Mechanics do be mechanics, it's a fun time to mess with the numbers. I am really interested in the fact that they didn't cap it at a -90 or -95% reduction like they did for a number of things in EU4, but they probably expected that nobody would ever bother stacking stuff like this.

I guess the reason is that they thought (correctly) that people would focus more on "winning more" instead of "losing less". There are hundreds of guides on how to create invincible armies of space marines with god like rulers and knights but this is the first time i see a strategy centered around grinding your opponent while you are losing.

Thanks. This was wonderful and funny video. I just want to add something that I view as downside of this strategy. It would be very unreliable even at difficult starts as it is dependent on very specific traits, perks and traditions. As beautiful as immortal troops seem. They still need to get paid. The reason why I wouldn't go for this strategy is that it just seems to prolong wars that can be won faster with other strategies - if you are outnumbered just get yourself some allies. Just as one addition to the cons of otherwise very funny and interesting mechanic.

if you get lucky there is an also event that gives you another -25% I'd say this isn't a viable option, simply because of the unyielding defender trait. Unless someone knows a way to reliably get it after you die because once you die it seems like the party is over. In my playthrough I got attacked by everyone strong around me, then got murdered once I won the defensive wars (they were long and grueling wars) but after being attacked by france and a few strong countries in Iberia, I was murdered, then I had to play my son. I could solidfy my power with the 800 gold coins i got to buy mercenaries which I used to take the titles from my siblings/vassals. But at that point, I'd lost the trait and perks, I had no money/prestiege to do anything unless I afk'd for a few years. So although this strategy seems broken, it takes quite a bit of luck to actually pull off and is quite hard to tell if you will get stack wiped or not. I attack 6k stack with my 1.6k stack I'm fine, but if they had 8k I'd be stack wiped, so isn't entirely reliable unless you're super careful with who you pick fights with (but again due to location you may be put on the defensive)

So, hmm, how do you counter this then? Three ways, that I can think of, I believe. 1) Siege racing. The battles don't matter if you control the territory, and have ticking war score. Of course, it'll be a bitch to prevent them from resieging, but still possible. 2) As pointed out in the video, attrition still takes them. Just lead them on a merry chase. 3) Stack perks similarly to the tactic, but to maximize enemy casualties. While watching, I thought you could just overhwelm them in troops, not caring about losses, but since apparently you don't get war score without enemy casualties, this won't work.
