We had a bunch of Brits at our FOBs... Never anything but tea drinkers for us... We pounded coffee by the gallon all day, meanwhile these schmucks had to make tea a whole thing you had to sit down and have... My unit was security for the Corpsman , the only interaction with a Norwegian batt we had was collecting and extracting a casualty.

@@Mortenostad The language is very beautiful. I especially like when women speak Norwegian. Like a song. And while Danish is very similar, but its pronunciation is very different, it is more rigid. Swedish seems to be melodic too, but still it is far from Norwegian. And this is the only thing that makes me learn Norwegian, I just want to listen to and understand Norwegians more. Although I do not live in Norway. But this is the pronunciation, I'm in love with it.

1:24 appropriate reaction standing next to a 40 mm with no ear protection, simply turn around and laugh about it, maybe norwegians just so chill about the whole ideal, maybe their viking genes deleted the warfare fear. Quite literally, their batllaion insignia has a viking longship on it, not to mention the valhalla warcry.

They're in extreme poverty because the government treat them like European colonists treated Africans and Native Americans so yeah. No education, ignored and supressed, deliberately excluded via corruption from voting... and so forth. It's a perspective one might not be completely lacking of sympathy or understanding for. Basically: The task unit's task was supposed to help the Afghans being able to govern themselves, but they just don't want to help themselves. It's obstacle at every turn. So the whole situation is in a deadlock.

You are suposed to shoot at the general direction of the enemy because the enemy has no way to know if you see them, it's just returning fire. If you just stay still waiting untill you actually see someone they will close on you and take the change so surround you. You need to make them believe you know where they are until you actually do.

Don Anator you can either dump all you ammunition or wait patiently to be killed, it's your choice. Don't forget that shooting in the general direction is just a temporary mesure, just keep the enemy guessing while you reposition in a safer place or locate them. You should just shoot 2 - 3 bullets each time, not full-auto the entire magazine, so you can shoot a couple times and take a look because maybe you actually hit near an enemy and they may retreat/reposition and then you know where they are. There's no point in discussing this this people have been training for years, they sure know what they're doing.

Don Anator because you know nothing about combat the number one rule in a fire fight is to gian and maintain fire superiority . pin the enemy down and flank him

Because the enemy was dealt with and too far away to shoot them, plus the guy walking around was a tank driver and had a gun on him.

Cta2006 you are right about that it’s not a competition, however I do believe that, troops who faced far more intense contact deserves a bit more respect! And also, there is a big different between ordinary combat units and special forces, the Danish special forces has also been to hell and back.

I doubt it Fritz. I'm quite sure your grandpa would have more respect for them than for his own grandson who has a need to play tough guy on the internet.

Your making a fool out of yourself by saying that. And also, your grandfather would probably slap you for being so disrespectful towards other veterans.
