I have the new Colt 6920, with a vortex red dot. It’s a great shooting weapon. I carried the M4 in Afghanistan pretty much the same. Great guns and enjoyed the video. Keep up shooting

Bought a 6940 a number of years ago, glad I did! Beautiful rifle and never an issue.

The colt 6920 is a true classic and will always be one. Never selling mine.

The first time I fired an AR I knew I had to have one. Very accurate. Thanks for the great video sir!

This is my favorite gun. Even though I have never owned one. I want this and a glock just for target practice mainly. But the M4a1 is a classic, I have always loved the look of this gun.

He never ceases to surprise and amaze me just how dam accurate he shoots off hand. Been watching this guy for years. Still get excited when I see a new video. Hickok45🤘

I am switching my AR-15 over to iron sights. I hate dealing with a battery and having it go dead because I forget and leave it on. This is a nice simple setup that is tried and tested.

Arizona Slot Wins Romeo 5 with automatic shut off (made by Holosun). Battery lasts and lasts. But I do have carry handle irons on my latest build and honestly it’s my favorite to shoot.

This was my first firearm. Love it so much. I put a KAC handguard, ACOG, Grip, new stock, and pistol grip on it and it is perfect in every way. Such a smooth firearm. Never once have I had a malfunction or issue with anything.

Got a deal on a 6920 SOCOM a few years ago when Wal Mart got out of AR market. Glad I did .

Love my magpul le6920, I believe it's circa 2013. Crazy they're classics/collectibles now

It could be considered so, but nah fam that carbine is a workhorse for sure. So long as you keep sand out of it.

What a beautiful gun. I like the new grown up "Lego" type AR's where you can build them to whatever you want BUT there's just something about the old colts with the holding handles & built in sites that are a piece of art. Beautiful looking.

Gotta say it's a blessing growing up in the south and with the ability to be able to conceal carry. I remember the days when my father would teach me how to use a shotgun when I was about 7-9 years old because he would travel for work regularly and he would count on me to protect my mom and baby brother. Many people would think that as "bad parenting" but it's the best parenting. Now I know how to defend myself when someone feels lucky or frisky and if there is a weapon available I know how it works and how to use it. THANKS DAD!!!

He is such a good shot his rear site was set to 500 yards and he nailed everything. I love this rifle and hope to own a colt one day.

I bought the colt ar15 government years ago for my wife. We use it for deer hunting. She’s 5’ 3 so the telescoping butt is great for her short arms. Great rifle!

I’ve been wanting to say this for years and maybe someone has already. You guys should invest in a boom mic. The volume spikes up greatly when the camera comes in for a close up. Then when backing away it lowers. I hate to adjust the volume when watching at night time on the television when everyone is asleep. Thank you for great videos 🤙🏼

These are legitimate battle quality AR 15's. I own quite a few. When I had my FFL, I sold tons of these here in So Cal. My clients always had the biggest smiles when they acquired these from me.

Colt AR-15 is iconic. I hear people screaming there are better. But there's nothing like a real Colt AR-15.

@@ckim6400 A good AR, properly assembled with a well functioning gas system and otherwise all of the correct parts considering the barrel length ad GS length will always function perfectly with ANY factory ammo. The Colt I had was back in 1983. They were still undersizing their had ports. This was a severe problem with the M16s as well. An m16 would function well only if it was perfectly clean, sloppily lubricated, the magazines were perfect and the ammo was at least mil-spec govt or hotter. Thankfully, these issues have been fixed over the last 15-20 years. Probably because smart well intentioned AR manufacturers (not Colt) figured out how to do it better.

You got me convinced to enroll at SDI. I carried a colt M16 in Iraq. I love my custom built tactical machining AR.

I'm getting old & senile! Was tidy-ing up my storage area & found not one, but two NIB 6920s under a pile of stuff, that I forgot I had. Great firearms- extremely reliable!

Nice! I love my Colt A4 and Colt Law Enforcement Carbine (6920 for the law enforcement)! Never had any problems with those or my Sigs 516/716, DDM4V11, and LWRC! AR-15 platform has been great to me!

My first and only AR is the Colt LE6920 and i have had it for a long time. Only changed some furniture and added an ACOG and it’s my go to rifle. Of all the years I have had it only one malfunction and that was due to the mag. Great rifle and I’m glad I have one especially since Colt has stopped making them.

I got the Colt CR6920 late last year, I've been wanting to get one for a while

Hickok doesn’t miss a shot on ANY of the firearms he reviews. Wisdom with all the humbleness.

I have a Colt LE6920 actually picked it up from Walmart about 2013-14. I’ve since put a Wilson Combat 2lb trigger in it. It come with Magpul furniture and flip up sights. Pretty awesome weapon.

I've carried an LE6920 for a patrol rifle since 2005. It has never lost zero and it shoots great!!

I’m from Britain and I went to America for a “vacation” as you would call it, and I shot an ar15 when I think I was a little kid I loved shooting the other guns. As well as the ar15 😍

Thanks to all of you that have kept this thread active while patiently awaiting my reply. As for why I like my Colt ARs the best. It largely comes down to nostalgia. I've owned my Colts much longer than others, Colt is the classic manufacturer of ARs, and I like the older aesthetics of my Colts. On top of that, all of my Colts have been solidly put together and have had thousands of trouble-free rounds shot through them. An ultra high end or custom rifle would probably be objectively better than a Colt in every way but they wouldn't be the classic, archetypal example of an AR that the Colts are.

I bought the same gun around the same time. It was purely by chance that I got it. You see, I’ve always been an AK guy. I got the Colt I guess you could say as a retirement present for myself. I saw in a weekly flyer that Dunham’s had some other kind of AR-15 for sale, but at the store the salesman convinced me that the cheaper one wasn’t that good. As it turns out, I chose the Colt because I was familiar with that rifle from my Army days. For a long time, I thought of “tricking” the gun out with all new Magpul furniture, an optic, etc., but finally decided that the Colt had a charm all its own, and should be preserved as is.. Honestly, I didn’t know until recently how significantly valued this particular brand was for the platform. I assumed they were pretty much all the same (some more “designer-ish” than others). It was sheer luck that I picked up a 6920 at a big-box sporting goods store. To satisfy that modern itch to have a rifle replete with all the upgrades, I’ll pick up a Saint, or Ruger, or something similar, and load that one up.

Nice, I have that same exact 2012 spec LE6920 with the Rogers super stock and side mount front sling swivel. I also have the SP6920 MOE-B with the standard front sling swivel and Magpul MOE furniture. They're perfectly identical except for the furniture, sling swivel, and serial number prefix. The SP6920's were only made for a short period of time though, so you don't see nearly as many of them. Glad I never got rid of mine either, or the pair of AR-15 A4's I got 2 or 3 years after that. I was surprised when they announced that they would no longer sell them to plain ole lowly civilians.

CNN be like: "it's a fully semi automatic that fires a powerful bullet at 300000 rpm and has a high capacity 30 round mag"

Bought my first AR, the Colt 6720 in late 2014. It's basically the pencil barrel version of the 6920..1913 rail on the receiver. Mine is marked AR15A4 LE. A really nice built AR. Following Hickok's reviews..my next AR was the DDM4V7 .. about 9 months ago. Really nice M4's. Be sure to see Hickok's 2 reviews on his M4V7 !!!

I too acquired my first LE 6920 back in 2011, two others since then. I feel kinda cool when I strap on my Colt mil-spec .45 ACP and go to my local gravel pit and quell a water bottle insurrection with ballistic tipped .223. Explosively entertaining.. The .45 is for dealing with recalcitrant sand filled coffee cans, they simply can't be reasoned with. Then a good cleaning and I'm ready to patrol the perimeter again tomorrow. Then if I want to play state trooper I grab the colt King Cobra .357.

I really love mine. Handloading 75gr Hornady Match works great. Excellent accuracy! Impressive for a factory standard MSR.

I never bought a colt they were always to expensive .. I went with a Panther Arms 5.56 . Also own a 300 Blackout I built and am building a 308 Hybrid .

Was issued one as a Fed. Served me well. Light, fast handling, accurate, all you needed and nothing you didn't need. We eventually put Eotec sights on them. 😁

Glad I bought my Colt LE6920 green anodized receiver M4...I paid $1,179.00 for it. Im glad I did. Love this rifle. Thanks for sharing your videos

Hey Hickok, love your videos. The 6920 is still available. Just bought one for around 1450. A little pricey but wanted the classic. People are saying that Colt is outsourcing a lot of the internals but the gun fits like a glove. Came with pop up iron sites rather than the site/handle set up. Best, Papa C

I was just shooting my LE6920 today! I swapped in a CMC 3.5 lbs. trigger, but that's it. Great rifle. Wish I could buy a second one without having to sacrifice a limb!

I sent about 8,000 rounds through mine so far, and it's still smooth as when it was new. I clean it after I shoot (usually 200-300 rounds at a time), and I always want another AR to compare. I actually sold my first 6920, bought it for $950, sold for $2100 (thanks Obama). Bought another one a few months later for $1050, and a bunch of ammo.

@alan sullivan I agree you can build a nice rifle. I have a friend that has built at least 3 himself. However, I wouldn't buy someones project rifle. At least known brands, and stock-like rifles are very easy to resell, and they sell quickly.

I bought an Colt M-4 a few years ago, but I've also assembled a number of ARs in different calibers. I agree with your opinion about the AR market. The Colt was more expensive by far, but the performance was no better. I even had to replace it's "crunchy" trigger assy. BUT: It is nice to see the Colt insignia on the lower, and for that alone, it is worth having one!

I heard many in Vietnam would have preferred the originally intended M14 or M1A1. The larger caliber was more capable of passing through foliage.

xcalibrx No. The m1a1 is the civilian version of the M-14. Both shoot the 7.62x51 (or .308), which is significantly larger than the .223/5.56mm.

Picked up my 6920 today. Brand new from Colt. I am very fortunate to have gotten one of these from my local gun shop. Can't wait to fire it. Love what you guys do.

I like that Handguard and Carry Handle on this. Sets it apart from a lot of the newer ones.

I have a Colt “M-4” LE6920. I lust over a Daniel Defense, but honestly, the Colt does everything I need it to do.

By far my favorite looking AR. Classic CS style

Had an AR15 while I was in the IDF, all stock no fancy shmancy mods or tactical nonsense, never let me down! Such a nice ergonomic lightweight design, only downside is that you need to clean after each operation or once a day as oppose to the Galil which can be left unattended for months and it'll still shoot with no jams. But its not a down side, the lightweight design worth everything when you need run or walk long distances

What do you know, I bought mine in 2012 also!!!! I really love it, especially that particular butt stock. But I’m going to rant a short while by saying Colt, since the Clinton administration, has repeatedly demonstrated a spirit of capitulation and very poor business sense. From losing the US military contracts to FN to discontinuing the Python (finally back!). They NEEDED to have never restricted any of their sales, they always had a sufficient civilian customer base to remain viable. If anything, Colt needs to discontinue government sales and focus on the civilian market once more. I love my SAA also, now I want a new 1911...

Your 6920 model is my favorite version of the AR family. Wonderful rifle and they will only get more costly over time. You could probably sell it for TWICE what you paid for it right now!

I’m from the UK. closest I owned to this was a BB gun. I try and shoot guns like this every time I’m in the states, there’s just nothing else like it. More of a Kalashnikov guy myself but man I’d do anything to own one of these legally.
