Coast Guard The Video

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The United States Coast Guard in their 47 foot lifeboats doing rough seas training manuvers off the Humboldt and Chetco bar entrances. These men and woman put themselves in harms way to assist mariners throughout the globe in hazardous ocean conditions, helping small vessels, and large ships in distress along with search and rescue. Hope you enjoy the video as much as we had fun filming them.

    I hate people that talk shit about the Coast Guard, my dad has served for almost 20 years and has done so much to help people. I have so much respect for the people who are willing to do this. What other branch of the military fights in wars and protects our citizens here in the US in dangerous situations when no one else can but gets trash talked by all the other branches. The Coast Guard does so much more than people realize and they don't get the respect they deserve for their sacrifices.

    U.S. Coast Guard Aviator Lt. Jack Rittichier was shot down June 9, 1968 while attempting to rescue a downed U.S. Marine Corps pilot near the Laos border. He was assigned to the U.S. Air Force’s 37th Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Squadron. He was one of three Coast Guard exchange pilots serving in Vietnam at this time. It doesn’t matter which branch of the military you served in, you’re all honorable.

    You have to go out, you don't have to come back. These men and women are awesome. Almost 40 years ago, I got to interact with a lot of the Cadets at the Academy in New London, Ct. I have no doubt that the quality these men and women are the same today as it was back then. If I ever find myself in need of rescue on the open seas, I sure hope it's our U.S.C.G!

    Gary C they are a great gutsy bunch of blokes but if i was in troubles the RNLI is the one i would wish for, the RNLI went out in MOUNTAINOUS seas to save an Argentinian vessel in deep troubles close to the time of THE FALKLAND WAR 2 in the morning in pitch black for this they will always have my greatest respect

    @@polygamous1 are you saying that we don't? I ran a lifeboat that was over 59 years old and rated for 35ft swells and 25ft breaking waves and having self righting capabilities. I would put the Triumph and Invincible against any RNLI boat.

    Looks pretty good....never ran that boat myself....when I went in, we had 40s, 41s and assorted small boats (Whalers, Zodiacs, Sea Oxes,....)...my dream was always to go to surfman school in Cape D.....but never had the chance; ran small boats in the East coast and Puerto Rico .....never had a chance at heavyweather as Surfmen do...Loved the CG life......best job in the world......Semper Paratus!!

    Used to live in Brooking Oregon where the Chetco river bar is. Loved to go down and watch the old 44 footers do their thing out in the storm swells. You would see them roll all the way over once in awhile and come bobbing right back up! Sometimes missing an antenna or two LOL!!!

    I just found this site. The Coast Guard is well worth the boats and crews they field. The U.S. Gov. should increase their budget because they save more lives than any snarkie politician.

    it is still the best built hull to be used has a rescue boat. It was built like a tank. I have tried a few different models MLB 47 is by far better than newer rescue boats out there

    Why don’t they go inside the cabin and drive the boats?

  • @robdog1245

    @robdog1245

    Better visibility up top, all their electronics are up there, and the ‘cabin’ isn’t actually set up to drive, it’s just there as part of the boat.

    Harsh weather? That ain't shit. Try a 378 foot cutter in the north Atlantic. These guys are good, but this is play time to they. Take it from one of the Old Guard. Watch the movie "Perfect Storm". Then you'll get to see what these guys really can do.

    There's a very good reason, you cannot accurately read the waves sitting low, with water on the windows smearing what you're looking for. You have to be outside and up for clear visibility, the cabin is for survivors.
