Your porch came out gorgeous. I also live in NH and my wife and are looking to have a farmers porch built. Our house styles are very similar. Did you build this yourself or did you use a contractor? If you used a contractor I would love to reach out to them after seeing their workmanship.

Great project Timothy. Came out great. I'm in the process of building something similar. One question for you. What type of material did you use for the arched beadboard ceiling? Is that some type of PCV beadboard product? Do you mind sharing where you sourced it? Thanks!

That was an Azek PVC bead board from PJ Currier in Amherst, NH. Very light and flexible; and still looks great years later with a periodic light power washing.

I used Azek Bead board and stainless steel flat head screws for fasteners (I was worried about rust bleeding through). PJ Currier, Amherst NH. I am sure you can order it through any lumber yard.

Wow it came out beautiful ❤️ Did you hire a contractor for this? My husband wanted to have one for our home but we need windows and siding first :-(

Sorry it took so long to reply. Just shy of $19,000 including screws, glue, wood, shingles, ice shield, decking, ceiling, $100/hole (I live in the granite state), columns, granite steps, ...everything!

@Anakin Skywalker Everything white is Azek (PVC) including the ceiling. The deck is Azek as well. I have been working on a 16x24 addition for the last year. The lumber alone was $20,000 2021 prices 😳; It will have cost me $80,000 by the end of this project $226 a square foot finished (352 square feet finished); with a full 352 square foot unfinished basement. I will be posting that video in a month or so.

Do you have any photos or plans for how you built the eaves? I have my porch built up to my decking and am getting started with the roof, but I haven't figured out how I want to build the eaves. I, like you, am putting a beadboard ceiling in and am using 2x6 joists and rafters 16" o.c. It looks like you used joist hangers on both sides and then blocked your eaves I assume? I'm deciding if that, or putting the joists on top of my header beam and cutting to match the pitch of my roof makes more sense.

@@TimGS53154 thanks for the link! The are so many videos on deck building. Very few quality ones on the roof portion. I got my ledger on yesterday. I ended up deciding to bear the joists on the beam directly instead of dual hangers.

I might after I clean the leaves out. Right now there are plenty of shrubs and other plants hiding the underside of the porch 😊
