Take advice from the pros and be careful of your tendons for the first year. If you feel a twinge, stop. Watch other women climbing for style. Have fun.
As an experienced climber (and recently a climbing instructor at a local gym for me), this was nice to see some straightforward ways of explaining ways to use some of the harder holds.

Thanks Dean! Do let us know if you have any other questions :)
I turned 70 in March this year. I started climbing in July when my son suggested it might be fun. Still on level 1 & 2 so far. Jugs are definitely my favourite hold at the moment. Great tips, and very clear exolanations to help my progression to crimps, etc. Thank you. 👏👏

I am a late bloomer too, you will enjoy it and do what you can, in time you will get there.
I've been climbing like 4 times now and this makes me feel much more informed about the holds I've heard people mentioning
I just went to my first indoor rock climbing gym with friends. I've never climbed before, so I learned a lot very fast. I was able to get to a tough V1 with what I now know as a crimp I couldn't manage. I'll be back in the gym next week now that I know what to do!
Thanks for the tips. I'm 44 and weight 260 lbs. I've gone to the climbing gym twice now and I'm liking the challenge. There's always somebody there to strike up a conversation and give good climbing tips.
I'm bouldering and climbing indoors and outdoors for like 8 years now. I've seen a lot content on KZread and other platforms and it's always great to see someone new doing these kind of things. It's refreshing. Keep going with this great work. Really like your style💪🏻 And to answer your question 😉 Slopers and pinches, especially in a compression style problem Greetings from Germany ☺
Thanks so much for all the great content. I wish more gyms had the time and dedication to teach their craft like you all do. Keep up the amazing work and may God bless your efforts exponentially.
You guys have a really comprehensive and technical approach to climbing. Good job!
Perfect! … just now taking up the sport. Love the detail, brevity, and the fun thoroughness!
Thanks so much for this video. I'm new to climbing and hearing the terms and learning about their grips has been such a help.
Awesome video! I have been using too much full crimps and now I realize that they are a last resource gripping technique (for beginners at least)
I like the energy of you all! brilliant content and editing as well. Thanks :)
Awesome video! Very clear and concise. Also enjoy your sense of humor!
Really helpful. I just started in a local rock gym. SO MUCH FUN.
Super job. Thank you for the great explanations!
Great video! Thank you guys so much for making it. As someone who is starting out I feel much better going to my local gym next time.
Thank you both so so much for this video! This is a perfect breakdown on what to do for specific holds. Every new climber should check out this video!
I’ve never climbed in my life. Yet, I’ve had a desire to learn. Thanks for the useful and easy to follow video.
Slopers are the ultimate confidence killer. Great video!
the production value of the video is so high!!! thanks guys, really helpful video
I'm a complete beginner to climbing and my sis and I just started going to our local gym! This'll come in handy, ha. Thank you!
Super helpful as a refresher! Just started climbing and it’s very useful to have such clear outlines. Thank you

Great quality and super informative. Keep going and make sure to try and collaborate with other channels on yt and insta
I love your interpretation of the meaning of jugs, not what I’d use but I guess it works!
Great video, this was really helpful for me as I'm just getting started with bouldering and indoor climbing
1 minute in, love you guys allready and your attidude
Started climbing 2 months ago and I ALWAYS come back to this video so I know what I’m talking about
This was so helpful!! Thank you so much! This was especially useful for me as i started climbing about 3 months ago. I immediately had better luck with the routes i could barely start before🎉
thanks guys great video, I can now identify the different types of holds in my gym
Love the energy you two have!
Very informative! Can't wait to try your tips out
Loved the info and the passion!!!
I mean, my favorite hold has to be the jugs. Mostly because a jug is generally what you'll be grabbing when doing dynos, but also because of the weird looks I get when I'm discussing a route and say something like "it's got nice big jugs that you can really get a good grip on" in public. That all being said, I did develop a certain soft spot for crimps after climbing for a while.
Thank you so much, I enjoy bouldering, it’s great exercise and also a great atmosphere.
Love Michael's reactions and way of explaining. super cool dude
Thanks so much for the video! The tip about not using the full crimp is very important - I realised I was doing this a lot and straining my fingers without actually improving the strength in them much. I love your presentation and explanations!
Thanks guys! great video for newbies. Well presented
Best ever!, I would love more lessons, already subscribed!
Instantly subscribed. You two are super likeable, watchable people. Very useful video, thank you.
This is amazing! Thanks so much for the super friendly introduction.
Wow i stubbled onto your channel, great content and nice energy. keep up the good work. I started rock climbing recently by attending rock climbing school for sport , lead and trad climbing. But since i would like to do indoor climbing once or twice per week for practicing and improve my movement, for my rock climbing weekends, i find this video very educational :)

Badass video!! 🙏
Great video lads !
Ty for this Jensen and Michael
Thanks for the tips on how best to hold them. I find slopers the hardest, but will try your tips next time
You two are gems
Thank you I am a beginner and this helps a lot
so helpful!! thanks a lot
I live in a small town in tx and there are no gyms here but, on a trip to wisconsin it was a great experience to go to a gym when compared to a makeshift hill climbing thingy
Just in case anyone was wondering, when Micheal was counting with his fingers he made a 🤙 kind of gesture when he got to 6. This is because in Chinese culture they use that hand gesture to represent six, since it’s similar to the character for it.
Really like these videos and love the vibe of the channel

This is brilliant, i keep wondering what is the right way to do this , esp as I'm doing this alone, and no one to learn from
