Mr. Duck is the V.I.P. of this reaction. He didn't flinch and he comforted Skull all the way through.
hold tight to that duck.
Back in high school in the 90s I thought this was a great movie to bring to Earth Science as a film about black holes. I was wrong and my teacher was NOT happy halfway through.
Theres plenty of missing material from this versio. Alot of backgrounds of the character if I remember right. Deleted scenes of the film Event Horizon were found in a Transylvania salt mine. However, they were in such poor condition, they were unusable.
The two of you bring a good perspective to your reactions. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I’m so glad you had a protective bird to hide behind during the scary/gory parts! 🦆🫂 I first saw this after it was out of theaters but it was just recently available for rent and had a teddy bear to seek out for post-Event Horizon comforting. 🐻🤗🐔
"Vacate! I want off this ship!" "You can't leave. She won't let you." "You just get your gear and get back on the Lewis and Clark, Doctor, or you'll find yourself walkin' home." "I am home." Fun Fact: The rotational shot of the space station over Earth took nearly a third of the film's visual effects budget. Casting Notes Fact: Joely Richardson's character was originally written for a man. However, during auditions, director Paul W.S. Anderson had the part read by both men and women. He chose Richardson because of the "British Stage Class" that she would bring to the movie. Costume Fact: Writer Philip Eisner visited the set while the space suit sequences were being filmed. The suits were so heavy that the actors risked back injuries, prompting Laurence Fishburne to stop between takes, point at Eisner, and shout mock-angrily: "You! You Eisner! You did this to me!" Scientific Fact: The Event Horizon was named after the theoretical boundary surrounding a black hole, within which gravitational attraction is so great that nothing, not even radiation, can escape because the escape velocity is greater than the speed of light. Technically, it is where the physical universe ends and physical laws no longer apply. So the ship's name is symbolic for its journey beyond the borders of the known universe.
This is a great sci-fi horror film. Sunshine and Pandorum are also good watches!!!
Love your reactions. For some more Sam Niells horror, I recommend “In the Mouth of Madness” 🙂

And Omen III: The Final Conflict.
From Paul Anderson's filmography i'd suggest his movie immediately after this called "Soldier."

"Soldier" is an excellent movie and takes place in the Blade Runner universe.
Ducking! and diving!....✌️❤️❤️!.
the unofficial Warhammer 40K prequel ;)
Saw this movie on TV when I was like 10 and it scared the shit out of me lol Eventually became one of my guilty pleasures. It's so close to being great. First time on your channel btw, really appreciated the reaction. Subbed

As I understand it, the director's cut was much darker and gorier, but the studio forced this cut (which is still fun, but, as you say, is almost really amazing). The cut scenes degraded beyond use in storage before the cult status of the film might have justified a "director's cut" release, so it's one of the "might have beens" of more-recent cinematic history.
A very unsettling film! I felt like I needed to take a hot shower after watching it! I do not wish a repeat viewing! The Event Horizon was in the shape of a crucifix.

Close. Anderson was inspired by Warhammer 40K (among other things) and was inspired by their warp travel and the Imperium of Man's gothic cathedral inspired ships. Cathedrals are often laid out in a cruciform footprint.
i love lovecraftian horror
watch hellraiser from 1987😊
love it :) keep it up :)
It was almost a brilliant movie but it is still a cult classic. The studio forced the director to butcher the cut, maybe for the better because that much gore might ruin the rule that less is more. Imagination is always better.
