Was 12 years old for the one in 64 this one came a couple years before retardant. Now live in Idaho on a hill.
I was stationed there in 2007/2008 as a non-rate. Was even lucky enough to be a crewman during two boat training in the surf. It’s amazing the force you feel in those MLBs as the wave hits the bow and you’re left using every ounce of strength to hold on despite being clipped in to the boat. Good times!
4+ crewmen in the flying bridge WAY ABOVE the center of buoyancy - VERY POOR seamanship, especially for Coasties.
I found your video great. The scenery is so beautiful. Wish I could go there once. Thank you so I found your video great. The scenery is so bea. I like too. Good like tooooo..,,....!!!!.!!.!.!!!!.’
Tillamook bay 44s and one of the last 36s (When men were steal and boats were wood)

SEMPER PARATUS
it is still the best built hull to be used has a rescue boat. It was built like a tank. I have tried a few different models MLB 47 is by far better than newer rescue boats out there
Вот. Вы пиратики , мамы на вас нету , \ху(^ганны!
По русски , сразу , дурью вы маетесь , нету на вас мамы..!😂😥🙏🤗
What tune is this. Anyone?
Semper Paratus, Hotel 114 Alameda California ...!!
I want this boat to go fishing in 😂
A whale in a river, Very Strange. 🤯 Wow, You don't see that every day. 😳👍
What is the music? Nice tune!
Every year at least one tourist thinks to get an up close view by standing on wall of the North Jetty (or what's left of it after years of being pummeled by the ocean) and gets wept off and bashed to death on the rocks. One year a guy parked his pickup by the wall with his kid and let waves crash over the wall and his pickup. After a few of those he drove off in his future rust bucket.
Man I miss it there
Rough seas? Hello Cape D when the Bar is up. This is playtime.
Surf school. I love these boats, but The Triumph will always be my fav.
I love the 47's, but my true love is for The Triumph. If you know anything about the Pacific, you'll know what I mean.
Active Sonar from the US Navy caused the whales to escape into the river and die.
In oh
I sailed the whole west coast In winter I go to port and avoid these conditions Those are the 47’ MLB manned life boats of the coast guard doing heavy surf training Awesome surfing in the video
GO COAST GUARD!!!
🤘
I just found this site. The Coast Guard is well worth the boats and crews they field. The U.S. Gov. should increase their budget because they save more lives than any snarkie politician.
Why don’t they go inside the cabin and drive the boats?
Better visibility up top, all their electronics are up there, and the ‘cabin’ isn’t actually set up to drive, it’s just there as part of the boat.
Used to live in Brooking Oregon where the Chetco river bar is. Loved to go down and watch the old 44 footers do their thing out in the storm swells. You would see them roll all the way over once in awhile and come bobbing right back up! Sometimes missing an antenna or two LOL!!!

What happened to the guy that went overboard
Theres a nice dry cabin yet the people expose themselves to harsh conditions outside?
Harsh weather? That ain't shit. Try a 378 foot cutter in the north Atlantic. These guys are good, but this is play time to they. Take it from one of the Old Guard. Watch the movie "Perfect Storm". Then you'll get to see what these guys really can do.
There's a very good reason, you cannot accurately read the waves sitting low, with water on the windows smearing what you're looking for. You have to be outside and up for clear visibility, the cabin is for survivors.
Lets see, stormy, windy, rough water - "Yep, looks like we should stay outside and torture ourselves. No point in using a nice dry and protected cabin, right?"
The music ruined the upload... Click off..

They may not be 18 but they are definately bigger than 5 where they are breaking. I have been out in 5' and there is no way in hell I would go out the inlet in that shit.
One hard-working boat!
