Aerith is worth crawling across space and time to find. I would be lying if I said I didn't want to see them physically reunite and kiss in Episode 3. After almost 30 years, it would be vindication for everybody who could see how much they really do love each other and the regret not being able to save Aerith and just having a little more time with Cloud.

i have a idea. we see the intro with aerith being pushed and the flowers dropping on the ground. we hear zack voice saying ,how much for the flower? while she is picking them up and when aerith goes to pick the reunion flower a man hand is already picking it up as she touches it with a shook expression. zack says ,i dont think she heard me, cissnei voice shushes him. we see its cloud holding the flower saying, i dont have much gill but i got an extra ticket for the play, a date oughta do it, smirking. aerith remembers that line and smiles back, he places the flower on her head and they embrace going towards the play in a double date.

Aerith is my favorite FF character playing Remake and Rebirth got me to fall in love with her way more, and her background story is my favorite from the other characters. And was so happy I got both dates with Aerith in my first playthrough of Rebirth

Cloud will meet Aerith in a field with flowers, Aerith will be waiting for him next to a tree. This tree has appeared a few times since the Remake was announced, in addition to it reflecting in the white matter at the end of Rebirth.

Hollow, the credit song from Remake, is a song from Cloud's perspective and it's clearly about Aerith. No Promises To Keep is a song from Aerith's perspective and it's pretty clearly about Cloud. So maybe the theme song for part 3 could be a duet between the 2 of them. Would tie everything together with a nice little bow.

I'm thrilled that Aerith got her love song towards Cloud. I adore this melody, alongside "Eye on Me" and "Suteki Da Ne."

Ofc for part 3 we are still going to see Cloud being still irritated by Sephiroth messing with his mind. Remember, Aerith told him that she is trying to find the real Cloud and we may get him in part 3. The reunion needs to happen with a great twist. Just like Sephiroth said that everything changes when bounds of fate is being altered. Prob having like an Endgame scenario, but i hope Cloud doesnt die after Aerith returns and beats Sephiroth once and for all

Totally agreed. Clerith is one of the best romances I've seen in fiction.

I think there's going to be some hella multiverse stuff in the next game where he saved aerith or at least I hope so. The whole sephiroth battle was basically a multiverse so it's possible that there are many timelines and maybe just maybe cloud managed to save her. They are literally my favourite final fantasy ship and I will be so sad if they don't reunite

You think hollow is sang by Cloud? I would think that Zack is the one "singing it", Cloud in that scene is practically unconscious and doesn't even know Aerith yet. And I'd rather have Aerith with Cloud, but just trying to be consistent with the story here.

He doesn't say that Hollow is intended for Aerith, just that it's written from Cloud's perspective, but the way both songs are intertwined (from "this time I will never let you go" to "take my hand and never let me go" amongst other passages) must mean that both are talking to each other through these songs. However, they seem to be written by versions of Cloud and Aerith that know how the original story ended, not their present versions in the story when the songs are played for the first time. That last part was what made everything confusing, since the lyrics are based on things that didn't take place yet. Damn, now I'm pumped. Remake song was Cloud's belief that he'll save her this time around, and Rebirth's song is Aerith's belief that he'll find her again. It would be a massive disappointment if all this hype leads to nowhere and they just repeat the original drama all over again.

Square... please make Cloud and Aerith reunite in the last game (part 3) You made one of the best relationships between characters... they deserve a great ending!!

Aside from just assuming that it’s about ZA because of their past relationship, what evidence do they have? Because I’ve not heard or seen anything to convince me it is. 1. The lyrics clearly detail where and how CA met. Cobblestone, our street, struggling against crowds. All these relate to their meeting, as ZA met in the church. 2. She looks slightly to the right at Cloud after saying “until I met you” regardless of where the other’s are stood. 3. The singer and composer have confirmed it’s a love song about CA. 4. “This time I’ll never let you go” from “Hollow” can even connect to “Take my hand and never let me go” from “No Promises to Keep.” 5. The play she sings during is even called Loveless, which also happens to be the name of the street CA met on. What more evidence does anyone need?

Thank you for contextualizing this song! Even after beating the game, I didn't fully grasp the entire meaning of the song. I kept feeling like I resonated with "Hollow" better from part 1. Besides, the song is clearly addressed at Cloud considering the look she gives him at the "until I met you" bit in Gold Saucer. And Zack and Aerith's relationship wasn't fleshed out in the first 2 remake games, so it's pretty obvious which 2 characters the creators want the audience to think about. Edit: the creators, confirmed "Hollow" is a song from Cloud's perspective and NPTK is Aerith's response to Cloud. Also, an, instrumental version can be heard during their date in the "dream/lifestream world". Btw, in the church scene where they separate, they said it'd be nice to meet in another of their "places" next time. And as you pointed out, when they first met, Aerith gave him a flower that lovers used to give when they were reunited (probably because she knew what was to come and what they would mean to each other, so meeting Cloud there was kind of a "reunion" for her). I'm imagining world "X" Aerith selling flowers at the same street where they met, and Cloud finding her there, and handing out to her one of those flowers this time. Please Nomura, make it happen.

@@francisco24slb1 yeah, that would be good...unfortunately I read a new theory and it covers pretty much everything. According to them, Aerith is dead and the other worlds are just a conjunction of memories, dreams and desires that the souls of the deceased encounter on the lifestream, before blending with it. So to say, the worlds where Zack is are purgatories where the dead take care of their "Unfinished business" before moving on. So if Cloud and Aerith ever meet again, it could only happen here, or once he dies. Pretty depressing tbh, and it looks like all that changing fate stuff was for nothing in the end. If you want to see the theory it's in r/FFVIIRemake, starts with "our explanation...". Very f*cked up.

Something just occurred to me watching this again... Cloud and Aerith do 'meet again on their street' in Remake. That is if you buy into the idea that OG already happened and these games are a continuation.

I was always a Clifa fan but honestly after this part in ff7 rebirth i just want them both to get Cloud and be happy 😢

Ich hab Rotz und Wasser geheult. Das Spiel nimmt mich emotional total mit. Bin total fertig gestern in der vergessenen Stadt angekommen und musste erstmal aus machen, weil ich erstmal alles verarbeiten musst. 🙄🙈

She will be in the 3 part. Devs already told that 3 part will be different than OG. And remember in one timeline Cloud saved Aerith.

Ok… I am 48, married, with 2 teenagers. I played original FF7, I love FF7 Remake and more Rebirth which is an incredible huge journey. Now, I feel tears in my eyes after watching this. And I don’t feel ashamed at all 😉. Ok… Thank you for the video 👍.

From a gameplay perspective, the fuck am I gonna do without arcane ward if she’s not with us. I had a pretty fucked up setup with her by equipping synergy and comet materia, and having her stand on arcane ward. If I used an ability she would cast comet for no MP or ATB, then double cast it from being on the ward? Give her back square you can’t make me play the game fair! 🥺

I went through hard mode only because of Aerith, no one will able to replace her. Her best limit break Great Gospel is not shown yet, the best limit for fighting weapons. If shes not there, the third part hard mode are gonna be hell😢

Don’t know how, besides simply assuming that. Nothing indicates it is, and I’ve yet to hear or see anything to convince me otherwise. This is near the end of the game, Aerith is fully aware of who and what she is singing about, so if it was Zack she was singing about, or if it was him she wanted to be with, the lyrics would reflect that. But they don’t. The lyrics clearly detail how and where CA met. She looks slightly at Cloud during the song after saying “until I met you” regardless of where the other’s are. The singer and composer have confirmed its a love song about CA. The play she performed during is called Loveless, which is the same name as the street CA met on. A few lyrics from “Hollow” can even connect to “No Promises to Keep” so how much more evidence does anyone need?

@@theirbrotherhoodandfriends6101 Yes that is true, and the only person Aerith met on a street, was Cloud. The beginning, middle, and end lyrics of the song are tied specifically to their meeting. Even in the Japanese version that’s true, despite the differences. 1. In English she mentions walking cobblestone streets etc, which are only found on the plates, a place she never met or went with Zack. In Japanese she mentions her/things being rushed by busy footsteps, and I don’t think Sector 5 is that busy, let alone rushed. But on the plates things are very busy. 2. In English she says till the day we meet again on our street, which can only be Loveless street where CA met. While in Japanese she says she wants to see him again, by chance on that road. Road and street are the same thing, and she never met anyone on one except for Cloud. 3. In English she says till the day we meet again, at our place, which could refer to Loveless street or the church, but I think the former since it matches the Japanese one. In Japanese she says I wonder if we’ll meet again, by chance on that corner. Which can only refer to the corner of Loveless. 4. In English she says walking cobblestone streets, struggling against the crowds and finding ourselves all alone. Aerith was running from whispers and Jenova/Sephiroth, and was being ignored by the crowd and bumping into them. While Cloud was trying to get to the station, but kept getting hindered by roadblocks and people. Then they found themselves alone together. Or it could mean that they found themselves alone individually because of the whispers and people ignoring Aerith in her case, and being separated from the group and getting hindered by roadblocks and people in Cloud’s case. In Japanese she says if we get swept away by the crowd in the town where we met, and get separated, neither fate nor promises will help us. ZA never had any crowds or problems in their way before they met, so it can only be about CA as they did. And on top of these CA specific lyrics, you have the fact the singer herself said she wanted to depict CA’s relationship, when asked about the song. Then there’s the devs programming Aerith to look at Cloud during the song. Plus the theme song page on the official Japanese Square site has CA on their date in the background. And finally, the theme song plays in the background of CA’s date at the end. I know Nojima has said in the recent interview that the song is about everyone, but i think he’s either on damage control because of unhinged Cloti’s, or is actually telling the truth but has done a very poor job in illustrating the intent of the song. Since in the countless comments I’ve read about the song, most, if not all, have said they think it’s about CA, while a few say ZA. The lyrics don’t relate to everyone, at least I don’t see it. But even so, the majority of the song sounds like it’s about CA regardless of some parts apparently being about everyone else.
