Cold Smoked Sea Salt

It's always good to have a nice smoked flaky salt to use as a finishing salt on hand.

Thanks Nate. Ha , I rescued an old Weber Grill like that this past spring. It was like brand new, for its age. $80 later I basically had a brand new Weber Grill. Anyway, thanks for the vid. Do you add rice to help with humidity and salt? Or salt and cheese cloth?✌🏻

I bought that weber for like 40 bucks years ago when the lowes special rusted out in just a few years. Replaced all the heat diffusers and grates and its rock solid now. I do not do anything like that.....I was a bit worried since it was snowing at the beginning of the cook but that stopped probably mid way through. I have had a batch that got a bit moist before - could have used the rice trick.

Nate my good friend, that looks interesting, never had smoked sea salt, what type of wood were the pellets ?, most folks in rural Kentucky don't even know about sea salt let alone smoked, if i were doing this on a grill & they asked what it was, i would say sea salt & they would say yes, i "see" salt, lol, & what would you use smoked sea salt on ?, i've never used it. God bless you & yours & you all stay safe.

@@WhiteThunderBBQ Nate my good friend, yw, ty for the info, hickory is my fave, when smoking i usually use 80% hickory wood & 20% apple, i don't have a pellet smoker, but i think i told you that my wood is free as it is everywhere, need only to cut/season it from year to year, you & yours stay safe pal
