Globally, they're underrated but in Korea they're currently the second most relevant female group due to their growing popularity and great sales, as also evaluated by several CEO's in kpop industry. More than half of GFriend's listeners are the Korean general public then the rest are those dedicated Buddies. That's a great sign of being one of the biggest acts in kpop.

Yeah....I think gfriend's songs are made to be easy listened and that just doesn't do justice to some members's vocal ability....afterall 2 of their members advanced more round than some main vocal from other big group in king of masked singer competition....And recently yuju won 1st at fantastic duo....non knetz need to see that..

It's underrated in South Korea. K-Netz said the song and the concept is not suitable for GFriend because GFriend's image is Power Innocent Globally, The Awakening Album at number 5 on US World Album in April 2017

GFriend makes me strange and opposite feelings I like the fact that with 3 seconds I can recognize a song from them 'cause they have this unique style of instrumental I don't like that fact that with 3 seconds I can recognize a song from them 'cause I'd love them to try new styles of instrumental

Alex Gonzalez I agree with you. They even stated themselves that they'd like to try a concept similar to Gashina, but SouMu is the one who decides it anyways. And the girls clearly enjoyed recording Fingertip, wich was their most outstanding concept. I really want something different, they rock the girl crush concept.

For Summer Rain and Love Whisper, they sort of lose the high pitched guitar in the background and instead go for piano. Both them are amazing either way but you can tell they are slightly changing their sound every time they come out. It's unnoticeable if you haven't been their fan from the beginning but if you have been then it's possible to pick it up. I know you already have the two on the list but I think the three music videos are connected to each other. If you watch all three of them you'll notice there's a lot of butterflies and time related aspects (even with Navillera). Their concept is music that grows with them as they age: Navillera: All of the members have either reached adult hood or about to reach adult hood but none of them want to let go of being a child. Fingertip: They let go of their childishness, and like early adults, try to find themselves by experimenting. Love Whisper: They accept the fact that they're now adults but decide that they can still be children as adults. Thus the feeling of them going back to their old concept. Summer Rain: A song where they face hardships as adults despite thinking it would be fine. Though that's just my theory. But it sort of makes sense if you add the fact that their CEO has mentioned many times that they'll go with whatever fits the members image best during the time.

I'm glad that Love Whisper and Summer Rain made it to the list. I hope for Summer Rain, Umu will let them see the Choreography version instead, although the MV is aesthetically pleasing as well, its just that their Choreo for the song needs to be highlighted too, so that they will see how well it goes with the lyrics. Since the dance and the lyrics are well-attributed to the song itself but simply because Gfriend are known for that aspect as well. And it might make the reactors see a different side of this group more.

Wow I really love this channel for pointing out what's awesome in these songs. Some of them I just LIKE, but pointing out something as simple as how groovy that slap bass makes me love this song more.

In my opinion, last year they spent too much time talking about visuals. Not all the time, but in quite a few of the videos. Umu said it happened when the reactors were bored by the music. (I partially disagreed)! So her solution is to re-dedicate and prioritize musically interesting songs this year. Also I think she said she will try harder to focus the reactors to the music when they continuously go off topic. So far, so good! Personally I like their videos to be ~80/20% skewed to the music. I joined her Patreon channel to get more of the "non-music stuff" which I also enjoy in the more casual setting of the "unedited" videos.

Im glad you showed them Fingertip cause Korean fans didnt like it as much as international fans though I will say it took me a few listens to like the song. on one hand i really like this cos they were using words to describe their music that i had never heard of so its teaching me more about music and i love that, this never happens with reaction channels where i watch the reaction and get nothing out of it. on the other i was annoyed when they described the vocals as basic with the same harmonies and there was no outstanding vocalist but they were right in thinking that way. im just annoyed cos im a buddy who has heard yuju sing mariah carey and other songs that better showcase her vocals and that the title tracks dont really get to showcase how good their vocals actually are cos they use a lot of instrumentals and have to sing at a higher, similar pitch
