Another Civil War in the US is not likely. Still, it could get close enough considering the current state of affairs. We can view this film as a cautionary tale. An actual civil war here would be far more horrific than this movie.

I think it is very likely depending on the elections and if Trump goes to prison. It’ll anger a lot of people, but yeah another American Civil War would be very devastating if I were you I’d stack up on supplies just incase.

It's my favourite movie of the year. Probably the best audio experience I've ever had in a theatre.

Just in case you didn’t know, every state has Air and Army National Guard who follow the state, they have their own arms, gear, vehicles. Not hard to believe that the Western Forces (19 states; including California, Texas, Florida, IE) would have the assets that they do. Not to mention the active duty components and local militias that would join the WF

To add to the comment about Greenland, during his presidency, Trump had expressed interest to sell the US territory of Puerto Rico to buy Greenland after Puerto Rice was devastated by Hurricane Maria.

This movie really gave me a very weird feeling in my stomach. I'm not even American, but to see this kind of scenario play out in this not-too-fictional US, where the rule of law has clearly collapsed and all sides are gleafully commiting war crimes was sickening. I hope this movie can be a reminder for those throwing around terms like "civil war" casually, what happens when societies collapse, what the horror of war really looks like. I think that's why it was clever to not go into the details of the situation unfolding in the movie, because it was never about that. It was hinted at that this fictional president had done some nasty things, but were those "liberators" any better? Executing unarmed staff, not giving the man, whatever he did, a trial. I think whoever won this war didn't matter, the country was already destroyed. And this kind of thing happens all over the world, it's just happening in societies that are not "western". Great reaction! 🙂

This movie will seem like a documentary if the MAGA cult were allowed to have it's way.
