Colorado, Dispersed Camping, Alpine Loop, Lake City Colorado, Animas Forks Colorado
In this video we break camp on Yankee Boy Basin Rd and travel south down HWY 550 to Silverton, CO. Then East on Co Rd 2, right on Co Rd 4 and eventually find a dispersed camping spot at Highland Mary Camping Site. Very nice sites right on Cunningham Creek and easily assessable by any type of vehicle. We set up camp and explored the nearby area. Thursday, we gear up and begin the Alpine Loop trip; the trail that began the whole process of thinking & planning this entire vacation. It did not disappoint. Looking back on the 10-hour day ride I scratch my head wondering why I don’t have more video footage. The answer is that I am not a good KZread videographer and also that there was so much natural beauty to behold it was difficult to not just enjoy the moment instead of holding camera in hand 100% of the time. Lake City, CO was really a cool town. They welcome and cater to UTV’s enthusiast. We started the Alpine loop at Animas Forks and went clockwise around the loop so, Engineer Pass, Lake City then Cinnamon Pass, Animas Forks and then back to base camp.
