Welcome to my channel. I make lots of music based videos, mainly dancing to really nice music. My music choices are based on having a first love of Soul and Funk music, although I love a lot of different types of music and rhythms. I enjoy sharing this love and making videos to re-imagine those tunes. I try to mix up classics with tunes not so well known, and putting creative and artistic visuals to the tunes can be fun and interesting, and the process of making videos is part of my journey which has led me to do lots of different things. I have released my own CD through Universal Music, and I have worked with many different companies and style brands where Music or Dance has been part of the campaign. I have worked for the BBC on Strictly as a choreographer, and danced with Pharrell at The Brits. I have had Music Radio Shows and I DJ as part of @streetsofsoul and sometime we put on events too!!

The Crazy thing Is, All the records they are dancing to, are Records that Americans Ignored for Years. They had this Culture way back In the 60's, and they never knew about It. This Film Is from the Monthly Stoke alnighters, I used to go to this one with Mate, back In 2002. They were great nights. Glad I still have all the Records. Keep The Faith.

Well, if there's any compensation, I'm an American who just got into Northern soul last year. Hearing the music, seeing the sights, getting their kicks off, it ignited this feeling that I've never felt before. It was just so harmonious and accepting, even if it geographically felt so far away haha. It's true, most Americans don't know about NS and probably never will. They'll think it's cool, but not their "thing". That's alright though, it's not about being better than everyone else. It's something to share and something I'll always cherish, as cheesy as it may sound lol. KTF, no matter where you are

It's great to hear the stories of these long forgotten or never heard of artists getting royalty checks or asked to visit clubs in the North of England and perform live sometimes 5, 10 years after they'd recorded them and had been long forgotten by the U.S. Awesome sounds.

This made me smile! Made me feel proud, too. I was there for the Northern Soul revival in the early 80's. 7 p.m. on a Saturday night and straight through to 7 a.m. the next morning. Cue: a quick wash as well as a change of clothes and shoes. Twelve hours of dancing and, then, stepping back out into the fresh air only to have the sun hijack our eyes. Twelve hours and nearly one mile of slow, tired, heavy walking and we finally reached our usual port - of- call: the cafe. As rough inside as it was painted on the outside. But....this man played - just for us and our wallets - Northern Soul!!! A cuppa; toast; and an fry-up followed by biscuits. Sunday mornings would never be the same again. We must have argued , sang and talked Northern Soul for - at least - four hours! Makes me feel lost and abandoned now to think about all those lost faces. However, and as I said , this made me smile. I can only hope it encourages them to listen to more Northern Soul. I can only hope.

It was the Mods in the UK of the mid sixties that really started the R&B culture in England....playing up tempo dance tunes from primarily Detroit in the Coffee bars up and down the country Then in Manchester a club opened that would become an iconic symbol of Northern soul THE TWISTED WHEEL. ..it wasn't called Northern soul in the early days that term wasn't coined until 1971...by Dave Godin , who noticed Northern mods were more into the fast tempo dance tunes ....The Wheel was an awesome club....the all nighters legendary ...as a kid I couldn't wait to pay my "ten bob" and get down those stairs to the cellar dance floors. Thiscwas my education in a dance culture that will remain with me forever. .

It was the black music scene that were getting little air time on the big radio stations and on the little label that got pressed in small numbers like 200 to two thousand copies that we used to search for from small record shops and then collected what we thought were great to dance too and had to import them from American small record shops and take them along with you and ask the Dj's to give them a spin and swap & exchange or sell them to others northern soul freaks at the Wigan Casino club all night dancing from opening to closing at around 8 in the morning , then changing into working boots and straight to work if we could make It on time 😂check out the BBC2 for an old documentary about life in the late 60's to the late 70's and now you'll still have every age group attending these occasions now some hitting 70 years of age and everyone is still KTF 😂✌️😘
