Compassionate Boundaries: The Art of Setting Boundaries WITHOUT FEELING GUILTY (3 step framework)

Compassionate Boundaries: The Art of Setting Boundaries WITHOUT FEELING GUILTY (3 step framework)
The 5 QUESTIONS:
What is this person asking me for?
Do I have it to give?
Why is it making me uncomfortable?
Would I be overextending myself?
If I say yes to this, what am I saying no to?
The purpose of this video is to help you if you’re someone who finds it difficult to set boundaries, because you’re empathetic, you don’t want to be selfish, you don’t want to hurt the other person - YOU don’t want to be a bad person essentially, right.
This is something I’ve struggled with for a long time and Im not perfect yet but getting better at it so I want to share with you what I’ve learnt so far and seems to be working quite well both in terms of effectively setting the boundaries, not feeling guilty, and not hurting the other person.
The lens with which I approach this personally of course is spiritual. My personal north star is the Buddha and when faced with a tricky situation I often ask the question what would the Buddha do?
Which basically means how can we approach this with the right view, the right intention, and take the right action - not hurt anyone .
In this case the idea of course is striking a balance where we don’t hurt anyone but also ensure that we are taking care of our own needs.
It’s understanding the difference between where we’re being selfish vs where is it genuinely good for us to be setting boundaries!
