Thank you so much for making this tutorial. I have never been happy with my one by one rib and I’ve been knitting for a very long time. I’m so happy that I found your video. My sample came out excellent. I can’t wait to use this on my next project that requires one by one ribbing!
Omg I've been doing exactly that! I was wondering if it had a name 🤣! Thanks for sharing. It's visually the best ribbing by far and if you use left hand picking rather than wrapping/ throwing you will fly through the work 👍 It works in the flat as long as you keep working through the leading leg too!
Thanks very much Joe. That is great information and very easy to understand!💯
I've never been satisfied with my 1x1 rib for exactly the reasons you describe. Can't wait to try this on my next project. Thanks!
Really detailed and useful - thank you!
Thank you for this very informative tutorial. My ribbing often turns out sloppy. I appreciate your tips and the visual comparisons of the various ways to apply the techniques. Plus, I like your voice.
Super helpful and very clearly explained! Thank you😊
This is wonderful...thank you SO SO MUCH for doing this!

Any time! I figure if I ever want to learn anything new, I just have to do all the research for a video tutorial.
Check out Arne & Carlos twisted knit. Twisted knit, Norwegian purl. I'm comparing now.
very interesting, all the tutorials I found only wrap the purl stitches clockwise, not the knit stitches. I would like the work to be tighter so I will try your method with wrapping the knit stitches clockwise as well. Thank you
Actually i love this video . I looking for this information and i finally found it in your videos . Hope to present more useful vii 😍😍😍👏👏👏👏👏👏
Yeah I'm tryin 1x1 with both stitches twisted. Arg! Check out Arne & Carlos twisted rib. Norwegian purl w twisted knit. The knits very tight. Would look better 2x2 prob. I can't decide. I'ma combination knitter. I am gonna train my hands to do either
Great tutorial. Would this work with 2x2 ribbing? Thanks!

Yes, it works with non-ribbing too...the basic principle is that it takes a tiny bit less yarn to make a stitch when you wrap the yarn clockwise instead of counterclockwise. So the stitches made with a clockwise wrap are a bit tighter than the counterclockwise wrapped stitches.
What happens if you use this method if you are NOT knitting in the round?

You'd be knitting into your purl stitches and purling into your knit stitches if you were knitting flat (not in-the-round) so you'd have to change the wrap direction of your purl stitches on the wrong side and adjust for the twisted legs of the stitches at the same time. Difficult to describe in a comment, but relatively easy to do.

LOL! That’s right - difficult to describe in comments- I say hard to visualize your comments! 🤣 I’d love it if you make a video how to do it. 😃

@@cormonose I'd suggest finding a video on "reading your stitches" until I can come up with a video showing this method.
Da braucht man 1 jahr um eine Socke zu stricken. Habe niemals jemanden so umständlich stricken gesehen🤦🏻♀️👎

For the non-German speakers, here’s the English translation: “It takes 1 year to knit a sock. I've never seen anyone knit so laboriously.”
