I follow you since 2016, i was 16 years old at the time, you had been my first and biggest inspiration in my journey in mushroom farming. I was lucky to find one of your videos in the main page of youtube. Thank you for that. You are a true legend. Greetings from Tandil, Argentina.

Lab days were always such a relaxing time for me, threw on the headphones and got to work. I miss doing this work.

Why not wearing disposable gloves during this process?

All that you have, and no Bacti-Cinerator....at least you have jump suits, and funny hat....oh what about the face mask for beard, and breath? lol Nice wall of 4 flow hoods.

Torches are faster. Don't need a mask, we never use them unless we are training and talking a lot. You couldn't hear me as well for the video too.

@@MyersMushroomsFarms "Torches are faster" ...yet it took 2 hands, and the possibility to create a vector of contamination (no gloves were worn). I mean if you're going all in with clothing and all for a clean room...just saying. I also like your sticker system with the labels....much faster than a sharpie when doing production.

@@john-smith.Wearing gloves doesn't make your hands any cleaner, I'm not actually touching anything they can cause contamination, only the scalpel tip. Normally I'd leave the torch on but in this case I was just doing two plates but either way that torch was born and lives in the cleanroom and is wiped down daily so it's really not a contamination vector at all.

@@MyersMushroomsFarms Gloves cover your hands, and you shed skin. It's the same concept as putting on the jumpsuit, and all. Your gloves are clean, or rubbed down with alcohol, your hands have cracks, and hair...also stuff under fingernails. You could continually cleaning them with alcohol, but that would not be good for your skin. I'm just saying your going all in on keeping it clean, but you skipped a few improvements. This is microbiology, and you should think about it at that level. I mean no disrespect, and clearly you are successful....I'm just adding some points, as by the looks of this video, you are striving to keep contamination down. One last point is I bet your not the only one that uses that room, and they may have different ideas about contamination as well. Yes...leaving the torch on would be the best practice...I agree.

@@john-smith. Random internet spectator here. I work in cybersecurity and recognize this as perfect being the enemy of good. All of this is basic risk management, there is no virtue in perfection here, only to manage waste in time and attention and product. This looks like a very good blend. At some point you hit the noise floor with contamination and any more effort is wasted. This is a long way of saying i hate gloves lol.
