it will make sense why the pocket clip is where it is. The pocket clip would render impossible, or way difficult to use the push/pull for deploying or unlocking the tools.
I got the Roxon KS (knife scissors) years ago and I have to say it's one of the best most practical designs on a little pocket tool I've ever seen. All it needs is a steel quality upgrade and it's a lifer. It cost me about 18 USD? Clearly I got it for the lols. But it's been so handy in my household. Gets used all the time to open packaging so much so it's literally got a spot on a shelf by the front door. No quality issues on it like this. And a completely unique design that no one else is doing. Definitely check that out!

I have had three of those. When you get a good one it's outstanding. I lost my first one and had to replace it the second one was total crap, no quality control. The same after the one I bought to replace that, so after two attempts I just gave up and figured they'd given up on quality control.
My first knive was a Victorinox pocket knife. And that’s almost 60 years ago. Unfortunately I lost it over the time but not my trust in that brand. Today I own a bunch of of them. But quite frankly, one would be enough😉! I love them!
Pocket clips on the same side as the blade can help with reducing/eliminating hot spots. My real concern with the pocket clip placement is that the blade isn't resting against the rest edge of the pocket, so it could theoretically open in pocket if the retention isn't good enough
Thank you for this thorough review. Two things that bothered me about the featured tool were that the pocket clip seems a little too small and all those screws. I just imagine that at least once a month I’d have to tighten all the screws up.
Cool tool, please do more reviews like this!😊
Roxon is making some of the best multitools ive seen in years... I wish this exact platform had a set of pliers and maybe a fire steel and this would be the GOAT...
2:05 Not a great start...I totally agree. Thank your sincerity! I appreciate this video especially for the very sharp enlargements that highlight both the flaws and merits of this Roxon.
While I own and really like Leatherman tools that I purchased when I was single… now being a single income family man, future purchases will more than likely be Roxon.
I have two Roxons. One has just a blade and that excellent pair of scissors. Also one that has interchangeable blades. Quite impressed. I'll look for this one. I do already have a collection of SAKs and LMs, but I think the new Free stuff is an expensive joke. I like the Juice series.
I saw these I didn't really think twice about it I know this video is older but thanks for the info... I'm still trying to catch up with all your videos😂
Interesting, new brand for me, so many brands out there coming up with something to compete with Victorinox and Leatherman, its good , because it shows how good this two brands is, the more you know how confident i am stuck to just these brands, i wear Victorinox in my pocket, use it every day, my Leatherman is in my inventory toolbox.
Victorinox is still the #1 pocket knife brand in my opinion. But I am also emotionally invested. My dad gave me my first SAK when I was in my early teens. This was 30 years ago. I still have that knife. Still, it’s good that other companies come up with new ideas. Even if you are Victorinox, and have 150+ years of experience and expertise and a eich history: That’s no reason to rest on your laurels, no matter how well deserved they were.
I got an expensive Leatherman over a decade ago...The tool opened out to use the pliers which was good...Unfortunately they broke...I think the pliers were made of a soft metal and one side broke off in use...The grip teeth also wore down quickly on the pliers which I noticed...I was done with Leatherman after that sub-standard and expensive tool...I have used Victorinox for 40 years with no issues other than the plastic grips needing to be re-glued...The tin opener design is the best I have seen in pocket knives...It's really good...I bought many of them over the years as gifts for friends and family members...
Useful and informative. I'm going to consider the Roxon.
Excellent review! Will check out your other content. Thank you
I've been debating about getting this but I'm not sure. I've been carrying the Leatherman Curl and Bond. I love them both the slip joints are very sturdy. HUGE Leatherman fan but I like the look of the Roxon KS2 for a plier less tool. Rectangular and boxy. Bigger isn't always better. I find the Wave/ Curl style scissors very handy. I think something in that size would be much more suitable for the Roxon KS2. The G10 scales are nice. I like Victorinox but I'm a huge plier fan. Never owned a Victorinox Swisstool but really find the pliers, the best feature of my Leatherman Tools. The T4 is good but not for $70. My Bond is much more appealing in the $60 price range, for the money.

The curl is very very goof. I would carry that Instagram
This is a cool knife, I did just buy a knife by True that has the exact same features except mine has a tanto tip and the knife opening is extremely smooth and easy to open. Love the vids man
Fun fact: there's a pair of tweezers in the scissor handle! I haven't used it much yet, but I quite like mine. Can confirm, awesome scissors, which was a big part of the draw for me. Mine actually came with zero play in the blade; maybe you got (un)lucky with quality control, or if it was a common thing, they may have already addressed it, or maybe I got lucky lol. The blades thumb stud could use some more texture. I find myself slipping off it and bumping the knife edge frequently. The Phillips is a little too small for #2 screws, and I'd like to see a design like the Victorinox inline phillips, but the way they squeeze a 3D head in there with the awl/reamer is excellent. I'd rather see a large flathead than the openers, and maybe a larger file or something in place of the saw. Just not sure I'm likely to have this tool in a situation where I'd need a (tiny) saw.
I just ordered one of these and should get it tomorrow. I own a lot of other Roxon tools and none have disappointed me! I actually own three out of the four tools you show here. They all have great tool sets. I love the G10 (if that is what it is) on the Roxon. As far as weight goes I really do not care. These are small tools and the slight difference in weight will make no difference to me really. Thanks for the video!

It is G10 for sure
I'v EDCed my Swiss Champ since 1985. It has saved my bacon many times !
I love the tool selection. I often find with victorinox is the combination of tools that I actually want is never in one unit, it's always like 3 tools I'd never use and one or two that I love. I'd love company to offer a choose your combo.
I do love the look of those scissors.
My first impression was how it looked similar to the Lockdown series from Gerber. The Lockdown Driver and Lockdown Pry both have similar shapes and tools to this Roxon. Personally I very much enjoy my Lockdown, especially out in the field or in the shoot house. So this Roxon is definitely worth a look.
I love my Roxon KS2. I love the form factor and the quality of the tools. It's THE BEST multitool at its price point. By the way, the tweezers are hidden in the handle of the scissors.
I edc the free t4 because I really prefer a locking blade and use almost daily the large flat driver. Have to say I love the scissors on the roxon. The only negative I see on the t4 is the scissors. I’ve tried to tinker with mine to improve them with no luck.
Pretty neat, man. I really dig the shape. Too bad I've no use for a pair of scissors
I like the square boxy look of the Roxon.
Usually some companies will put the knife (when it has a thumb pin) toward the clip so it sits facing the inside of the pocket and prevents accidental openings
I just bought x2 Victorinox Farmer X multitools. The scissors of Swiss Army are brilliant, and I find the reamer very useful.
Roxon is a game changer into budget segment
Nice review and probably going to buy as the clip and knife are just where I want them. I wear a pen on my right front pocket, so my knife goes in my left front pocket. The way this clip is set is where I move my clips to, so I don't get stabbed accidentally.
Victorinox has been around and perfected their tools for over 150 years. I've been using their pocket knives since 1960. They are the "Rolex" of pocket knives and you can't go wrong with them for quality and price. I've tried others and NOTHING matches the quality of a Swiss Army knife. They also last forever if treated with care. I still use one of my older models which is 40 years old. It's still like new and I take it with me everywhere.

@@maxlvledc I watched the entire video. When you had to tighten the blade on that Roxon, I almost stopped the video. You proved to me by the end of the video that the Swiss Army knife is the way to go. Especially since Victorinox offers dozens of different models depending on your needs.
Still rocking my M3 for the scissors.👍🏻
There is a tweezers.....go look for it! There is also a (sold separately) hex and driver set that attaches to the philips, makes for more versatility. Pretty well thought-out piece of kit.
Cant beat the feeling of the swing lock on the Leatherman free
Amazing $20.00 knifes all day long that's a great find. GOD-BLESS.

Roxon has improved quite a bit with its innovation, just need a little bit more on quality control for it to compete with the big boys. Nevertheless it is affordable & functional on a budget. Cheers mate.

Intressting, have to try them for a longer time. I use my victorinox in second generation, so my victorinox works every day since 1951. Hard challenge for roxon.
Been carrying mine for a couple weeks in off time Scissors have a removable screw as opposed to the ks Really like the action Feels light but haven’t had any issues yet
Nice! I am not in love with the rectangle shape, but this is good. Big fan of the deploying nub. Those scissors are sweet, I like the tool set, good catch with the pocket clip too. And the price is right. I think I'll get this one. Is that a MagConnect on that SAK? I just got two this morning! :D
Thx a lot, it does help me in choosing..
I have a different Roxon with just the scissors and a blade. The scissors are great to start out, but get messed up fairly quickly. I've had mine for about a year and have only used it to cut cord and occasionally prune tomatoes. Nothing that should be nicking the scissors, but they are are starting to not cut well due to all the nicks. The blade doesn't hold an edge very long either. So both are probably made of fairly soft material. Better to pay a little more and get something that will hold an edge. The blade on mine also has that play you showed. I've tightened everything up and still it wobbles. Yes it's cheaper in most cases, and the scissors are nice for a while, but I'm looking for something better...
I got an older roxxon before people started reviewing them, I carry the mini knipex pliers and a knife so I wanted something primarily with scissors and roxxon delivered. The knife on the multitool I got sucks to use, but it has similar scissors and they are amazing. I was using them mostly to cut electrical tape (because tearing it off can be difficult/dangerous in some scenarios) and have since switched to carrying klein sheers, but if I had a use for the other tools and I just wanted to carry one thing - roxxon is very compelling.
Hi, lately Roxon has great designs, just needs little more refinement. I know in US you can get cheap SAKs second hand, and if you are patient you send it to Victorinox and they'll make it new, that's what they've done with my Handyman, free of charge, I just paid to ship it. And I found it 20 years ago, didn't buy it. With my Free P2 I've had same issue with opening the blade, so I've loosened the spring and it worked. I've sold it now and just got MX Clip, I love it. Cheers 👍
Those scissors are amazing!
Roxon has really stepped it up lately.
friggin great review...thx
Holy crap that thing looks great
This might make the knife a bit too long, but I'd love to see they put their exchangeable blade in this tool.
I like the shape and deployments
Its fun listening to knife people making up scenarios where they can use the knife even though those scenarios will never happen.
Roxon makes some possible Leatherman competition budget options with their (modular!) multitools, but swiss army knives are so light, good looking, inexpensive and high quality. Just straight up classics. I'd put a washer in the main blade and carry this, but I'm thinking I'm content with my victorinox huntsman or s18 which is like a Wenger style field master.
the pocket clip orientation is very good for people of left-handedness orientation
Great video. 👍👍
From a few videos I've seen, Roxon looks like the Sofirn of multitools. I ordered a different one (M3?), but I might get this one too.
The bladeplay is a no-go. Got a Ganzo multitool which had no issues at all !
Man this is cool!
I actually think the scissors on the Roxon almost have to be more functional, just because of where they’re placed, length of blades, etc. Also the locks on the blades are a selling point.
it'd be cool if pocket multi tools did the up or down or left or right pocket clip thing too... and proper thumb stud/flipper tab/spydie hole opening with ball bearings... also what would be cool would be a normal pocket knife looking multi tool.... eg a Spyderco PM2 that looks like a PM2 but also has hidden multi tools within it...
I’m 60 years old I have a victornox that is 50+ years old and it’s been used believe me . I have many different ones in my draw. I will tell you how much I enjoy these tools. I give them to friends and family as presents. They are a true tool and I have seen many people say what you claim and they have all failed. It’s just another knife that no one will know in a couple of years.

I mention the longevity of vic as well, hard to beat
Nice review.
Hello, The tweezers are on the handle of the scissors Very good review and comparison with other multipurpose knives
that looks pretty cool. Could you use a dremel on the scale to make some space to get better access? or is there metal frame that prevents that?
When buying a new knife the last thing I would not want to do is start by tightening up faster on the knife . That wobble on the blade, you pointed out about washer placement. Curious why they're own qualified inspection team would miss that. But interesting knife I must say.
I had to click to see this VictoriaKnox killer! It's a big shoe to fill in my opinion just because I think Swiss army knifes are some of the highest quality in a knife multi-tool you can get.
Looks like it would be easy to make some homemade scales for this
The only gripe I have against my swiss army knife is that the blade doesn't lock. If it did, it would be the perfect knife. I've had the blade close on my before (granted, I wasn't really using it properly), and got cut pretty bad. That's the main advantage I can see with the Roxon. But my vote still goes with Swiss Army.

S18 is a vic with a locking blade. I like mine quite a lot.
Now they have a KS2Elite with a D2 knife blade, 5Cr15MoV scissors and 1.4116 for everything else, in addition offering a bit extender for just 43€. For the lenght of the handle, the blade is quite short, but I love its shape, can easily grind it to a scandi, my outdoors favorite. Not sure, how well you could drill a hole with the reamer, bur the saw is ok and the scissors are OUTSTANDING. BTW: if you find it cumbersome to deploy the blade, notice, the scales are thinner there, you can easily make bigger cutouts with a Dremel rotary sandpaper wheel
Victorinox is super high quality, no contest with any of the others in quality of the steel, guaranteed.
Victorinox is still the most reliable tool. The scissor is so precise and it can trim nail so well. No other multitool scissor can do that. I still carry other multitool though with SAK, nextool flagship mini just because the small plier is really handy for a bit more leverage on daily basis work
Thirty second in the wobbly blade ended it for me. Thanks for saving me so much time. Still got a like.
Please also add metric measurement for those live outside imperial measurement country to easily imagine the length of the tools. Great content as always.

I get it..but the conversion can literally be done in 5 seconds from Google. If I remember I will.
The blade on mine was perfect out of the box. but after some days i was able to flick it and it's very satisfying now. The irony is that i don't have any knife that use washers and now i think i like washers more than bearings. Also, you missed the tweezers because they're hidden in the scissors handle.
