Alright, I'm catching up on some old videos and GOD BLESS YOU and the Spargo kitchen. We have had bizarre weather here in the USA and today in Texas on Good Friday it is going to be cold. I have a tin of baby clams and was thinking of making my husband clam chowder but didn't know how to make it from scratch. Usually I open a soup can and throw in more stuff to make it better. I am DEFINITELY saving this vidoe in my YT collection of recipe videos. I have all the ingredients already in my fridge to make this claim chowder. Since my husband is Muslim and doesn't eat bacon I will swap it out for beef sausage because here in the South it's smoked and has a great smoky flavor. So excited to try this recipe tonight. Will use milk and heavy whipping cream.

The only thing i would do different is i would use at least 10 cloves of garlic. But i love garlic more then the average guy. Yes,to the dogfish and cook i think it is a good idea to get more people eating dogfish since all the videos i watch these are thrown back. I think its the name maybe if they were called something else more people would eat them. This would take some of the pressure off other overfished species. I make smoked turkey chowder with sweet corn and wild rice as an appetizer for Thanksgiving. People eat so much of it that they are full when its turkey and mashed potato time. I remember when I was 6/7 and my parents were in their 20’s (a very VERY long time ago) my dad took me whelk picking at our local patch at the weekend. I loved whelks and we got a ton of em that summers day. My dad cooked em all up and we got tucked in. When the weekend was over I begged my mum to let me take a bag of whelks to school and she foolishly let me. It was just before the summer holidays so it was really warm that day. I’m sure you can see were this is going John. Of course I ended up with bloody food poisoning and couldn’t stop vomiting and ever since then I can’t even look at a whelk. I do still love some cockles and scallops though. Especially scallops. I didn’t know you can find them just walking along the beach at low tide though. You learn something new every day.

Honesty, the combination of fresh ingredients and lovingly traditional techniques to put together these classic seafood meals is worthy of the Michelin inspectors visiting over maybe soon! 👀 I've only had Clam chowder twice, it's such a rarity to pick up on it in the City as it's unfavoured in rotation for nearly all Smart-casual restaurants. The beautiful, semi-sweet and briney flavor of the clams is honestly something else. I tried a bisque of clams at Angela's in Margate.
