What if you have questions prepared but you either asked them already during the interview or they answered them already during the interview? This has happened a few times where I get to my prepared questions and I just have to say "Well, I had some questions prepared, but it appears you have answered them all" Is that acceptable or is that a red flag?

Hi Bill! I just want to let you know that your videos helped me a lot during job search and attending interviews. Because of your tips that are easy to follow, I just recently received a job offer from a multinational I.T. company. I am now on the onboarding process, and my start date will be on 31st May. Thank you very much for setting up such an awesome channel like yours. Kudos from the Philippines.

You did a fantastic job, Squidward! Congrats on the new job!!
When I interviewed for an administrative position at a community college last month, one question I received was: "What is your record of attendance and arriving for work on time?" Any jobseeker who is interviewing will probably respond that they are always on time. What would be the best way to answer the question.
Today I had a telephone phone interview in regards to a broadcasting job. Yes, I have experience in this position. The interviewer was asking questions like normal. I sent him my broadcasting resume. He looked at it and ask what jobs I was doing in between I told the person. This is what gets me is they asked “What was your longest job ever?” I told him Target in 2011 3yrs. Previous interviewers never asked me this question. This person wanted to know length of my previous jobs not on that resume and wanted to why I don’t work there anymore. Not asking my broadcasting experience. My last broadcasting job last year was only one week and I quit. I was overwhelmed from being unemployed since Nov. 2016. I regret what I did was wrong sabotaging myself. I have mental problem which at times hinders me on losing jobs. Can you tell me why they were asking question “What was your longest job ever?” I am in my early 50’s and very ashamed on telling my situation. Is there a way you can make video regarding have bad job records and people with mental illness?

Congratulations, KP! Well done!
On point no. 5 and 6, I was in an interview last year and I wasn't hire because I think I overcooked on these 2 points. I researched 2 key members from the interviewing team (the COO and the HR Director) to a point they were uncomfortable. When I was offered to ask questions, my questions were directed to them to explain key core values of the company. The reason I asked those questions is to try to align them to my principles. Well, that didn't do me any favour.
Thank you for all your videos. Now I have something different to express in interview. If possible please make videos on office work and communication to deal in office, which help to get promotion early and impress seniors.
Thanks for the great review of important issues, organizing oneself. I found myself ‘rising’ up to meet the next interview-inspired if you will.
Thank you! Your interview videos helped me get an offer in a competitive industry! 🌟

number 6, I had a questions prepared but the interviewer answered them already without me asking. So when he asked me if i have any questions, i answered No. He was surprised of course.. but at the end imof the interview i mentioned that i had some questions but you already answered them at the beginning of the interview. and.. i got the job.

Thanks for the tip. I was wondering if it was okay to bring up a role model during an interview. Let's say someone asks you about why you were interested in the company or the industry and you bring up the fact you were inspired by someone who entered the industry and you would like to follow their foot steps. Thanks!
Excellent video. So we'll explain.
Could you make a video about informal interviews, such as dress, and what to expect? Along with this, discuss in-person vs online interviews? Thanks.
Thank you!
Thanks Boss ❤️👍🙏 😊
Please do a video on the ATS systems and ATS w/AI. Also about "fake job" posting that companies post to get around H1B reqs so they interview a couple people then hire H1B. A LOT of companies have done it for decades. There's also a large issue on linked in with "fake recruiters" just data mining you that has gotten prevalent enough I've started seeing "fake recruiter" warnings on companies sites now. LinkedIn is FULL of them. So knowing what to look for and asking them would be helpful.
Good video!
Hello Sir. I really appreciate what you're doing for the community out there, thank you! Have a couple of questions please as re-entering the job market. I've seen from various other people's advice that you shouldn't mention anything over ten years ago in your CV itself as far as work experience counts. How far would this be true? Secondly, because I ran my own co. as from 2006 to 2019 and only shut it down because of health issues that have since been resolved, how do I portray this experience to interviewers? Hoping you'll respond to these. Very best regards.
Excellent content.
Thank you so much

Hi Video idea for you. Bad myths that are actually good, for example not being afraid to ask to come back to a question, rather than thinking on your feet in a rush and saying something that gets you eliminated
great videos.
hey thanks for the videos. informative!! About searching interviewers beforehand on linked.. I just feel like what kind of impression is that going to put because the linkedin gona show "who viewed your profile" .. so it ok ? or would it give a "stalking" impression :D
is it a good idea to ask an hiring manager for a list of potential questions/topics to prepare for in advance for an interview?
I just got a job offer yesterday, but am expected to be interviewing for two more companies today and tomorrow. Is there a polite way of asking for more time to think about the offer without getting the offer rescinded?

That tip #7 I think was really big, as I think that may have cost me a position once because everything likely got to the final decision, but they had me in conversation "selling myself" vs. selling my skills like the candidate that got the position. That's the difference between the those with a job and those still looking! But I ain't one to gossip... .
My problem is that the work i usually do is seasonal so they use a company to "hire" you for 3 months then you move on to the next job etc.
I have always had questions prepared, tons of them But before we come to the "do you have any questions" they answer all of them withougt me asking and i am still left just with "no"
How to answer job termination?
What if the hiring manager keeps poking on negative things?
I appreciate this content.... And you as a person... Each interview I get ready for I review videos by you... They always help me to be the obvious choice and help to increase my base pay

I was more expecting something like a dress code, be in time or do we initiate a handshake?
@alamc200
2 жыл бұрын
In a corporate office environment, for both men & women always wear a clean pressed suit, dress shirt & tie for men, clean polished dress shoes. Look sharp, well groomed & polished. During Covid19, I would not advise initiating a handshake. And of course alway be on time, 5-10 minutes early is fine but not more, if you're earlier than 10 minutes, you may want to wait outside, or in your car, or the lobby of the building for a few minutes then go up/in.
Got a JOB few a hours ago :) THANKS!

So how do you turn the "Tell me something negative about your previous boss or coworkers" question into a positive?
@iamthegame09
3 жыл бұрын
What I'd say is "there were times when my boss or coworkers wouldn't agree when it came to decision making which made my job harder and stressful. However, it was only when I would take a step back and realize that not everybody saw the world my way that it helped me consider other possibilities to problem-solving which often helped make me a better coworker and more efficient employee"...in other words, you're turning the perceived negative experience into a positive learning experience.

First time to this channel. If you owned a business and it failed, does that work against you in an interview and also how would you handle the objections about the failed business?

This is a partial answer to that: kzread.info/dash/bejne/lKhq25SLdczJibQ.html If possible, I wouldn't mention it to a recruiter - if it failed, they usually view that as a negative - even though it ISN'T!

Hi Bill, I recently interviewed with a multinational company and it went really well but I didn’t get an offer. In their words, “You performed incredibly well and ticked all the boxes but unfortunately, we are not able to extend an offer at the time as we simply don’t have enough roles for all our high performing candidates. However , we would love to speak with you and discuss opportunities should our hiring numbers change”. We did speak and I got a positive feedback from them but I don’t know if to stay hopeful or the chances of something coming up, although I did thank them for the time and mentioned I would be exploring other opportunities and would also keep in touch. What do you think please? I really wanted and still want this role with this company.
@karentaylorsmells
Жыл бұрын
I probably wouldn't have said I would be exploring other opportunities as that doesn't make them think you want to work for THEM. If a couple of months have passed why not reach out back to them to say how much you enjoyed meeting them and have any other positions come up? (Make sure you've check their careers site or they will think you're being lazy.. if there's something there ask if they could make time for a quick chat about it?)
Just interviewed a candidate who told me what was wrong with many former employers in great detail. The lack of appropriateness and professionalism was glaring. And I never asked one question that would lead to this kind of disclosure. DONT DO IT!
Me: In a stable and good paying job, with no intentions of leaving. Also me: Binge watches job interview videos hahaha
What do you think of this? If we get rejected, should we ask by emailing the HR or recruiter why we were rejected? even with saying "... May I know my flaws, so I could better myself?" - Is this action appropriate? Thank you n advance for your response.💖
