Coleman 321A (Rare Blue - Canadian) Tear down rebuilt - part 2
Part 2 of 2
Complete tear down of a Canadian made (Toronto) Coleman 321A.
Coleman Toronto Canada factory ONLY manufacture the color blue for their lantern for a few years, so these are rare.
Problem:
when I picked this one up, had a bad generator, check valve little seized and needed a deep cleaning.
This video will demonstrate how to fully disassemble it and restore it.
Hope you enjoy it, smash the "like" and subscribe to my channel.

I just bought a like new 321a circa 1980 in like new condition. I probably paid too much but given it's condition I thought $50 wasn't too bad. I think the love that someone gave it to keep it in such good shape was worth the $50. 🤣

Nice job. Love those compact single mantle lanterns. Not sure what the purpose of that initial "fire test" without the mantle is for, the generator doesn't get sufficiently heated in that test. Did you notice the flames coming out of the bail socket on the left at 42:15? May need some leak tests on that burner assembly. I don't understand why so many Coleman folks want to wait so long before lighting. Light the damn lighter BEFORE you open the valve. What are you gaining by waiting a second? Every second that fuel is flowing without heat means several more seconds to get it running. In my opinion, you're just flooding the generator unnecessarily and extending your warmup. Maybe I'm missing something and there IS a good reason, but I have yet to hear one in the 45+ years I've been messing with these. Anyway good job getting this beauty cleaned up and running! Job well done!
