Beautiful revolver! If Safety information is on that bar code thing. I Could see why it was put at that location. I hate all things computer but the code thing to me is a big nothing. In my opinion, the 3 ribbed recent version looks better on the 4.25 inch barrelled one.

I have the 6” blued as well. Mine is 272 copies before yours. I noticed the serial number on your gun. I have to agree,,, the finish is amazing and the trigger is just as amazing. It’s a fantastic example of the gunmaker craft.

I'm surprised with that high polish bluing. I didn't think any manufacturers did that anymore. Looks gorgeous! I have an old Remington rifle from the '70's that is polished but haven't seen bluing like that since. Always loved the snake guns but couldn't afford them. Went the 686 route. Totally love it in polished stainless.

I like Colt but I tend to favor S&W a bit more when it comes to DA revolvers however I must say Colt did a much better job when it comes to new production blued DA revolvers.

I’ve been wanting a 4.25” blued to go with my 1981 vintage Model 29-2. But I’m ngl the 6” in blued has really grown on me. If I get one there’s three mods I’m doing to it. 1-2 is a new set of Wilson combat sights (gold bead with serrated rear) and a more correct looking set of target grips. Add a bianchi x15 and I’m set.

The oil helps set up the blue oxide finish, you should keep a super lite film of oil on it, before and after range day wipe it down ❤

They have been coming out with some amazing firearms the last 5 years. We are living in the best times for guns and ofcoarse the government trying to strip that right away from us.

Unfortunately, the chemicals Colt used in the past were toxic, and there is nowhere that they can use them anymore. The new process is as close as they could get, but they did say that the finish will stay on better. I have an old Colt Trooper that had the beautiful, blued finish, but it wore off fast. Can't wait for my new python to come in.

Its a thing of abdolute beauty. I loved mine andit broke my heart having to hand it un here in the uk 😮😡😡

It's not royal blue. But it does looks excellent.

I really don't know the exact distinction, but Colt do not call this Royal Blue.

Beautiful ! Question have you noticed that the new model blue 4 inch has 3 slots vent rib vs. the original 4 inch having only 2 slots. The new model stainless steel has only 2 slots vent rib. Why ? My 1996 4 inch stainless has only 2 slots vent rib.

Yes and that made me second guess about getting that one, now that's the type of mistakes I will say Colt messed up. To me that's a screw up and they should have kept tradition, that I say is a legit complaint worthy of speaking out about.

Yes, Colt screwed up totally with their "new" Python. They did a good job with resurrection of their SAA revolvers though, but these Pythons are a complete fiasco.

Those are Deer Hollow grips. They're exact reproductions of the old Python grips.

The top barrels on the new ones are bulkier

Yep got one ordered through my gun shop . Gotta have the 6 inch to replace the 80's model i sold for $3600.

In love with the color much? Might as well put it behind glass before it gets messed up.

Bluing is better on the newest model than the old . Most definitely better

NICE $1.600 and all $OLD OUT

1. That blue finish is NOT like that vintage Royal Blue. The Royal Blue is nicer. 2. This new trigger has an ugly shape. The vintage one was more graceful with that roundness of contours and that little upper gap. 3. This new hammer has an uglier shape as well. Its tail is short. The vintage hammer was more graceful with that longer tail. Also the new hammer is black. The vintage one was silver on the sides. Beautiful. 4. Cylinder stop grooves are longer with the new one. The vintage one had them shorter which looked much nicer. 5. The markings are ugly on the new one. That exposed serial number and that QR-code :) is just a shame! The vintage one had the serial number hidden. 6. The crowning of the barrel looks ugly. 7. Grips are ugly on the new one. Nothing is more beautiful than those vintage factory Colt grips of gen2 and gen3.

Idk for me I love the new Anoconda but not so much the pythons 🐍 I take a old blue smith any day over these colts , and the 4 inch blued models with the 3 ribs is butt ugly , Grips are so Bland
