Nah bro it’s gotta be Daniel Bryan. He’s the best since Bret Hart. But Cody is a good Cena lol. HBK greatest of all time, and Triple H can lick my boots. Also huge Enzo fan over here lmao

Ppl just write him off because of the Buffalo thing, coming off on the wrong end vs Bret....Well, even if it was just one marine in Buffalo he might have been fried from party favors and Bret....is a borderline legit shooter.
Shawn really is a stickler for having a great match. I remember when he would blow up at guys for not selling a particular body part like Cena at WrestleMania 23. He just respects the psychology of wrestling so much🧨😭

Shawn took his craft very very seriously nothing wrong with that. We wouldn't have gotten the matches we got especially later on in his career like 2 back to back Taker matches if he didn't wrestle with that intensity
Shawn was special. In the 90s he was untouchable.

There was a reason Shawn was the best. He literally gave an eye for this shit. lol Sometimes you have to be an asshole. He didn't shoot the guys dog or sabotage his career. I think if Shawn says it there is a reason.
It's actually surprising to hear Shawn act like that. Does he cherry-pick the people he thinks he can get away with, with that sort of thing? I've never heard any other story of him getting physical with someone like that.

As much as I like Shawn, there are a few stories of him acting like his old self around this time, when he had supposedly reformed. He seems to be a completely different person from that time to now. I think he was on his best behavior when it came to people like Undertaker, who he wanted to earn their respect, but as you said, with lower card guys like Shane Helms and Cody, he didn’t seem to care.

Eh I'm not too shocked given the context. It was a PPV where a supposed up and comer who's also the son of the American Dream and brother of Goldust (Two incredible in ring workers) botched a super simple move that also happens to be Shawns finish. Not saying it's justified for Shawn to do what he did, but it's not surprising that he got super pissed imo

@@lukebrown5017 okay, but that isn't a bad strategy from a content creator perspective. Not everyone is going to be looking back and searching through years' worth of content from their portfolio. What's old is new again, as they say. Anyone bad-mouthing it just doesn't get it. I mean, we're all here, after all. It worked. Keeps them relevant while giving folks who may have missed the content an excuse to watch and helps to further promote all involved. It's a win-win.

I’ll put it out there. This is what AEW is missing. Those real full time players. Punk tried to get them to do it but they pushed him out. Also the grind that triple H spoke of the osprey to great offense to ! It’s not there.
Shawn Michaels was always a strong dude for his size. He body slammed Vader in 1996. He also threw Yokozuna and Vader out of the 1996 Royal Rumble at the same time. Even at this age now, I bet he's still stronger than most of the roster. Stronger than wimps like The Mysterio's, The Miz, Sami Zayn, Grayson Waller, Seth Rollins etc.

@@thelettern You know he didn't imply all the worst versions of "not mature" and "not humble" like you just did...from all the stories you hear from Cody himself, he always describes himself as immature at the time ("We weren't ready at the time, I mean Punk was, but I know I wasn't"). "Immature" doesn't automatically imply "90s HBK-immature" if that's what you think. And the same logic can be applied to his cockyness, mainly how he promoted himself in all the years between leaving WWE and returning...from the top of my head, and not verbatim, I can just remember the quote "I don't know why we thought we could wrestle 4 nights a month with the same consistent quality as if we wrestled 4 nights a week" which was a clear message about his lack of humbleness at the time. And again..."cocky" doesn't automatically imply "90s HBK cocky" if that's what you think.

Most viewers (even hardcore’s) will say Cody is just an average wrestler… But those same people are people who don’t think Triple H is top 5-10. Wrestlers like Omega, Osprey, AJ, etc. are amazing athletes and can do it all in the ring. Yet, guys like Cody, Triple H, Ric, and Dusty can have a program with anyone and make it matter. That’s why he’s the best in the world. That’s why him and Roman will go down as the greatest rivalry of all time

Well if the wrestlers would still what wrestlers did some would more be in jail than in the ring. So IDK wo says and makes the rule what a wrestlers has to do in is off time? No offense but some unwritten rules sometimes seem to be weird and make no sense, even more these days. Don't get me wrong. Some of the rules will make 100% sense and exist for a good reason but some are there because at some point at some time someone said "Well that's what wrestlers do!" and everyone else followed, maybe because that guy was just higher in the "food chain" than the rest.

@@theheartofpaddle lol picking on him? You wouldn’t have made it in the business that’s for sure. You obviously missed the part where Cody was taught a very good lesson which helped him grow. It s what mentors do, you are just probably thinking he should have pulled him aside quietly and tried not to offend him. Sorry bud, not everyone is a liberal pansy. Some folks respond better to in your face, matter of fact teaching. Cody didn’t even take as much offense to it as you did. As far as the other guys you mentioned….. not one of them were young greenhorns who thought they were already made…… Cody himself said he made the mistake of following Randy’s advice to act like his crap don’t stink. You are always going to be humbled by a vet in that business especially. It did more good than it did bad. Stop being so soft bro, you wouldn’t have done nothing about it had it been you either. Don’t lie to yourself.
Cody’s a great literal and figurative story teller
"Punk was right.....Punk's always right...."
Damn if any wrestler did that to someone else that would have been an automatic fight… I would have definitely not let another grown man do that no matter what ranking they are… plus Cody gimmick sucked ass back then so I guess he was scared of losing his job…
AEW made a huge mistake losing Cody.
Adrenaline in my soul
Cody should create a move and call it, "End of the road". Also then, maybe make a move and call it, "Dead end". Just a play on his name. Just a thought....
