    Excellent video. Pearl Pass was still closed when we were up there for a week long overlanding trip a couple of months ago. Wish I had that many friends that were into overlanding to travel with me. Generally it is just me and my son and he is not old enough to help guide my tire placement up and down bigger obstacles. Mineral Creek had a couple of off camber pucker moments without a spotter. Glad to see the ZR2 representing!!! Excellent content and videos! You have a new subscriber.

    I'm in the same boat. My friends don't have 4x4 vehicles. We have a 2019 KL Jeep Cherokee trailhawk. Would we be able to do this entire trip in it? Its still stock height although I'm planning on installing a 2" lift and a little larger tires in the future. New sub here. Thanks for sharing

    Grey Wolf67 I’ve never driven a trail hawk but I know they are capable. I would think you would drag a lot since it wouldn’t have the ground clearance of the 4Runners. But there’s only one way to know for sure. Lol. I say go for it.

    This is amazing! I'm planning for a similar trip within the next 3-5 years (coming all the way from NC), so this is awesome to watch. Just curious, do you happen to know the specs on that 5th Gen 4Runner? How much is it lifted, what tire size, etc? Nice to have a measuring stick to make sure I'm prepared. Thanks!

  • @greyhounds72

    @greyhounds72

    Also, do you think a locker is absolutely mandatory for sections of this trail? I have an SR5 5th gen with no rear locker. Looks like it would certainly be beneficial for some of that more technical stuff, but did you find most of your rigs ended up locking it, or going through open? Thanks!

  • @OzarkOverlandAdventures

    @OzarkOverlandAdventures

    3 жыл бұрын

    Thanks!! You'll love it!!! Both 5th Gen 4Rs have 3" Lifts and 33" tires. They did very good on the trip. The locker question is tough. If it's dry then you won't need one. Your rig will do fine. If it's wet that one section on Pearl Pass will be more of a challenge. We did have a couple Jeeps that didn't have lockers and they made it up but had to bump it pretty good.

    I'm sorry, man, but the selfie stick out the window is not working in your favor. The camera could also be an issue. The problem is that the camera is all over the place and makes the video unwatchable for me, while you are trying to film the conquering of your obstacles. If you mount the Gopro to the pillar, or the door, it will track, keeping the scenery and your obstacles in focus without struggling with stabilization. I see that you are using high quality cameras for your up close and personal portions, and the images are great, there. I realize that it is possible that you are just hanging a good camera out the window as opposed to an action camera. Anyway, thanks for sharing. I will continue to look at your upcoming videos.

    Brawl Dawg yeah still working on that. There’s no selfie stick. Lol. It’s a mix of Go Pro Hero 8 Black and IPhone 11 Pro Max which both have good image stabilization. In Part 1 I grabbed my GoPro Hero 5 Black instead of the 8 and that footage was horrible.
