It's strange, how this preview is, for me, the best version of the song I've heard. It's almost perfect.
The birds sing along with a beautiful soul
Just love accoustic versions of songs. As they, Jimmy and emily have said, the song has to pass "the camp fire test" whoch means it souds great accoustically as well as all decked out with the full band and instruments, this is one of those songs, as all metric song are. Great job. Having played guitar, I have an appreciation. For accountic music as well.
Reminds me of a very dark time in my life. But also lifts me through it 'cause of this song.

Me too 😪
Metric NEEDS to release an acoustic version of Fantasies in its entirety. I saw them at a free show in Albany NY where they played 6 songs off it on acoustic/piano. The new album didn't grab me until I had heard the songs in acoustic form. Emily's voice shines through best like this when its not all overproduced. The nuances in her beautiful voice need to be heard, not masked with all the studio processing and behind millions of synthesizers.
I love this... it has a very REAL quality to it... something that most music is lacking nowadays... here is music in its raw un-adulterated form and its beautiful just the way it is.
i keep going back to this video. absolutely magical.
i love how they connect with eachother...constantly looking at back and forth...just makes the song even more beautiful :)
omg WHY is she so perfect???
Notice how the lyric changed over the years from "here comes the sun" to "she's come undone"
I love how she isn't afraid being raw! Guts, Emily has it!
i love this woman
Simply beautiful.I must have her ican't live without her anymore!I Love You
Emily's singing has improved drastically since this.
Superb. They're amazingly talented.
lol I love the bird at the end of the song at 3:25 it goes to show you how great this song really is!
My favorite new band...
YES this made the new album too!!!!!!
She's Come Undone is referencing a Guess Who song. Too bad they didn't keep those lyrics, but I imagine it was a decision to make the lyrics more accessible to the public. Referencing a Beatles song as opposed to the Guess Who song Undun.
LOVE this song. LOVE it. Her voice is perfect for it, and I like their style, too. They remind me of everything that was best about being young. On a scale of 1 to 10 on the cool factor meter, I'd give them a 15.
i love emily haines!!!!
her voice is soo soothing
TORONTO TALENT
Mike Shinoda is a big fan of this metric band... i feel soooo bad i couldn't watch them in my own country.
That was amazing! Thanks
WONDERFUL. they are so good
Beautiful! pure talent1 her voice is amazing!
me too. i totally agree with you man.
@latinavip you're so right. Even anyone that watched "The Rawside of... Metric" would know that.
wow this is beautiful
@ZombiesUnderrMybed yes your right and i never knew i was listening to her on Broken Social Scene songs.
Yeah, please have this version on the new album. Even as a bonus song or something would be fine.
Love the birds chirping in the background...
I absolutely love Metric.
2 things. 1. She change the lyrics in this, it's not like the studio version, i like the studio version LYRICS better. But i love her! 2.The birds sang along with her! That's so cool! They actually sang along a little! Goes to show how amazing she is!
she's beautiful
amazing emily. ur voice is magic
They are the freshest thing since fresh was invented. Best capable vintage throwing trans-dimensional overtime cafe. Best band ever.
metric is awesome
Cool song; does sound young, for a moment I feel young before I go back to feeling old. That's actually worth a lot.
AHHH i love this so much, i want this song on my ipod this version!
The guy always looks in love with her...
I have their newest album "Fantasies" and the lyrics are "Come on baby, play me something like 'Here Comes the Sun'." If YOU were a real fan and actually HAD the album (which includes lyrics to every song), YOU would know. However, bands have poetic license to change the lyrics however they wish when performing. That being said, the published lyrics are "like Here Comes the Sun"(a Beatles' song). Also, Emily JUST referenced them in asking who you would rather be - them or the Rolling Stones. . .
its amazing, ella canta muy chido
beautiful Voice. great job.
"My favorite version of the song." i agree :)
beautiful (: i love it, 5 stars.
i really hope they put this version in the new album!!!
Wow, she's beautiful.
thanks buddy
I think its just a place at Coachella that Spin magazine has for various acts to come and lay down a song acoustically.
I
the sun glasses are so their heads don't explode from it.
Hadn't heard the acoustic version of this, it's great : )
Glad she changed the line to 'Here Comes The Sun." I hope this cd finally breaks Metric big in the USA and elsewhere, they richly deserve it.
@AcousticLvr22 yeah yeah, even the bird is cheering for'em!
I like this version better than the one on the record.
Rico!!!!!!
Still good
Great song, i love the birds in the background at points
@MJCastellanos... its a song by The Guess Who...one of their more famous ones. I assume Emily changed it to "here comes the sun" to connect to the line with beatles. However, The Guess Who are Canadian (as is metric), so maybe thats why it was the original lyrics? pretty interesting though...
Metric Live @ Your Local Golf Course!!!
@stallisman other way around, this is before they had decided on the final lyrics, and I kinda like it better this way, would be cool to see this version in concert :)
better yet, check out VV Browne on Black Cab sessions...incredible power. Kudos to those who try, admiration to those who can :)
i usually don't really like female vocals, but this is awesome!! I really like her voice

God, how can one love music and not like female vocals?
EADAC#E
This is great, lover her voice! A quick song on the first tee before heading out for a round of golf? ;-)
I'm not sure of the model/number but it's referred to as a "Jumbo" style body shape...that one has maple back & sides. If you google Gibson and go to their website, you should be able to search their Jumbo models and find it...but get ready for a high price tag!! Like 2-3K!!Epiphone makes one very similar for around $400 and sells in Sam Ash music stores or online
pre-order does
just use your ears its a lot more fun figuring out something yourself than relying on tab and sooner or later transcribing by ear will be the only way for you to get better good luck and have fun! i do agree its a good song
★★★★★
i
well her whispy voice is one of the things that make this band unique! try listening to the original song it probly wont sound as whispy to you
Emily's glasses are huuuuge! or maybe she just has a small head xD Can't wait for the new disc.. supposed to be this year.. let's hope it won't get pushed further 'cause I'd crack and kill.. kill a fly. Or two!
I can't find this song anywhere
She sounds like Olga from Hey Arnold
I know this because I'm friends with Jimmy. No need to try and bash my comment. I'm just stating the facts. These were the original lyrics back in 2008. I was there. They played around with the lyrics a lot they even changed the name and not only to this song song.
@stallisman no I think youve got it backwards, wasnt this a preview? and "...Here Comes the Sun." makes much more since in context ... who listens to The Guess Who anyways?
I am not really into that who has better rock bands shit. US, Britian, and Canada all have had a huge influence on the world. But there is so much more out there. Have you guys heard of Franciscomeza11 here on KZread. From South America, now living in Canada? I just lve how KZread is making the music of the world available to me right here in good ol North Carolina!
I thought it was "C'mon play me something like, here comes the sun" which would make more sense since the song talks about the beetles and the stones.
Awesome version of gimme sympathy. Wish the guitarist could pick up the harmonies, but still very cool!
....like "here comes the sun"
The Beatles. :)
Did they intentionally cut the 1st bridge short or did Jimmy save the day!?
Anyone have a tab for this?
good music; people say that their aint no good music any more but thats not true. people give up on music because there are ass holes in and who take over the music industry who care only about making money and perverting the masses with garbage and ccomericialized garbage (its like a nuclear bomb only with music) and that is why we should never ever give up on younger generations music and look for the good and not focus only on the fiflth, rot and american idle garbage.
ahh ok... even though i dont think it is( i rly like it) i respect your opinion friend :) Stay well
not hard. beginning is palm muted A5, E5, F#5, B5 than the rest of the chords all have their roots on the 2nd string so... 0:47 D major chord with the root beginning on the second string, and E major chord with root on second string again, chords have root note on 2nd string: chorus is F#m with a tiny bit of finger work, D major, A major, C#m end of chorus 1:18 chords are D major and A major i just heard this on the radio and came and figured it out i didnt do the rest but shud be similar
although it did help to know that it;s not standard tuning
acoustic
beautiful acoustic version :D i prefer the original more tho
ok can anyone determine what tuning he used for his guitar. I I know he messed with the 1st string, i thought he tuned it to D but I might be wrong. I desperately want to cover this accurately but the tuning is screwing with me.
you do know there are diferent versions of this song right?
@Kokoska1234 1:04
honestly can metric release these as some acoustic songs, because i want to download this stuff so bad but i dont like the originals nearly as much
What the heck is a Coachella Pad?
some people say that her voice is bad when she sing acosticly but is it jst me but that kinda rhaspy voice turns me on :D
latinavip, you're basically saying "only real fans would know that they changed the lyrics and melodies a lot until the finished product was released". Music is there for everyone to enjoy, not just the fans who NEED to know everything about a band they want to follow. The fact that liltwistedangel69 (and I don't agree with her statement - she/he should have researched it) even knew Emily's name shows that she/he is SOMEWHAT of a fan. Dont tell fellow music lovers to stfu. You kill the fan base
@mummeb0y Hate to disappoint but a lot of Metric's songs are about sex, or sexual topics.
dammit Emily Haines! stop distracting me
