Another advantage about having Marte in the video is she gives accurate suggestions on what the viewers want to see, great video!

This has the same energy as when people put little socks on cats and suddenly they can't walk right ahaha! Super entertaining, and nice to see Magnus & Marte just vibing together again :-)

I have slightly broader feet in the middle part, and found Vapour V's extremely comfortable after breaking them in a bit (which only took about 2 sessions!). My best recommendation is to keep an eye out for boot demos in your area, where you can try on & climb in lots of different types & sizes that have already been broken in :-)

The veloce’s wear out quickly unfortunately, I have been wearing mine indoors and outdoors and after 4 months the rubber is wearing out, I have the la sportive solutions and i like them a lot but the veloces are comfy for sure

I mean I wouldn't do via ferrata without cycling gloves but dunno been only doing ,,real" climbing for two months so I can imagine my hands getting battlehardened for it, but rn I attend the climbing gym 1-2 times a week and my hands are completely destroyed every time, just took a longer 6 day break coz I got bleeding flappers the last time

@@fagyu7502 The gabbro on Skye is definitely glove territory. Wear them on the easy bits and scrambly approaches to save some skin for the climbs, especially if there for a week

I laughed but gloves without covering fingers completly can be awesome. No lost skin on the palm, no cuts on sharp rock like granite. But using tape on fingers is better.

You should do blindfolded climbing without seeing the routes and have marte try to coach you through it! Like the blind paraclimbers!

Haha this reminds me of a guide in the Lake District telling me a dude in the pub claimed he could do a route in boxing gloves and roller skates… and apparently actually did it!

Yup, Ray McHaffie on Little Chamonix at Shepherd's Crag (father of James McHaffie, one of the UK's best and most prolific climbers). There's also a video from a couple of years ago of Paul Ross repeating the feat at age 80.

Glove what you did with this video.

Marte always bring such great energy and good vibes whenever she's on. As a side note, I actually was going to do this same concept but with a brand spanking new climber versus an experienced one wearing gloves. You beat me to it.

The next time I see a man with gloves and socks at a boulder I now know he's a pro.

Dumb ideas are usually the most entertaining in a video sense so this is going to be fun

When I was young, I teached rock climbing in a summer camp. It was outside with childrens who never had climbed before from 6 to 16, depending of the group. It was almost always the same routes so it got a bit boring after a while. To change the routine and to make kids understand that it was not hard and they just had to to remember to breath and stay relax and to use their balance (no overhang at their level), I once climbed with a scuba diving mask, tuba and palms in my hands.

Well, recovering from a major knee surgery has prevented me from doing pretty much everything but physical therapy… but when I’m back on my A game, I just might try it again. I live near Boulder, Colorado where there are like 5 large rock climbing gyms.
