Thanks for posting this video. I have a question, or two. Once you move the eggs to the container with Methylene blue do you heat those? I know the water temp would drop pretty cool at my house. Also do you do water changes on those or only after the feeding stage? Thanks

This is a great video thanks, I have some rams myself breeding. I've seen plenty of videos of people showing their setups but not one like yours showing the process, so thank you. I have one question I can't seem to find an answer to anywhere, are you doing anything to maintain a highter temp in the water the eggs are in? Or is it staying around room temp and this is okay for the egg and as they go into wigglers and free swimmers? Thanks again, just started following you on IG :) :)

i liek your method. i have a pair of 6 month GBRs in a 10 gallon. they ate their first batch of eggs and with there second batch they all hatched about 60+ and they just keep moving them.. sucking multiple into their mouths and spitting them out. Ill read that GBRs are good parents...mine dont eat the fry but they movethem so much i wonder what type of damage that does. will definitely follow you way of doing things next go around. i think i have 20-30 in day 5 of hatching.

Ok, well I took 1/4 their eggs and put it in a small container with an air stone & 2 drops of Methyl Blue. And I let the Container to hang over into the tank water to keep warm. How long til I change the water to regular tank water, etc.? And I left the rest of the eggs for them to take care of to see if they will respond well. They did attack my fingers Big Time when I was taking some of their eggs... This is their 2nd batch. I took out the rest of the fish mates so they don't eat their eggs this time.,.

I would like to know what you do from when they get in the small container and until you release them in a ordinary tank. Ive had my GBR laying eggs 3 times, but they ate all the eggs all 3 times. Planning on taking the eggs, but dont know how to take care of them. You're video is the best I've found so far.

Fridskans frequent feeding and water changes. Then when big enough acclimate them into your aquarium, with a sponge filter or covered filter intake, continuing the feeding and cleaning

Got as far as hatching the eggs. Got them freeswimming but then during 3-5 day they all died one by one. Had some methylene blue with the eggs. (Do i keep the wigglers/freeswimmers in that aswell? Tried to feed them BBS and finley drushed flakefood. Couldnt see if they actuly was eating it. Im not heating the room, so i got the container they was in to float in an tank with heater. Water in the tank is 26-27 Celcius.

I recently purchased plants for my tanks. 2 days after I purchased them, we had little fry swimming around my tank. I asked the lady what she had in the tank it the plants and she said GBR's and she also she has been trying so hard to have live fry from them but she's had so many failures. Here I am 3 weeks in and these little guys are doing great. I have them in 2 different tanks, a 55 with a common pleco about 12 inches long and a 45 with a bristlenose around 6 inches long and they all seem to be doing fine. But I see alot of videos saying to use methyl, what is that for?

if you take the eggs immediately surely they aren't fertilised? or does the male fertilise them instantly kinda thing? my EB Acara laid eggs and ate them on day three and are about to spawn again so I'm not sure whether to do what you've done and take them out! I kinda wanted them to just raise them on their own naturally

Hello, My Ramirezi put there eggs on a hole in the sand that they made last night and today i couldn't see the eggs, don't know if the burried the eggs in the sand because the hole looks a bit less deep. Will they survive in the aquarium or will they most likely be eaten?

@@pittsburghpets3759 do the Ramirezi burrie there eggs in the sand? Because the hole is much less deeper now. Also the male keep going near the hole and runs the female away. And how long does it take for the eggs to hatch? If the eggs are really still there I hope they can get out under the sand.

great vids. i have a couple of questions. I'm having trouble getting the eggs to hatch. i have a pair that spawn about every 2 to 3 weeks. at 1st, i left them to it and they ate the batch. the 2nd batch lasted a few days then got eaten. the 3rd batch, i got a few wigglers but most were white or eaten. then i decided to try taking the eggs. as you did, apart from i didn't have any methblue, and i left the container hanging in the tank, to keep the temp right. they all got fungus, so i ordered some methblue. with the next batch, i did the same and all looked good until eventually they all turned white. with the last batch, i tried adding a little methblue to the tank and left the eggs to the parents, with no luck. i have noticed that once the eggs are layed (or sometimes even during spawning) the male pushes the female away and won't let her near the eggs. no idea why, but he gets possessed. i wonder sometimes, if he even fertilises the eggs properly. I also wonder if he might not be right in the head. i guess fish can be mentally ill, just like any of us.lol. sorry to go on, but i wanted to give you the background. Q1. should i remove the male after spawning? Q2. if i do get lucky with the jar method, how do you clean the container without hoovering up the fry? thanks in advance, for anyone that can help me.

The female will eat the eggs. So he protects the eggs from her. Smart move on keeping the water warm. I couldn't' figure out how he keeps the water warm in those small containers. I didn't see any heater in them.
