I love to see your videos.. l want to ask something my dad is a stage 4 pancreatic cancer also and we are trying to avoid any sugar except natural sugar from fruits but the problem is something his blood levels is too low so doctors told him to eat sugar candies to help to boost his blood sugar level quickly .. what do you think it can be done in this case too avoid this kind of sugar?

Hello, best wishes to you and your dad. I would not be eating sugar. When you say his blood is too low, you are referring to his blood sugar being too low? And how do you know this - does he wear a continuous glucose monitor? I would eat low GI carbs like organic buckwheat, organic brown rice with vegetables. Does he have any other issues like diabetes or is something else going on? I've had low blood sugars in the morning when I've fasted overnight and been wearing a CGM and I've found even a cup of ume tea has brought them back up again. I think it's worth spending a bit more time thinking about why he might have this because that would really give you the answer on how to deal with it. X

@@SheDaresLIVE Hello, thank you for your kind wishes. Yes, I meant his blood sugar is too low. He does have a continuous glucose monitor, which helps us keep track of his levels. He has diabetes, so managing his blood sugar is crucial. I appreciate your advice about ume tea; we'll give it a try. Thanks again for your insights.

@monicahany463 i dont think you need to do ume tea specifically- although they have done studies on ume that it is good in conjunction with chemo (www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5292383/). I have met quite a few people who have told me they resolved their diabetes by improving their diet. If you have pancreatic cancer obviously your pancreas is impaired - is your dad on creon? I think that's important as it helps support your pancreas in both ways it functions I think x

The other thing I'd have a think about is... I had to stop taking (self prescribed off-label) metformin and berberine at a certain point after I'd been doing the diet for a couple of months because I noticed it was causing too big swings in my blood sugar. If your dad is on diabetes medication query whether he really needs it still? Maybe consult your doctors? X

I’ve switched my breakfast around so I eat many different nuts and seeds and reduced the amount of oats I eat. I actually don’t avoid arginine and methionine because that is impossible but instead rely on inhibition. I do avoid glutamine through my diet. I started out increasing the protein to increase my stomach acid and noticed this reduced my burping and generally improved my digestion and absorption of other nutrients.

I’ve seen acres of it growing in Belize and I was desperate to get the tea which is how it is traditionally taken and supposed to be most effective but I couldn’t get any. I’d like to try it as a tea.
