Stephen also stated a very good fact that if you wish to migrate to a country you first learn it's language.

You have no clue what journalism is. Journalists aren't just your stenographers. They are knowledgeable, creative people who, in addition to doing the hard work of getting information the general public doesn't have access to, have subjective insight to offer the public, based on their specialized experience. Nobody just goes to journalism school aspiring to mindlessly relay information. They all want to have a positive impact on the political discourse and people's thoughts. The good news for you (no pun intended) is that you have access to a variety of journalists with disparate views, and YOU can weigh the all facts AND opinions to determine for YOURSELF which information is meaningful. Nobody is forcing you to think anything, but nobody is going to stop giving their take on things simply because you don't want to hear them. And if what you're really worried about is the influence journalists might have on other people's opinions, too bad. Those people can choose to agree or disagree, just like you can. Think. Don't expect to be spoonfed.

He said the UK and Australia bc they're the largest countries with English as a FIRST LANGUAGE. Everyone else who speaks English does so as a 2nd language. Meaning many (not all) have learned English to varying degrees PRIOR to possibly immigrating to the US. Miller saw an opening to distract from his feet being held to the fire and he ran with it.

Acosta looked like such a fool. He has no idea the real reason for the poem. Mr. Miller did a fabulous job handling this no nothing actor pretending to be a reporter to get a sound bite.

A_I Asshole, I didn't hear any logic. He was trying to be clever by saying "ahistorical" and sidetracking about the date of the inscription, but it made him look weak and silly, like a real lightweight. If he had just answered the question like an adult he might have looked somewhat competent. The reporter said it does not seem like the new policy is in keeping with America's tradition of accepting the "tired, poor, weak, huddled masses" of immigrants, with welcoming arms. Trump wants to mandate incoming immigrants to have money, and advanced educations, and have already learned to speak English. No huddled masses appear to be allowed. If Miller has just answered the question, instead of going into angry attack dog mode, attacking the questioner and and trying to convince reporters that the poem actually doesn't mean anything because of the date it was inscribed, then he might have appeared like an actual adult, and garnered a little respect. Instead, he looked like a weak, foolish, angry child who was not capable of answering a question like an educated adult.

Jim Acosta did not 'speak well' for CNN. He was ignorant, and he was rude. I thought that the purpose of press briefings is for the reporters to Ask Questions; it is Not the purpose for reporters to give speeches. Perhaps the answer is to change how press briefings are conducted. Limit the number of reporters, don't always have the same reporters there (give other reporters a chance to be there) and most important, have a written Code of Behavior that the reporters must follow, or they will be expelled and not allowed to return. Many in the MSM (mainstream media) are trying desperately to change the purpose of press briefings.- The purpose is for the White House to brief the Press the purpose is Not for the press to 'brief' the White House'. The mainstream media has its own newspapers, TV stations, radio stations, etc. for doing that. Recent behavior of many in the mainstream media is similar to a bull in a china shop - Along with their disseminating a lot of 'Bull' in the process.
