I am a sucker for tragic love. It reaches the deepest places of my heart. Clerith is one of if not the best ships of all time. Theres no such thing as an objective love story. We see the love these two hold and thats enough. Their love is wise and gentle, joyful and compassionate.

They compliment each other so well. Their romance/love is so pure. How can anyone see this pairing and not feel their heart strings tug? ❤

I’ve always loved the relationship between Cloud and Aerith, they share a special connection that no one else has. It’s a doomed romance, for Cloud, she’s the kindness he never knew….and for Aerith, he’s the shadow of a love, fate denied her.

Beautiful😭❤️ this isn't about which ship is better anymore. this is about them, Clerith. they share a special connection and their bond are unbreakable. The love that can never be yet so beautiful at the same. It feel so right.

I love this video so much. At this point I don't even know how many times I've watched it. Hearing her say "and if I wasn't?" at 3:11 was so bittersweet. Here's to hoping for a happier ending for Aerith in the conclusion of the third part of the remake.

I was crying like crazy when I first watched the Clerith scenes because they're just the sweetest but at the same time, the most heartbreaking. Can't wait for the Part 3 and see how everything will unfold. I'll always love our flower girl and bodyguard🌸☁️.

Aerith is just so precious 😭... id say im more an Aerith fan than a Clerith fan, but im also someone who loves a beautiful love story and thats something that Cloud and Aerith have. Even if their love story is tragic this adds to the depth of their love... a love that exists beyond life and death... a love that exists in all timelines and multiverses... a love that is the purest form of love which will always involve sacrifice... its not lust... it is love... Aerith is the heart and soul of FF7 as well as Cloud's beloved ❤

@@type3rotik463 yeah in the main world but there's also the "multi-verse" stuff happening which is also relevant. when cloud blocked sephiroth's sword there was a rainbow hue appearing and we were shown that same rainbow hue in situations in which a character was making a choice to "defy fate" so it has to mean something, most likely that cloud managed to save aerith in another world. granted we don't know for sure what the rainbow hue means but this is my assumption based on what they showed us on the last chapter. a lot of people seem to think everything we see in the ending is either just a red herring or cloud being delusional but i personally believe that the stuff they added has a meaning and that everything will eventually be explained and make sense in the end... hamaguchi said we'd get the payoff to all the mysteries that have been set-up in part 3. i think they'll follow the same story beats for the most part in part 3 and then ending of the trilogy will be new and different. sephiroth wants to merge all the worlds together and considering the huge amount of foreshadowing of "lovers reuniting" in the loveless play, the lyrics of main theme the song of rebirth and little hints throughout both games i think there's a huge chance of that happening.

@@huh3085 you can make multiple theories based on the ending. the devs themselves said they made the ending in a way that it leads to multiple interpretations. i could be right, i could be wrong but it's the theory i believe in for now at least. i personally don't think everything we see in the ending is just a product of cloud's hallucinations. he is obviously delusional in the sense of not understanding that aerith did die in their world and the party can't see her, i think that's the one thing most people can agree on. regardless if aerith lives in another world he'll have to confront the fact that she died in their main world one way or another but i very much believe that a lot of the stuff he's seeing in the end is actually real, he just doesn't understand the full context behind it (and we don't either). the devs have previously said that the big twist will be less about an "unreliable narrator" and more about an "unreliable world"... that said, everyone is free to believe what they want until pt3, there's no real confirmation over what exactly happened.

This is my starting point, to understanding them. Cloud is Aerith's bodyguard, hired in exchange for a date. This is how I interpret their relationship. Cloud agreed to be her protector. In return, Aerith would shower him with her love and affection. Cloud was willing to protect her for as long as she would love him. Isn't that what you call true love?

Cloud was afraid of confessing his feelings to her not only because he's shy but also because he thought she still has feelings for Zack. He did it after she made him sure that she wants to be with Cloud. I wish I could know what he said to her. Whatever it was, Aerith smiled to Cloud.

But yeah I'm pretty sure they will somehow tell us that Cloud has feelings for Aerith, just like they told us that Aerith loves Cloud (clotis are still trying to deny it lol, even if SE got bored of the "She likes him because of Zack" thing and gave us the most straight answer they could've done). I'm also looking forward to their reunion.

This is sooo beautiful, oerfect, and heartbreaking

If they bring Aerith back to life in the next game, I think it would be awesome to have her and Cloud reunite at the church (Our Spot) and to have Aerith giving Cloud another flower, because "lovers use to get these when they were reunited". It's perfect to bring their relationship full circle, but subtle enough to keep the love triangle going. EDIT: Just realized after watching their last date again, when Cloud picks a gift for Aerith it doesn't matter what the players chooses, Aerith always receives that pin with two flowers on it, yellow flowers...

i think there's a high chance of something like that happening, they've been alluding at the "reunion" for the longest time regarding the timelines/realities and the rebirth theme song also alludes to a possible reunion between cloud and aerith and it mentions "our street" (the street where they first met) and "our place" (the church) so i could see them possibly meeting at one of those places. i have no idea how the 3rd game will end but i don't mind if it's still a bittersweet ending as long as cloud and aerith have the chance to reunite.

I need to say this first, if others complain about spoilers, it is on them they shouldn’t watch videos or read comments until they finish the game. I believe Aerith will reunite with Cloud, she wrote the song No Promises to Keep, it’s like her message to Cloud of how he can meet her, she also tells him on the beach he will love her future self. “My Dream” is not the future Aerith she talks about Cloud meeting on the beach, because Cloud is also in the present moment in her my dream and Cloud knows something is different about Aerith and kept asking her why was she acting weird and in the woods Aerith tells him she wants to find the REAL him, this is how sync they are they, they both know when something is off with each other. What does Red say to Aerith about the materia? Knowledge and memories this I won’t spoil about what I think will happen, but it’s going to be good. No Promises awaits at the Journeys End and the song No Promises to Keep plays and Cloud will love the future Aerith that he will meet and reunite with at their place in game 3.

all of the above for me. they’re friends with complicated, growing romantic feelings that they can’t ever fully explore because of their limited time and circumstances. regardless if people see them romantically or platonically, they have a very spiritual soulmate-like bond that’s the heart of ff7 imo.

But undoubtedly, they are “friends” with a very special bond that they share with no other. It’not that they don’t have feelings for each others, it is unfortunate that they have to part ways too soon to officially become anything more than more than friends. It’s sad but it also allow their love to transcend above regular romance. Like it’s not about romance anymore, it’s sth deeper, like it’s just pure love, a love that can’t be or shouldn’t be defined or categorized.

Gonna be honest when the haptic feedback scene with us holding a sword over Aerith happened i almost had an emotional breakdown just like cloud as sephiroth tried to make him kill her to "motivate" him and also break cloud's spirit and leftover mental sanity. I was crying during the finale of the game. I am one who felt cloud as a character was treated horribly in the OG so remake series focusing so heavily on his character made me remember why i love the character so much. I am not ready for part 3. Also tired of all the people trying to say what happened in Rebirth or calling cloud delusional for still seeing her cause she pets red when he gets all depressed to try and cheer him up and he feels her presence so would that make Nanaki delusional for feeling her too? The goodbye was more than bitterwsweet as well. The only thing i don't like much currently is the direction of the black materia storyline. Its not explained how sephiroth has control over it and also how it can alter memories. It was only explained as a materia that could end the world and made of malice and capable of mass destruction so cloud turning back into sephy junior after being terrified he still had it at the end of rebirth really irritated me cause it also made Rebirth's journey feel kinda pointless since all the development and help cloud recieved was rendered meaningless by a materia with insane plot armour.

Things will be different in game three. Remake especially Rebirth gives so many clues you just need to figure them out. Once you figure it out you will be smiling knowing what might happen in game three.

i agree, cloud is not completely delusional. they already established that the multi-verse is real so we can't just ignore that aspect... if you go back and re-watch scenes it's pretty clear that cloud created a new timeline in which aerith lives by blocking sephiroth's sword and the rainbow colors appearing (which was shown to happen whenever someone makes a choice to change fate). things then get confusing bc they keep switching between timelines and the rest of the party arrives and they only see her dead so it's easy to think cloud has just gone crazy thinking he saved her at first however there's more to it than that bc cloud seems to be stuck in between timelines but he also seems to be seeing a lifestream version of aerith so i don't think he's imagining her there, it's just that only he can see her, whether it's her in another timeline or her in lifestream form. i do think they're playing up the "cloud is an unreliable narrator" especially with the rest of the party since they are aware that his mind is broken but unaware that he has seen and experiences things others haven't so it's gonna be harder for them to trust him once he starts talking like aerith never died and stuff like that. obviously we'll only know the answers when part 3 comes out but to me it feels like everything is true: she died in our timeline but she was saved in another timeline, cloud sees her in lifestream form and others don't and he can also see things others don't (which he already did way before her death). so i think he is delusional in the sense of him thinking that he saved her in our timeline however he did save her, it's just that it's a different timeline that the rest of the party can't access. i think in part 3 aerith from that timeline will reunite with everyone or at the very least with cloud, there's been way too much foreshadowing and hints to that happening and also "worlds merging". as for the rest of the plot and the black materia idk what will happen...

​@@ugh5281Yeah, he probably created a new timeline. When he comes to his friends watching Aerith's body, they all dissapear probably because they're in the OG timeline while he moved into a new one. That's why they can't see him nor they do. But he comes to her body, and he says "Aerith. Wake up." and she regains consciousness which probably means that she's alive in this timeline.
