I seen some of your videos after I got a ball stuck in my .50 cal. traditions st. Louis Hawken rifle. I've been able to get stuck balls out before but this time is being seriously difficult. I noticed when your loading yours the ball goes down fairly easy. Mine is difficult, you have to give it some push to get it down the barrel. I'm sure it's the right size ball and I use lubed .015 patches. I'm gonna try the one method you used of putting powder in the bolster. Your videos are very informative and entertaining. I don’t have one of those but I always thought the stuff that comes with the those tire inflators might work. Maybe you thought about that? Another thing is removing those screws on a Flintlock to get the plate off. Seems the gun I built one time had the spring that holds the ramrod being held in place by the forward screw. Could be tough if it moved while shooting out the patch and ball.

Love your videos and your passion forBlack powder rifles….here comes the big but… you are shooting a .480 ball in what I am assuming is a .50 cal gun, watching you push the patch and ball down the barrel it looks like the ram rod has very little resistance almost falling in. I can’t ever remember shooting a .480 ball in a .50 cal gun. I have loaded a patch and (.495 ball ) in my .50 cal with no powder it was one real SOB to get it out. My concern here is that you are not getting a real test with a load that I would shoot or that most people shoot. I always thought if you want accuracy you want a tight fit. Take no offence here I love all you do just thought a tighter fit would be a better test

Sir, I HAVE THOUGHTS. Duck or swerve or dodge when nessecary as my though are bigmungous. Co2 is Great, never let anyone convince you anything is better IT IS NOT I HAVE TTTRRRIIIEEEDDD. ONE THING IS BETTER Compressed Air. But you WILL NOT get Co2 Canister Power from a shop compressor, WE HAVE TRIED. What you need is an HPA Tank, just a lil one. And an HPA Compressor. Just a lil one. And a regulator. Any quality one, then a hose just a lil one. And then probably just stick a compressor nozzle on the other end of the hose. Maybe a big one. Boooy, Co2 is trash as soon as is get frosty. The alternative Gases like Green, Red, White, and Black are just weak, and unpredictable whatever they are and still freeze. You CAN find HPA Hand Pumps and if you need more for your workout routine, great. Once a year you might have a full half pressurized can of air. If you have money you can even get a carbon fiber Air-Rifle, Airsoft/Paintball tank and the small ones are still big compared to the biggest Co2 canister and about as light as one too. Because weight is important and its easier to pack by volume. Being Tanks, you could even fill a monster for base camp and have a water bottle sized one for the field. HPA Tanks run strong on pressure for a while because there is so much pressure. My tank is like 3.l 4000psi. On paper the shops tell me I'm good for around 2500 shots but, I lay thick sniper bbs at long range in semi auto with pin point accuracy with enough force that impact to wood makes people jump. Easily getting 4000 shots before needing a refill. So they lie, on paper. We use two 4l 4000 PSI Tanks to run our Minigun. Again, we have no chill, high power, high magnum, full go. We stop wanting to waste bbs long before gas running out, for a half dozen hours or so. The important thing to take away from bragging about how damn good i am I overwatch is this; We use the Best Gases, always and Whenever possible, as desired. We swap anything Co2 to HPA by taping a new valve into it. You just don't get the same power and power consistently with a Co2 canister It's fine for a side arm, its easy enough to work with. But, I can put holes in ply wood if I want to, with a little plastic bb. Co2 can't do that! Now, now that everyone is convinced. HPA IS DE WAE. The cheapest best route would be a new 100 dollar steel 1.5 litre 3000 psi air rifle tank. A mid tier regulator, like a $70 Amped SLP. AND literally any choice of designer braied hose line. I like 🍊. Any harware air nozzle should work since everything we use is universal 🇺🇸 or at least Crown Units because everyone plays airsoft now, pretty much. Or, Australians Play "Gel Blasters" but its litterally the same guns looking like space blaster shooting with Orbeez Then fill it at a Paintball, Airsoft, or Scuba Shop. Usually for free however, a decent little HPA Compressor is like 200 bucks and run forever if you take care of them, IF YOU TAKE CARE OF THEM, STEVE! Great on the field, awful team captain sometimes I SWEAR. We need a compressor because the lazy LMG Marine couldn't change out some dirty water. Lord, give me some airforce, or navy, or at least coast gaurd. I am a guerilla and my whole team are grunts. You could find a used tank, but they technically expire so... I don't know mines old, I don't much care or notice. Hasn't blown up yet.

Oh, and because Co2 comes out so cold it obliterates valves and o rings faster. I tell you, manufacturers either don't know, or don't care because every single weekend someone is complaining about a Co2 valve. I can submerge like a seal and pop out shooting. Co2 would freeze my shit solid, for sure. (I run a Kythera, Other Airsoft Nerds, no computers, thats how 😅) Oh AND BE AWARE some Co2 and Green Gases are Preloaded with Grease. Technically gun grade but you still might not want it.

What is being said is; For a 300 dollar investment you could build a mobile compressed air gun, with parts very over-engineered for your needs and so could outlive probably most everyone here if maintained literally at all. For another 200 you can have the compressor to fill it in ten minutes. I read the other comments and I think I answered ALOT of questions but I will be damned if I'm gonna go through and tag-comment everyone!!! Maybe do a theory episode, then rig a model, then sell the prototype. Lol. I don't think anyone else is doing it.😮 If you get rich all I ask for is a Pendersoli 10gauge Fowler so I can chop that hoity toity over priced itallian art peice into a double barreled "Blunderedbusted" and swap it out for 209 for ~ versatility. Because my home was built in the 30's it would never support a full cannonade. . Yar.

One of my edits didn't save so let me make a footnote. A Small Fiber Glass HPA Tank is about 4 times the size of a Large Co2 Canister by volume and holds pressure at 5× the Magnitude but weighs, probably less. Since they are Tanks, you can even own a very large one for any base camps, then simply fill a smaller water bottle sized one off of it for the field. The capacity is almost hard to comprehend I'm not gonna lie, because they are so small and light.
