I've been using cobra for nearly 6 years without issues, my model has been discontinued 1080 front and 720 rear. I accidentally broke the cable to the rear camera and for the price I'm just going to buy another Cobra because I know they work.

I've owned this dash cam for about 6 months now. the quality of the hardware is great and it actually performs much better over some other ones. the big down side is that the APPs are not from cobra but third party apps that are caca, if I would have know that the apps are useless I wouldn't have bought this dash cam, you will not get a video played on this app. thanks for the detailed review i actually learned some stuff about my camera I didn't know LOL.

Wym apps are useless I can view all the videos and download or screen record them no problem what else is the app used for ?

@@brandonUwanawich954 I got it working awhile ago, but every time I leave the app, I have to reconnect it and then it says it’s not near when the camera is right there. So videos are not getting recorded. That’s a huge issue for me. I drive trucks and I need to be able to show the video right then and there if something happens

@@tarannhill3112 try updating it I never have that problem when I close the app and then reopen takes about 30 seconds to re connect and all my videos are saved and if I do the emergency save then those videos are on a different folder my buddy had a issue too but I showed him how to work it and he never had the problem since then I might make a video showing how to use it correctly cause everyone is having issues with it

Parking mod requires a new hardwire kit that goes to your fuse box. I bought mine since I live in a condo with shared parking a d my truck has been robbed a lot this last yr. Now I need to go buy another 35$ kid after spending 216$ on the cam itself

My problem I'm having is in bright sunlight it goes dark. Then when I drive along a shady road or in the dark it comes back on. Any suggestions?

Every time l start my car the red light on the top left of the F camera is flashing. I can click on the button on the right bottom of the camera and the white numbers come on, but I have to do so each time I start the car. How can l get it to stay on permanently? I don’t know how you got the app to work because I haven’t gotten it to work at all

To recharge a cell phone away from home, there are small power packs, approximately the size of a fat cigar or a cigarette pack. They are basically external batteries with USB and mini USB connections. I am guessing that to have power while parked, just unplug the camera from the cigarette (ich!) lighter plug and plug it into the power pack. That is a comment not from experience, but a bright thought to check out. Might need a cable with the right end plugs to to the job.

How to turn on the camera?

I have had this cam installed for about a year and a half and the buttons on the bottom seem to now be "stuck" on pressed. Anyone else have this problem? Cannot control the bottom buttons at all.

How did you actually uninstall this camera after the review? Lol - I purchased and now need to return because, you’re right, more of a hinderance than it is convenient and straight forward. These stickies (to Cobra’s credit) just won’t unstick, and I don’t want to ruin the camera trying to uninstall it. Any ideas? Great video!

Wish I could view live video remotely via WiFi as advertised but seems this is not possible. Can’t seem to configure this unit to my vehicle WiFi.

The app forced an update on me and bricked the dash cam and won’t successfully update no matter how many times I try. Ridiculous

I gave the SC 400 and so far I can’t seem to view any of the clips. I have Drive Smarter and it doesn’t give me the same options he shows. I bought it at Best Buy and they’ve been no help. It doesn’t automatically link but it does work. I’m not feeling it was worth the $300.

Today Was My First Day In Using This Same Dash-Cam…The Clarity On It Is Okay…However, The App Is So Useless In So Many Ways…I Will Be Making Ah Review On It On My YOU-TUBE-Channel….Thank You….

Trucker. I have a 2022 GMC 2500HD Regular Cab and I am thinking about mounting the Cobra 100 on the rear window, facing forward of course. I do not like any clutter on my front windshield plus with the camera mounted very high on the rear window it will be difficult for thieves to see then possible steal. Trucker, can you comment on my idea?

The reason the front camera drops down when adding the second camera is because the storage would not be available.

My camera when trying to connect to Bluetooth tells me “systems not available” anyone els have that problem ?

Great review! i cant believe plugin in the rear would dip the res down. That is just bad engineering.

What about a cabin view for rideshare drivers. Drive smarter app is not very good.

Make sure you are using U1 and not U3. The crap software wants a lower end Micro SD card with the slowest speeds. I wonder how it can actually save true 4k with that speed? After dash cam too many times, fails to come on for whatever reason, Memory Error more times than I can count. I had to call Cobra and ask what the hell is this all about? U3 has far better performance and U1 is old school speeds when the Micro SD 1st started back in the day. I was seriously getting ready to toss the SC 400d out the window and go spend another $400 to $500 bucks for another dash cam. Boy, most dash cams are true garbage!

have always had one main question in regards to Dashcams like this, I always thought that Dashcams were mad like you said juswt so the driver would have evidence just in case they got into a accident, so are dashcams actually made just to record ONLY when a accident occurs, meaning, the camera wont start recording until lets say the accident starts to occur, hope you know what I mean, or are they made just to record all of the time, from the time you start driving, til the time you get done? Hope that I asked this the best way possible, thanks.....

@@Eduardo-xz8vh only way I’ve found is having to get an adapter for your memory card and putting it in your computer and deleting them that way

Mine doesn’t work with my Apple phone they said it has to do with the new iPhones !!!

It really is a POS confirmed by this excellent review.

Just installed the Cobra SC400D and see that I get a lot of RF interference on the AM bands of my car radio. The interference goes away when the camera is off. Buyer beware. I will contact the FCC about this and I hear that it is a common issue with dash cams. Wish I knew before laying out $600. THe interference occurred whether using the cabling kit or the USB charging port.

I bought this camera and I can’t find anywhere in the documents the Wi-Fi password

I like the dash cam. Just installed. AND Guess what The APP does not work.

I have had the SC 400d and I been having issues with the storage for sometime. After getting frustrated and getting tired of it. I called Cobra and they end up telling me I need to use U1 and not U3. WTF is up with that? So, this device has 4K video but requires the lowest end Micro SD card speeds? U3 is so much better and why this stupid annoyance with this dash cam isn't compatible with both Micro SD U1 and U3 makes no sense. U3 out performs U1 by far!

This dash cam is just horrible.It constantly loses Bluetooth connection.You cannot depend on this camera recording when you need it

Buyer beware. This was purchased as a sincere gift and little was know then. But upon setting this thing up, I discover I have to hook my rear view camera up to the front camera. In my truck, the provided cable won't even reach the front camera. But if it did, I would have two, not one, but 2... 2...2 wires hanging in my field of view. Ahh, and the connectors. Micro-USB connectors are dead end technology. Sheesh. Also, in the age of touch screen, this product is still using navigation buttons. Really? As for the required app(s). Is Cobra for real? They are useless, full of glitches and too, are virtual garbage. Other than the display quality, (eye candy), the rest of the SC 200D is nothing more than outdated junk. Reboxing this gem taking it back and looking for a more updated, streamlined product.

You need to be careful that the police don’t use it against you especially if it’s in their interest that you are guilty because you have the money
