Classroom conversations in Arabic! (Palestinian/Jordanian Arabic) Read more below:
In this mini video, you can hear 3 ways of asking for a pen in Arabic.
The word “tfaDDal” تفضّل can be used to mean: “here you go,” “go ahead,” “have a seat,” or “come in.”
If you are wondering why the ق is pronounced as an “a” in the case of قلم, this is because in the Levantine dialect, the ق is usually pronounced as an “a” (glottal stop) or “g” (depending on where you are). There is a longer video on the KZread channel explaining this in more detail. Just type in “School of Yalla the letter ق ” and you will find a longer video explaining this on the School of Yalla KZread channel 🎥
This type of Arabic falls under the Levantine dialect and would be understood by the majority of Arabic speakers in the Middle East.

Most Levantine dialects will pronounce أ instead of ق However there are some smaller groups within those countries (Syria, Palestine etc.) that will pronounce it or pronounce it as a G sound.) There are few exceptions where it is actually pronounced by everyone (like the capital of Egypt, everyone will say القاهرة .. and not "الأهرة")
