Colors in the sky
Did you get to see the recent aurora that reached down across the top of the globe? The colors were beautiful in my backyard.

All my friends online sent me pics of the aurora so I stayed up, but nothing outside, I got so angry, told my mom, she took me on a ride to a field without any lights from the nearby houses at 1.30am and we got to see the aurora in its full beauty

Now that's a good Mum. You should do something special for her to show just how much you appreciated it. Like....clean your room without being asked 😜. Hugs from the UK

lucky. i was raining/cloudy, with nights >.> north east sucks sometimes. was also cloudy during the eclipse >.>
This feels like an attack on me. Not for the aurora but for literally anything else, and all of a sudden, it’s 2AM and I’ve been sitting in bed constantly reading and asking questions for an hour and a half straight.

They'll smile and nod? Now that's a keeper!
How those colors? The sun storms send out clouds of electrically charged particles and depending on what gas in the atmosphere they react with ("which gas they get excited") different colors appear

Important thing to note is that gas concentrations vary depending on the height, so you'll find different colors appear the higher the aurora shines, and it happens by thresholds

I only saw a slight vaguely green haze as we live in the middle of town, meanwhile friends on the outskirts (with less light pollution) saw it properly and bombarded me with photos 🤦🏻♀️ I couldn't take a walk to see it as kiddo was asleep.

This happens to me every time there's a show in the sky here in India , it's always cloudy... Meteor showers, blue moon etc...
That's all he asks!
I was out alone in dark, cold field 2 nights in a row,my friend who wasn't going to go,sent gorgeous photos granted more north... feel so cheated
i sped through that process in like half a minute because the first reasonable explanation i thought of was chemistry, and i find that boring, so i got to skip the research :D but i usually type the thing into a search engine, read through the answer to the original question, and leave the rest of the research for tomorrow once i realise how many things i suddenly need to know. i just think of the amount of work looking for all that information would take and instantly nope out. laziness saves the day once again. (i may or may not have approximately three hundred tabs open)
Southern Ontario was cloudy that night, just like it always is when the sky is doing something cool
Bless this couple
This is actually so true, do NOT ask me a question late at night beacuse I would not be able to sleep without the feeling of dread of not knowing the answer 😭 The ending is adorable tho!!
Im definitely the person on the right, I oftentimes find myself falling to rabbit holes multiple times a day. At least its good for you to learn about things, even if you may not apply that knowledge often or at all...
This is surprisingly relatable! Have had so many questions to look up at random times even before going to bed and further questions end up popping in my head. 😂 It's like manifesting into a long cycle that can always repeat itself! 🤣
Wife of the year....too bad I'll NEVER know what that's like...😔😖
Seeing the Aurora in your own backyard? Lucky. If we drove to a No light area, you could only see it on the lower horizon….and then only with a phone with a special camera. If I wanted to see pictures of the northern lights on my phone, I could have done that at home!
The aurora boreaslis happens when a magnetic storm cause by solar activities charge the particalls in the sky.

Yes. But the question was why it is the colors that it is.
You're telling me I missed an aurora and didn't find out until a few days after?
Yeah. That's me too.
I couldn't see the aurora because it was so cloudy. But the pictures I saw looked really nice
Both ard brutally honest but accept it too which is really good
I'm exactly like this. My brain wants to know everything, but not actually function the way I need it to when I need it to. Like now, at 2:15 AM when I should be sleeping.
Makes me scratch my brain only to not have it
Awesome 🤩
In germany, it was mostly pink or light purple (and looked more like some kind of mist), in Kazakhstan, it was green and looked like the aurora birealis you always see in photos of the nordic lights.
Learning how to postpone the question part of my brain is something I occasionally need to relearn!
It was really cute the ending.
One, I feel this, so much. I often stay awake when it comes to searching random things up, abd it's quite annoying but also quite funny Two, I forgot how worked up people get when it comes to seeing something like the aurora borealis if they've never seen it before, simce I live in the arctic circle (in Canada) for most of my life. Saw them so much I guess I got desensitised to it 😭
My BF and I are both like this. It can make conversations take very long tangents.
The funniest thing is that these rarely have color so it makes this even funnier
Your stick figure couple always make me envious! 😂
That ended so sweetly 😊
I was so disappointed i couldnt see the auroras. Its my dream to see some and i missed them !! 😢
This is love.
I didn't know about the lights until the next day cuz I work weekends. Why did no one tell me😭

I swear the internet is mocking me for sleeping 😂 my partner and me missed the Aurora.
I'm in the Netherlands. It's way too Light up here. 😭
Darn, so relatable
That's literally me. One time I really had to know why farts smell the worst when we do it in the shower, and it was around 1 a.m. (had to wake up at 6 to work)
How sweet.
The worst part is, the threat of not remembering the burning question tomorrow somehow makes the need to find an answe right now even MORE vital. So now I'm doomed, even if I had wanted to sleep before, now my brain won't shut up about either thing!
Love it
I can't stop laughing 🤣 this reminds me if my relationship so intensely. I tend to be the one diving down rabbit holes until i veer off onto uninterestinf territory and hes kind enough to listen to my discovery rants until my system is clear and he can return to his battle plains. Then ill ask about an aspect of military or battle ships and its his turn to go off and im pretty sure neither of us retains the initisl information shared from one to another 😂
Not me getting flashbacks of that presentation on Aurora Borealis I had to do for school once upon a time-

We had an aurora but I was asleep. I was so goddamn mad Also this is very relatable, yes
Aww that was a cute ending
This is so me
I am exactly the same way. I also am so mad because my dad said he’d wake me up if he saw them, but he didn’t see them by the time he went to bed at 11 and didn’t see them when he woke up at 1 so he didn’t wake me up but then neither of us got to see them and we were both pissed off.

hey, you can't just end video like that, now I WANT TO KNOW TOO!!!
How is this so true
Living up here North of the 55, we just call that "Tuesday" :) P.s. light travelling through a prism. That's the answer. Now go get some sleep :)
Yeah apparently this visible where I was and farther south didn’t see squat the whole time
Remember, if you see the Aurora, whistle as loud as you can 😂
This is what I found on Google (tl;dr at end): "The aurora borealis, or northern lights, appear in different colors because different gases in the Earth's atmosphere give off different colors when they are excited by collisions with energetic particles from space: Green and yellow: The most common colors, produced when charged particles collide with oxygen molecules at altitudes of 60 to 190 miles Blue: Produced when nitrogen is the trigger Red: Produced when solar particles react with oxygen at higher altitudes, generally above 150 miles Purple: Produced when high-energy auroral electrons cause a purple lower border of green curtains Orange: Produced when neon is the trigger Pink: Produced when nitrogen is the trigger " TL;DR: Depending on which gas the energized space particles run into, it turns that color (eg. Space particle + nitrogen = blue light)
I feel so attacked by this, because this is so me. 🤣
Maybe even some widescreen animations?
The gases in the air being charged by the geomagnetic field of the earth getting flexed by the solar flare. Similar to how neon signs work, but on a much larger less contained scale.
Oh my god, what's happening in there?! Aurora Borealis? Aurora Borealis? At this time of year, at this time of day, localised entirely in your backyard? Yes. May I see it?
As someone w ADHD I really vibe with this :D
😂 that feels like me
From 0:40 onwards I can very much relate, as I can’t sleep if I have a question about something and I need to look it up to know the answer. It’s so frustrating. I am the guy on the right of this video 🤜💥🤛😎
This is an actual representation of my partner and I 😂 me being the rabbitholer 😅
I didn’t get to see them. However, apparently they could be seen with phone camera
You know, I have a potential partner now. But with her, the conversation would not have gone like this.😂
i didnt even know about the aurora lol :c
I went to Iceland to see the aurora, and didn't see it.
I forgot to look... Definitely regret it now😅
In a relationship I could probably fill any of those roles...
dang OCD
I missed them.... I f***ing missed them... I didn't know they were coming and only f***ing learn about them the next morning.........😡😫😭
Ok but why was the guy trynna sleep without a boxy body?

Nawhhhh
I know that occasionally these comics include gender structures of male and female relationships, but the ambiguity given by the majority of them and these, basically, agender stick-people warms my heart to no end as a single gay man. I hope to find a genderless stick person that can love me as much as any one of your characters!

what does it say
dont be silly, you live in a black and white animation! what colors?
Are you Australian?
The color green is due to the oxygen in the atmosphere, and the pinks and purples come from nitrogen. Now go to sleep.
Das ist schon 5 tsge alt und ich krieg jetzt erst die benachrichtigung von youtube
First time you recorded a yawn Edit: Looked it up, and the reason why it’s green is that it’s the *characteristic of oxygen* Edit 2: Here’s an answer for your description. *No :(*
You consistently kiss your own self copy in these cartoons. Kinda gay
