The word “tfaDDal” تفضّل can be used to mean: “here you go,” “go ahead,” “have a seat,” or “come in.”
If you are wondering why the ق is pronounced as an “a” in the case of قلم, this is because in the Levantine dialect, the ق is usually pronounced as an “a” (glottal stop) or “g” (depending on where you are).
