That time was actually insane to bully a 16 year old girl creating articles/posts, saying how she was the ugliest idol alive. Is that shit not insane to do to someone. It got so bad she would hide her face with her hair when performing. Wouldn’t look in the camera 😢 she never deserved any of that treatment. And then jooe from momoland got the same treatment it’s fucked up

GFriend started at the very bottom. The company was bankrupt and the CEO remortgaged his house just to pay for their debut Glass Bead. They trained in a dark, damp, windowless basement and they gatecrashed an office block across the street just to use their bathroom. SinB had to train the choreography to other members as the company couldn’t afford a permanent member of staff for that. SinB learnt the new choreography quickly from the teacher and then worked with the others to perfect their synchronisation. It is remarkable how successful they became and with no other artists at the company they became the sole reason their company became rich. So when they were ditched by Source Music, terminating their contracts 6 months early with little warning it was a slap in their faces. Unofficially it is believed that they were ditched so the company could give all their attention to the new group they were training and as you know, have now debuted. They wanted stay together for 15 years and they still support each other even now and see one another regularly. VIVIZ refuse to choose a leader as they say that they are still GFriend and Sowon will always be their leader as she was back then. My heart bleeds ❤❤❤for them and I feel their sadness.

The fact that you first presented it as a fact, 'they were ditched' and then only afterwards backtracked and said that its 'unofficially believed they were ditched', youre just spreading lies and misinformation. We dont know any of that. It could be that there were some members who wanted to get out, theres NO WAY for us to know. Trust me, as a fan, i was so devasdated when it all went down, but just blaming the company for it all, that just doesnt make sense. You make it seem like the group itself had nothing to say in this, and i dont believe that. Ether way, if it was due to some personal reasons, then were not really entitled to hear about those. So lets not go around spreading lies about the company who was one of the main providers of Gfriends career.

Also I don't see the point in defending source music since it's no longer it's own company - yes the original source music made GFRIEND but it goes both ways since they were the only group, so you could say the girls made the label a success.

If you reread the comment, ditched by the company is 100% fact, but the reason is debatable, so he/she said unofficially, which is referring to the reason why they were ditched. Also if you know how the contract of Gfriend is terminated, you cannot deny they were ditched. Even if the reason is personal, there is no reason for the company to 1) terminate ahead of the contract, 2) announce the termination abruptly, 3) No farewell performance, singles or events of any sort. So I am pretty sure ditched is not really wrong. So there were no lies or misinformation here, you don't make a mountain out of a molehill.

​@@metamon2704 I agree that's how business is but it still hurts to see a group who came from nothing and rose to the top be discarded so easily. However it's great to see them actually flourishing in their own paths today. Gfriend rose to the top with dedication, talent and luck making them staple names in Kpop. Viviz is doing the very same thing and it goes to show their formula for their success is no fluke.

Don't know if someone has mentioned this but fun fact: with the song 'Bop bop' Viviz is currently the fastest girl group to get 1st win on a music show in just 7 days (tied with ive). Viviz also broke the record for the fastest gg to get 2 wins on a mushow in just 8 days after debut (just a day after they got their first win)

hybe bought source music and disbanded gfriend out of nowhere, just like what happened to nu'est when hybe bought pledis. even the gfriend members were shocked by the announcement, as they had a lot of plans for the group and they were best friends who grew up together (they still besties). it was devastating for them and for the fandom. now we got the incredible viviz and the amazing soloists yerin and yuju (sowon isn't working as an idol at the moment), but the whole situation still bittersweet for the fans. im sooooooooo happy to watch you react to viviz and so excited for the gfriend content

if maniac had come out earlier, untie would have been in my top ten or top five songs of the year on my spotify wrapped. it's so damn good. i love viviz so much. i bought their lightstick even though the odds of me seeing them live are very slim. they're amazing. their choreo, well known to be top notch while in gfriend, only gets better and better as they hone their skills and put in the time and practice. their vocals are angelic and captivating. they are so skilled and hard working. they always bring something new with each comeback. and they all look so beautiful. everything really came together for these three girls when they redebuted and i'm so happy for them.

Finally Viviz 😭❤️ next Gfriend pls, miss them so much!!

Loveade is one of my favorite kpop songs of all time, and everybody else seems to think it's lackluster. But THAT INSTRUMENTAL, IT'S SO GOOD! And the chorus is so satisfying, I cry inside everytime someone passes it over as being boring and forgettable. (edit: I can understand the criticism of the high vocals in the last chorus sounding a bit strained, but for me it works here.)

As you got a taste of with Untie, the B sides are really good on their albums and this continues the legacy of GFriend whose albums are packed full of hidden gems that most people miss out on. Korea voted in 2020 that they had the best discography in Kpop beating their nearest rival handsomely scoring more than double the votes of the 2nd place group. Strings, electric guitars, piano and synths figure heavily matched with beautiful vocals and harmonies.

It was actually the GIRLS idea to do a performance video for untie after the company picked Maniac as the title track but the girls wanted Untie xD but they got a awesome performance video out of it so win win I say

This trio girl group full of talents....I really like the tone of their vocal, the visual and I must say not a surprise because this girls all a former girl group GFriend ...well known for the vocal, visual, music, synchronized dance and fun ... funny but strong and yet humble personality . Eunha has lot of Coleb. with other artists and Ost song in drama .

gfriend was probably the most in synk as far as choreo goes and i believe they were the ones that made 2x speed dances

The math truly isn't mathing with the subtitles ;-; They were only added for Untie after Kany (their choreographer for Maniac and Untie) talked to BPM about it. Bop Bop and Loveade have subtitles, but only on their 1theK uploads if I'm not mistaken. Na.Vs have been frustrated about this for a while, especially since it takes away from the full experience. Pull Up was different and has a rather "Don't mess with me" message that would've been great for the audience to read. Meanwhile, Maniac had sentimental lyrics that made Umji tear up. Neither of these have subtitles. Some of us have been trying to express our frustrations to BPM, but we're unsure as to whether or not it'll work. Anyways, greatly looking forward to your GFRIEND reactions and journey as well!

We're really thankful towards Kany, as she's been very vocal and receptive on social media. She's a great choreographer and energy for the girls to be around, and she interacts with Na.Vs as well. It should not have been her responsibility to request for subtitles, but she did anyways. Since BPM (from the beginning) has goals on expanding globally, I hope they're aware that they need to gain the trust and attention of international fans first and foremost. We've been asking for subtitles to music videos and other VIVIZ content for... a while.

The reason untie actually got subtitles by the company is because the video went viral and was viviz FIRST video to appear on KZread Trending worldwide chart and peaked in the Top 10. I hope this means there company bpm entertainment will be faster about putting English subtitles

The reason is actually because fans asked the choreographer (Kany) to talk to the company about getting the subtitles for the video. And thankfully, Kany really asked the company about that, and the company granted it.

I truly love their whole discography. One of my absolute favorite musical artists of any genre!

As a prelude to starting your journey with GFriend I highly recommend that you watch the video A Guide to GFriend 2020. It is really informative and great fun to watch as you see some of the member’s personalities and special talents as well as hearing how distinctive each of their vocals are. It will help you greatly later with trying to identify them when you watch their music videos and add to your enjoyment when reacting to them.

Pullup and Vanilla Sugar Killer from the VarioUS album are still my fav Viviz tracks, but Untie is definitely 3rd. Viviz actually wanted Untie to be the title, but the studio made them go with Maniac. Also they do have one more mv Rum Pum Pum where they are bejeweled royalty, so do check that ine out when you get a chance. Can't wait for you ti get into Gfriend too. You should also check out Yuju and Yerin's solo stuff. Yerin's Aria in particular is just so amazing! Enjoy your journey to becoming a Buddy.

You pronounced "Viviz" per English expectation (which is not wrong), however, you will find many more Kpop followers pronounce it as "vee-vee-jee". This corresponds more to Hangul, its native Korean way. As you discovered that Viviz produces good music, and doesn't limit its genre to a single trendy style, for its tracks. Pleasantly surprised to find how much you enjoyed "Loveade", since many unfortunately found it underwhelming. This song spotlights their special vocal and musical sensibility. I love its corky approach to its composition and choice to highlight the girls' high pitch sound but wished it could have attracted more attention from the public. Nevertheless, with each comeback, Viviz is really asserting itself to corner its own turf in Kpop now. "Maniac" and "Untie" are two thundering claims for their bright future. Disband the most talented group GFriend to create the most mediocre - le sserafim.

I’m so happy and excited that Maniac has brought more attention to Viviz, and SUPER happy to see Viviz get some newer K-pop fans interested in GFriend!!! I love them so much, they deserve all of the love and support. 💕

Gfriend's disbandment was extremely unexpected to both fans and the members themselves. Many people speculated that it was so Source Music could focus all their time, energy and money on Le Sserafim, which was one of the reasons why Le Sserafim's debut was so controversial and they received hate for it. I mean, the fans' anger was justified but the girls were innocent. It was Source Music and Hybe that was at fault for making such a decision. Luckily, even though Gfriend are no longer together, they are all still very close to each other. One of the sweetest things Viviz has said during their redebut days was that they wouldn't choose a leader because Sowon would always be their leader. I hope you check out some of Gfriend's biggest hits like Me Gustas Tu, Time of the Moon Night, Summer Rain, Apple and Mago, just to name a few.

OMG!!! You finally reacted to 3/6 Gfriend. Which is VIVIZ. haha... Anyway, VIVIZ (pronounced as BiBiji, came from EunBI, which is Eunha and SinB's real name, and UmJI, which is just from Umji's stage name). Eunha (pronounced as Unha) - means galaxy Sinb (as Shinbi) - means mystery Umji - means thumb in korea. as far as I've know, it's kind came from Thumbelina, its a disney movie. All of their songs are good and very much underrated. Though their latest comeback, Maniac and Untie are getting a well deserved acknowledgement not only by the fans but in general audiences and listeners. Thanks for reacting to them.

Source music was it's own company and was bought by HYBE fairly recently like a year or two before they disbanded GFRIEND, as far as I know GFRIEND basically was Source music I'm not aware that they had any other artists - anyway I'm still mad they didn't want to make a new deal for them.
