When I got the call to see if I could/would move to Virginia last year to move in with my 95 year old aunt so she wouldn't get put in a nursing home I didn't hesitate. Moving from South Texas to up here was a big step for this country girl! I have been so blessed to be up here. I have never seen so many beautiful blooming plants, trees and even the weeds bloom pretty. Being in drought for so long down south we basically had brown, crispy brown and black where there had been a fire. I got to teach my aunt about thrift stores too. Sounds like we're kindred spirits. Praying for all y'all.

I watch you ladies all the time. It is sad for me I lost my mother 9 days before Christmas 😢 its the hardest thing I have ever done. She was my life and my world I love the closeness you guys have reminds me again of me and my mom ❤

I do too! When i first heard the rain hitting the car windows, I instantly relaxed into almost a dream state. It always did that to me when I was a little girl w/my mom driving home from my granny's.

FAITH is Fighting Abuse in the Home. I used to work as an advocate in their shelter. They are a wonderful organization that helps women and children that have been abused to rebuild their lives. Shopping in their thrift store helps support them.

It’s so funny to me that I am 60 but what draws me to your videos is that you remind me of my momma . Mostly in your ways, the way you care for your home and family, cooking and gardening and such..I think just your strength of character and your kindness. You even have a mixing bowl like one she had, when I see you use it I am just remembering her cooking for us. I hope that’s not to weird but you have no idea the measure of your impact, thank you for sharing your life in Wilson holler.

I'm from GA....west suburbs of ATL...but spent a lot of time in N GA. 🥰 Love seeing "home". We called those small magnolia trees "Betty Magnolias". Some places, they call them Tulip Magnolias. I always liked "Betty Magnolia", though, because I had an Aunt Betty that I loved. 💖

I use place mats for my nightstands and my coffee bar. They work great. What a nice road trip.

I’ve heard it said in the Appalachian Mountains of PA “if the fog’s in the hill, you’ll get your fill (of rain), but if the fog’s in the holler, you won’t get a swaller (swallow…meaning no rain”. So far, that ole saying has been true. At last in my experience, it has.

Sadly, I cannot set foot in any thrift store due to the horrific smell. But - I do love to peruse antique shops - lots of treasures to find there. Even with the hard rain... Still a beautiful view with windingbroafs and trees. I love going to thrift stores also. I actually recently found 3 silver dishes and I only paid a couple of dollars a piece for them. And when I looked them up one of them is from the 1800s and one of the others is from the 1920s and the last one was from around 1940s. Turns out that two of them that have marks on the bottoms showing who made them are worth quite a bit of money. People overlook silver... because real silver tarnish is so much and they don't really look that pretty. But all of that tarnishing means it's been around a long time. There are treasures to be found. My only problem is that when I go to thrift shops or antique stores or even flea markets I want to bring everything home with me😂😂😂 So fun... Thx for lettin us tag along😊❤️
