I’ll provisionally accept that alcohol is purely poison if you’ll back off of the absurdity that weed is purely medicinal.

Regarding tips: My wife and I worked at a nice hotel, me as a Bellman and she as a housekeeper. Sometimes when people or organizations would trash a room, they would leave a nice tip for housekeeping. For example a sports team or musical group would come into one of the rooms and move all the furniture out of the way to practice or whatever. I would see the large tips they left as I was loading up the bellman's cart and helping them leave the trashed room. I would talk to my wife about it and she would complain because she had to put the room back in order and clean it within the same amount of time as the non-trashed rooms and complained that "They never leave a tip". I did some investigating and found out the lead housekeepers who were in charge of assigning the rooms, were coming in after me and vacuuming up the tips before the housekeeper that actually did the work ever saw it. Then they would yell at the housekeeper for being behind.

For the record: Elon Musk didn't ask if he should make an X phone, but Elon Musk Parody did.

I think Lyft takes part of the tip and gives most to the driver. I always tip in cash straight to the driver.

Exactly. Likewise, when you eat in a locally owned and operated restaurant, pay and tip in Ca$h. Ditto when buying goods and services locally. If you trust him, pay in ca$h.

Just like the woman who got the text, Scott is reading way too much into this. If the dude wasn't into her he prob would've just not texted her at all. He was most likely just feeling her out, and prob playing it a bit on the aloof side to not appear too eager. Guess it worked.

I resonate with the comment that mental illness in contagious and more specifically, that MSNBC makes people sick. I don't own a television, and if I watch TV for more than an hour, I feel funny. One time I was at someone's house and watched MSNBC for a few hours and left feeling absolutely terrible. It wasn't nausea and it wasn't a headache but it took hours to shake the feeling. It was hard to sleep and I thought maybe I was experiencing cognitive dissonance. The main topic was the people on MSNBC telling me what the man they hate was thinking.

I can't speak for everyone else, but I think GENUINE gratitude is something that makes one feel better, instead of "just-dialing-it-in" gratitude. 😶

I also believe one has to have a certain level of SELF AWARENESS to be GENUINELY grateful. An example for me of GENUINE gratitude is when I'm driving, say, on 19th Ave in San Francisco I hit at least 8 green lights. Or if I'm crossing the Bay Bridge from SF there is a lack of traffic, that I can actually drive safely OVER the posted speed limit (Ditto for RETURNING to the Peninsula from the "toll booths")😶

I am grateful for warm showers, and if God would be so kind as to let me have a little more water pressure, I would be even MORE grateful. I meant to ask how many people are using alcohol on a daily basis and having to hide it?

E.g.- if you were to make $10 fee on a delivery and the customer tipped you $15, you should make $25. I heard that for 15 years Snoopy was drawn by Fidel Castro, as part of a peace settlement to end the Cuban Missile Crisis. Edit: Just Snoopy. Not the other characters. It was kind of a logistical nightmare, airlifting the incomplete comic strips back and forth each day, just for Snoopy to be drawn in. One thing about Castro … the man loved his Snoopy. Charles Schultz never spoke of the arrangement, for fear of creating a scandal. He was a class act, and a true patriot.

Regarding things that could happen to Nvidia. You should consider an investment in Nvidia equivalent to an investment in Taiwan. The more it looks like Trump will win the election, and the more valuable Taiwan becomes, the more China is likely to move on Taiwan before November. Especially since the legality of the situation, per the treaty they signed in 1952, China's claim on Taiwan is pretty good and recognized by all but 15 nations. I don't think Biden will fight as hard as he pretends to undo what is actually debatable (we are one of the 15) I think they are waiting for a good distraction or a particularly bad news cycle for the USA, then they will go blockade it and assert governorship (similar to Hong Kong) Nvidia will have a tough day that day.

Does one REALLY want an advanced "a.i." that will perhaps "see" in advance, what someone like Scott is doing? I have a hunch that even if one is HYPER pro technology, a development like that is NOT going to be without serious costs to be paid perhaps in "sweat"'and "tears" (Maybe even in "blood" too???) Re. comparing pot with alcohol: What percentage of daily pot users consume solely for medicinal purposes (legit cases only, not the people who invented fake complaints to get their licence to consume)? I would guess that number is under 5% of the total weed consumption that is going in the US. If so, then comparing the 95% recreational weed users with alcohol users is totally fair game.

State level Republicans are running short of cash to run their campaigns for 2024. They would normally get financial assistance from the RNC but after the Lara Trump takeover they don’t really have a great deal to spare. Where is all the money haemorrhaging to? You know the answer don’t you: Yes, it’s Trump’s legal fees. That could be a big problem for them in 2024. So sad.
