Taskmaster is one of the best series on television in years. I've watched every series! British comedies in general just hit different

The Inbetweeners (UK) is one of the funniest comedies in existence. First caught wind of it in high school, sophomore year, i think. Loved it then and still love it now. Never gets old! Cheers to our cousins across the pond for these brilliant series!

Inbetweeners ruined comedy for me lowkey, whenever i watch American Comedy films i never laugh and instead cringe at how forced so many jokes are. Show like Inbetweeners, Jonah from Tonga, summer heights high are peak cos the comedy feels more natural and they dont ponder on a joke for too long.

The Graham Norton show is the best talk show ever, because Graham gives the guests some alcohol, chills in his seat, and he lets them speak. He explained the secret to get the most embarrasing stories from celebrities: they don't care about the audience, or him, but they always want to be the one with the "best" story on the show and impress the other famous people sititng on the couch.

I did think this, especially during Old Gregg. The humour in Boosh is as much the dialogue as the visuals.

They DID do a US Taskmaster, but it failed miserably, as do many US adaptations (Inbetweeners being a topical example). However, the New Zealand and Australian Taskmaster are excellent too

Avez-vous vécu dans un pays Anglophone !? Well, It's very difficult for me to understand all what they say in American films, But 70's Fantasy Hollywood films with British Actors , It's Alright ! Je Comprends L'arabe, Le Français, L'Espagnol, L'anglais & un peu de Japonais

Monty Python was way out there and unpredictable and we love them for it and we still watch,quote and sketch them today i love these so much

So the northern Irish are not British because they're not on the right island even if we do "own them".

the best part about the Graham Norton show clip, was that was the Teacher and Writer of "The Inbetweeners" and some of that story made it inot the Intbetweeners show

1:18 just to put this comment into perspective, there are more deaths from gunshots in one year in Washington DC than occurred in the entire troubles. It wasn’t a happy thing in the UK by our standards, but if it counted as ‘wartime’, wtf is going on with gun violence in the US?

I love that one of the women hit the nail on the head as to why I often prefer British comedy - we do not spoonfeed jokes or have a character explain the punchline afterwards just to make sure everyone in the audience gets it. I also think a lot of the time, the punchlines are less predictable. I do like American comedy too, but I've noticed this key difference.

Derry Girls is Northern Ireland which while part of the UK is not part of Britain

You should show them Gavin and Stacy and not just the curry order scene!

As a Brit myself, I would say our comedy is dry wit, great timing of jokes and the unexpected which makes it hilarious, and the topics are so far out there and it just works.

Love Monty Python and Fleabag. I am constantly binging Fleabag over and over again. I prefer British humour over American humour tbh. But there are some good American humour out there.

A lot of the British humour is totally brutal. These comedies if you can call them that are very simplistic. To appreciate real British comedy youn have to go back to the nineties and before

Little Britain would be a great addition, but considering it's banned by UK media I'd be highly surprised if any American channels were willing to include it.

British humor is quite different, and I love it. Benny Hill, The Goodies, Doctor in the House, Red Dwarf, Black Adder, Are You Being Served, The Young Ones, only to name a few.

They were ripping into the guy from the inbetweeners and saying there was no way he was a teenager. He was 20 years old when it was broadcast, he probably WAS a teenager when it was shot...

Can't believe they didn't show "Are You Being Served?" That was a staple in my house growing up. My parents watched it on PBS. That and Monty Python are why I get and enjoy British humor.

Taskmaster did have a US version as well as a New Zealand version. The UK version is on season 15, NZ maybe 3?, and the US was a tragic disaster (as expected) and didn’t make it past the first season. The UK version is hilarious though.

Taskmaster is one of the most consistently fun shows and formats out there (and all on youtube!). Even if you don't know the contestants. Can't recommend it enough. Especially if you like React. That part with Joe Wilkinson is one of the most savage moments in the show no, recorded television, ever. Just hilarious.

A lot of americans don't watch normal british tv shows and thats why they don't understand their accent. Most americans are used to watching the stereotypical old history british shows. Thats why whenever they try to speak in a british accent they exaggerate it so much.
