I know most people think about loved ones who passed away when they hear this song, but for me, it holds a different meaning. For me, it’s me looking back and hanging onto a relationship that’s been long gone. I made mistakes. I took things for granted. I miss that feeling it used to give me. That everglow of being loved is magical. That feeling that makes you feel like you’re on top of the world. Even til now, all I ever think about is…how do we get back? How can I rewind the clock to when we we’re happy? But I can’t turn back time. I know it’s over. She’s moved on to someone else. But I still hold on to that special feeling. It’s not healthy, I know. But no matter how hard I try. I can’t move on.

Yesterday I had to bury my partner after 12 years of relationship. He died in a plane crash and was the love of my life, my soulmate and best friend. We both loved Coldplay and went to their concerts together a lot. This song was played at his funeral and it touches me so much. "... this particular diamond was extra special. It’s now the end of the year and I’m going to high school now. I’m afraid everybody I love will leave me. I stayed awake till 4 am listening to this song, crying. Crying over my friends, my loneliness, my mental health, Chester Bennington, Kurt cobain, my parents… pray that I get better…

This song brings me to tears - I lost my husband to Cancer in 2010... and it is incredible how someone else's experience can be so hauntingly relatable to another persons story...music connects us all. The Pearsall Family I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my sister to cancer 10 months ago at the age of 32. two beautiful boys and so much to live for. I chose this song for her funeral. cancer is heartless :(

Hey....idk if you still check your notifications but I felt so compelled to type this to you: I hope you hang on. Losing someone is never easy, especially when it is your life partner. Cancer sucks, but at least he doesn't need to suffer for any longer. Still a teen but the thought about marrying someone and having him or any other love one disappear from your life makes me so sad and afraid about the future. But please stay strong. ❤ thank you for sharing, it's honestly nice to see that true love still exists.

I still remember when my friend was going through tough times and almost considered suicide, I called him on the phone and said "Bro.. Wanna go get some coffee and listen to some coldplay?" He agreed to meet and we got some coffee and listened to this track and then some others. We didn't talk until after a couple of songs later. He calmed down and told me "Man.. I wanna live more after all.. When's their new album coming out?" There's something about Coldplay's songs that give you such a trip to the ups and downs of life and then put you back on a positive track.

man SAME!!! When i was down and hopeless in freshman year, i stumbled upon coldplay greatest hits (only knew a couple coldplay songs before that), and it had this healing effect that made me believe and feel like everything was gonna be okay. will never forget that playlist i saved, it was amazing

I gave this song to my mom seven years ago. It was strange, giving it to her while she was still here, but I'm glad I did. Because now, it's one of the things that remain.

i've been always impressed by his voice how it reaches the deepest and the hightest tones in a moment

I love Coldplay. Despite being one of the best bands in the world, they've let nothing go to their heads. Chris doesn't sing about money or cars. The band doesn't screw around. They're just simple, raw, talent. Amazing.

This song always brings back memories of my teenage years, when I first entered university when life was much simpler and easier, even though the song itself was released in 2015? 2016? Im 55 now but my heart still can dream. For me, this song is one of their instant classic songs.

This song really hits different when you have that one person it makes you think of that you no longer are the same way with.

I'm in the process of losing my grandmother, my best friend, the woman who raised me and was always there. Best woman I've ever met. This song reminds me so much of her. I wasn't ready to feel this empty at 24. Loved Coldplay my whole life, they just hit certain heartstrings.

This is, in my opinion, the best thing they ever produced. People idolize the past because it is a part of what formed them. It feels classic. Someday this may feel classic too. But many Coldplay songs have meaningless or uninteresting lyrics. These lyrics are the opposite. They are arresting and the backing music is incredible as well. I have never lost someone close to me (at least not in a sudden way I wasn't prepared for) but I find this song almost overwhelming.

They also played it in the US in Europe shows before. In Latin America we got the regular version, the one in the A Head Full of Dreams album. Both are really great, but I prefer this acoustic version, it's amazing!
