Also food is sub par in cs. Denver is better but both are below average in the USA; food is a low priority in Colorado due to obsession with mountains mountains mountains.

Might mention the elevation difference. Cos is 1000’ higher or so -the north even at 6800!- so colder.

The springs is a beautiful area indeed but there's not enough programs available for the homeless which is sad because they've totally trashed out the downtown S. Nevada St. Area. Sprawled out along the creeks and bridges. The police dept is very nice, but the bus system shuts down to early. Folks that rely on public transit here pretty much have to stick with the first shift job. By 10:00 p.m. The bus system is pretty much closed down. Also on the weekend schedule in some areas they only run hourly or every half hour whereas in Denver it's much more convenient.

Military presence in CS? yeah.... I hope you don't mind jets, huge planes and helicopters flying over. Personally, I think its cool and usually flock to outside or a window when I hear a jet.

We just moved to Colorado from Florida. We considered everywhere from Ft Collins to Pueblo as a potential relocation target since I'm fully remote. There were a number of factors we considered. Overall, I prefer the vibe of Colorado Springs and I really wanted a house with a great view of the Rockies. The mountains are so much closer in the Springs than Denver. Thus, we managed to get that by building in the Wolf Ranch area - which is also in the desirable D20 school district. It's also a solid $150k less expensive than a similar home in the Denver metro - which would have been beyond our means.

@@mattbrew11 Wolf Ranch - it is in Northern Colorado Springs area in the Northeastern section of Woodmen and Powers. Research Parkway goes through the northern part of it. Basically the northern part of the "Powers Corridor." Worth a look, a lot of new construction here.

Colorado Springs native here. Here is lowdown. If you consider yourself more left leaning politically, you will want to stay close to downtown, west side or near the Patty Jewett area. If you find yourself more on the the right, further north and east will most likely fit you better. But honestly being a left leaning voter in a red county / city, the politics can be a bit frustrating. But, if you like to ride bikes or hike or run, Colorado Springs is head and shoulders above Denver. I can get on a mountain bike from my mostly central location (Fillmore & Union) and ride for miles and miles without having to brave riding on a road. And along the way I can get great views of the city and the mountains. The open space here is incredible. However, the downside of Colorado Springs's landscape is the lack of water. We have Monument Creek and Fountain Creek, but they are not really good for water sports and the nearest lake is Pueblo Reservoir. So if you like water sports, you will not like Colorado Springs. The job market is dominated by the military. If you dont have a remote job and have to find something here, the major employers are military contractors or in some way connected to one of the bases. (Fort Carson Army base, Peterson Air Force Base, Schriever Space Force base and the Air Force Academy). As for the weather, most snow storms move from north to south and Colorado Springs is protected by Monument hill. Occasionally, when a storm comes from the south (its usually called an Albuquerque low) the Springs gets more snow and Monument hill protects Denver. Castle Rock, Larksspur and Monument get hit no matter what direction it comes from.

Could nor agree more 👍🏼I moved away from the springs 3 years ago to Northwest Florida...looking at coming back to the springs, but was worried how much has changed. I visit family once or twice a year and definitely miss the options both cities provide for activities.

just means that we never want to intentionally express views about communities, with the purpose of directing buyers away from or towards certain neighborhoods due to their race or other protected characteristic. we like to direct people to information like GreatSchools.org and DenverCrimeMaps so they can form their own opinion and everyones preference is different. the technical name for the violation is Steering. also, mentioned in Fair Housing Act.
