Nothing to do with the video but I took your advice and added running to my training program. I'm just starting out but after about three weeks I'm already having trouble maintaining my weight with my normal exercise routine. Now I just gotta get my endurance up and maybe add some weight like a pack or one of those vests.

Excellent. It can be addictive. You see how the pounds fly off! Personally I don't eat before running but I make sure to eat enough after.

I always wonder just how much of this cutting demo stuff is about the blade, steel, sharpness etc and how much is just the skill of the wielder. Because I have sharpened up blades in exceptional steels and VERY rarely get the effect one sees here. Certainly not the kind of stuff I'd post videos on.

A lot is technique, cutting the bottles low definitely helps them not tipping over, but there is a risk of hitting the stand.

I have this Machete since it came out some years ago. It's razorsharp and I have it always ready at our apartment entrance. I heard of a big problem with CS machetes since GSM took over. A lot of machetes including this one were hand sharpened in CSs HQ in Ventura in good old LT times. Now this service is not available any more. So in the end you may have luck with a sharpened one but you also may have bad luck with a unsharpened one. So QC is another topic now. Is your Tanto Machete a pre GSM model, too?

Yes indeed, mine is quite old. It's true, I saw the grinders at CS HQ in one of their videos, they did the final sharpening. Hopefully they will pre-order the new ones to come already sharpened from SA.

Sometimes it's just fun mall ninja-ing it up.
