I'm delightfully encouraged when I tune into Coleman Hughes. Indeed the youth are our future. I am proud of this young Black man.

Belief change blindness. We are unaware of our beliefs changing and when they do change we somehow can’t even remember our past beliefs.

Not mentioned much that aside from having endless discussion, argument or being actively campaigning for a cause, people who live their life in a good way have a great influence on the way i think and have helped to shape my views. I personally find it hard to understand the people who just speak out and make this all that they are. It is often championed and glorified, but I feel they are missing something in life and wish better for them. It doesn’t always capture my inspiration. I think by simply living a life it can show a path and bring understanding that can never be found in debate. I do find this video very positive, interesting and agree with so much...just in terms of the title of the video though, I feel my views have more often been shaped by life and I wanted to add this incase it helps someone someday.

I disagree. It is tiring trying to deal with people who are unreasonable and insulting. Most of us don't have the time and will to deal with the aggravation brought on by others. No, block these scumbags.

As I listen to his argument it is clear that he is the beneficiary of affluence and has not had the brunt of the harsh reality of many ADOS people who have not had such. This is why Coleman Hughes is NOT a credible witness to offer testimony on this subject of Reparations. However, his perspective is just that. His individual perspective. Please don't get it twisted as if he is the rest of the "victims" of systemic structural inequality in America because he is NOT.

Black Americans are an incredibly diverse group, yet only one perspective has been mainstreamed. Saying that Coleman is privileged and therefore cannot speak for lower socio-economically situated blacks is not a good argument, and we both know that criticism wouldn't be leveled if he was preaching from the racism bible.

@@BreatheDeepSeekPeace What C Cade is saying is the ADOS is a specific group with a specific experience. And it's not just any specific group, it's a group with a very long and deep and unresolved history in this country which it is native to. When you have an opinion about slavery and most of the country takes black american to refer to one thing, it's worth while to point out that the American Descendants of Slaves have a specific heritage and cultural identity. C Cade is very clearly due to context referring to the fact that he can't speak to the group that has the justice claim in the first place. ADOS. C Cade never said that Hughes can't speak for lower socio-economic blacks, it is clear due to context that he was saying Hughes can't speak for American Descendants of Slaves. Please don't aim a disrespectful "we both know" because you're not him. #ADOS

We used to think that Coleman Hughes had something to say. However, his admission that he voted Democrat in the last general election, has convinced us that he 'talks the talk' but he can't 'walk the walk'. The guy is an empty vessel.
