“We aim to show you how to grapple, not just jiu jitsu techniques.” 💙
Great presentation for learning. The voice-over describing the techniques in motion is *such* a superior method to trying to talk through techniques/concepts in piecemeal; and 90% of the time when done that way, the technique never ends up actually being shown as it's meant to be performed in action. Thanks for taking the time to make this.

Thank you! I knew I had to innovate if I wanted my channel to go somewhere. I'm glad the format is being so well received. I appreciate the kind words so much. Thank you for watching!

@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu Not only the voiceover work, but seeing full speed movement in slow motion is super important, because you get to see how things work when there is momentum. Just doing movements slowly oftentimes doesn't work very well for demonstration, because momentum is needed to flow through. Great didactic skills on your channel!

Wow everything covered in this video alone could easily take even an experienced grappler months to digest. I especially appreciated the last 30 seconds of etiquette, not enough people touch on this. Super glad I stumbled across this channel, keep up the great work!

Yeah seriously. 4th week of doing jiu Jitsu and trying to get my closed guard game on point. This is my 5th time watching this video
Really enjoy the format in that it focuses on a specific position (such as closed guard) rather than just a specific technique. And showing both gi and no-gi variations is very helpful too. So glad I found this channel. Thank you Jordan and Nikki!

Yeah, very useful (I'm a white belt)! A similar one for side control would be awesome: I cannot understand what I do wrong, both when controlling and when escaping :-)

One more idea for videos (as a white belt): what grips/hooks (and combos) are most important during guard retention and pass, and their counters. Very few videos on the topic, which is probably not very cool but absolutely life or death during sparring, as you've pointed out in several clips 👍
The calm voice & music makes this like a Bob Ross jiu jitsu lesson. Great videos.

Thank you very much, this is one of the best BJJ videos I have seen so far (I'm a beginner) - so excited to have discovered your channel :)
Super awesome content. Thank you
I remember watching this video when it first came out as a white belt and picking up tips and pointers from it. I came back to this vid and it's only reinforced everything I've been learning. Awesome content! Oss

Incredible! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Wow I just left a comment on your rolling video, man this is great! Please keep doing this, pure gold!
This is gold for a noob like me.... makes a lot of the options or back up plans much more clear than a single drill and speaking towards the thinking behind it is eye opening
Three things I’ve learned from your vids that has made a huge difference as a new white belt are hands off the mat, elbows tight and t-Rex arms. Enjoy the channel thx man

This is just the right amount of detail and narrated instruction seems to mirror my actual thought process when live rolling much more than 'breaking it down' with step-by-step instruction. As a white belt a couple of years in, I sometimes get overwhelmed by instructional videos yet really need the instruction. I can't believe this is free. Subscribed!
Bro. Love your videos. So easy to follow as a newer white belt. I literally watch your content while working on my grappling dummy right before class, to stay fresh before I get in the BJJ shark tank for class.
Watched this twice now. Learned a few things each time. Looking forward to more :)

So great all around. My brain remembered a couple tips from your video mid roll last week. It allowed me to escape a submission once and gain my first submission later on. The explanations and slow mo are super helpful. - new guy white belt, 9 or 10 sessions in.
This is so well documented. Thanks for the fantastic work!
