    Incredible gun. Very impressive job by Colt. Hopefully they continue improving and come out with even more variants of the Python and Anaconda.

    @@TerryBenton that would be awesome. I just saw an original Colt Python on consignment at a local gun shop in royal blue, they want over $3000.00 for it. It looked too beautiful to shoot.

    I ended up buying the 4.25" Saturday from a vendor at my LGS. I put seventy rounds through it to get a feel for it. The rear sight on mine doesn't move very much at all, and the tiny lock-down allen screw never loosened. Did Colt improve it a little bit? I did order some wood grips from Altamont but I haven't received them yet. I also hand polished it with Mother's for a couple of hours. The barrel was noticably brighter than the frame and cylinder when I brought it home. It looks beautiful now and will look even better when the wood grips come in. You were the number one influence in me buying this Anaconda and I thank you for that.

    They did make an improvement. The one in this video is not mine. I have since bought a 4.25 inch one for myself. I have it in a video. The sight does not move. Congratulations on getting it. Cool gun. I am also waiting in grips. The ones I ordered are on back order

    I am curious if Colt has ever addressed the issue with the poor fitting rear sight? I don't care though. The gun is beautiful and every review I have seen raves about it. When the times comes, this gun is the one I will buy. 4" or 6" is the big question. I can only afford to but 1. Going to be difficult to decide.

    I borrowed this gun and the site fitment was terrible. I just got one of my own amd I included it on a couple of videos very recently and the site fitment was the best I have seen. It does not wobble inside the frame. It is still a terrible site but at least it fits better. I hope this helps

    If it’s anything like the Python, it’s junk. Don’t get me wrong, I love my gun and wouldn’t trade it for any other but I had to get Wilson Combat rear sights right away. The front sight might be next.

    Hi Terry, always enjoy your presentations. I finally got an Anaconda. I was watching another presentation on Anaconda they said that the Anaconda comes with a pic rail. Mine did not. Did your 2 Anacondas come with pic rails ? I purchased the 6” model, my buddy 2 day ago purchased the 4.25 version. I will be putting a Colt Pic rail on it and a scope and will replace the rubber grips with some very fine silverblack checkered grip with a rampant horse on each panel and colt medallion . I do not see the QR code on you buddy’s Anaconda, did you remove it for him ? FYI - now I have the original Gen 1 Colt Anaconda with it first was released in 1990, I purchased new, and now have the Gen 2 Anaconda. I have a scope on the Gen 1 Anaconda Ricky from IBM

    I was thinking about getting an Anaconda in the future after I buy a 6” Python first but I was debating on getting the 4.25” or the 6” Anaconda. Never shot a 44 mag before so I don’t how well I could manage the recoil on the 4.25 compared to the more heavy and longer barrel 6”. I’m leaning towards getting the 6” though. The 4.25” looks just as good if not better and it seems to have a better balance. What do you think about the differences in both sizes?

  • @TerryBenton

    @TerryBenton

    8 ай бұрын

    I do not think there is that big of a difference in the recoil between the 2. The anaconda is a pretty hefty and heavy gun so it tames the recoil some as compared to my lighter Smith and wesson 629. It is hard for me to tell you which one I like better. I own the 6 inch and it looks awesome. I have a video on it. After seeing this 4 inch I think I want one of them also just because of the looks. So in a nutshell but whichever one you think looks better. The recoil should not be the deciding factor.

    The six inch will be more accurate. The four inch more concealable and easier to handle in close quarters. If your target is 35 meters away, get the six inch, otherwise get the four

    I own a 6" 2021 Anaconda, but I am seriously considering trading for this 4.25" model. I use a Trijicon SRO red dot for optics, so there will be very little to no difference in accuracy by going to a shorter barrel. I have seen and looked at this new 4.25 Anaconda and the balance is perfect and has an outstanding trigger. I think the 4.25 would be easier to carry and use for an all-around woods gun or hunting revolver over the larger 6 inch model.

    That is a handsome gun for sure. Do you think the s&w 29/629 is more durable? I mean most ppl buying the colt won’t shoot it enough to really test its longevity let alone just buy it for investment purposes & keep it in a safe. For instance right off the bat we see a clear weak point being the sights & most ppl will be unaware since they’re gonna rarely if at all shoot it. If you can shoot 500-1000 Rds thru your 6” that would really prove where this colt stands on the 44mag pecking order! As of now it is unproven unlike the Smith!

    I have a video comparing it side by side with my 629. The colt is built alot more heavy duty. I have around 300 rds through mine to date give or take. Besides the sight I feel that it is more heavy duty built than the 629. I do not know about more "durable". Check that video out. Not the anaconda but I have a 6 inch original Python and it was left to me as a gift from a friend who passed butt he fired it kind of regularly I guess at the range and I have put barely over 500 through it and just cleaned it every single time as did he and it still looks basically brand new and the lockup is still spot on

    That is a good point though a lot of people who buy even the reproduction pythons they White glove those things like crazy I kind of do for a gun that gets shot every so often I'd still like the 44 mag anaconda though a 4-in that would be my everyday carry no joke something about those revolvers I can just hit things with as far as semi-autos I'm really only decent with a few platforms the M9 and the 1911 especially I feel very capable when I aim and fire that gun even with just standard old non-adjustable irons if you add a little color to those normal blade sights I'm actually better I think but definitely that is a really good question I'd like to see someone blow through 2000 to 3000 rounds then try a longer range test to see if any are tumbling or the rifling gets shot out at all
