have you tryed fermenting? we soak millet (?) for 3 days so there is a chance for yeast to come in. the grain takes of first day in the substrate. third day it's running like crazy

That would triple our equipment requirements and we are already tight for space. It absolutely does start to ferment especially with the tanks not insulated where it cools down enough. If you keep it insulated and hot it won't ferment.

Great work as always! One question. What sort of vibrater are you using? An where can one source it? Blessings from norway, Andreas

When you talk about the pesticides possibly sprayed on the grains, wouldn't it make sense to rinse them off first instead of soaking them in it & possibly absorbing further into the grain?.......Love the Googly Eyes.👀

A wash wouldn't be a bad idea, i could integate that into the grain cleaning system. But either way, we are dilluting it.

Why is there coco coir in the grain spawn? Water retention?

Helps with moving moisture around, gets the myc ready for bulk sub. We use coco coir or sawdust depending on who the client is.

@@MyersMushroomsFarms interesting. I'm a fan of not cooking grain, just soak it and process at pressure; but as you said, moisture distribution can be an issue. I could see coir being beneficial, surprised it still helps with cooked grains though! Super cool. Would you tell me your coir to grain or coir to grain+water ratio, if you have it handy?

@@Brownkid422 not much, one 5 gal bucket of fluffed up coir per 250lbs of dry grain
