I have a 7.25 inch wrist and wear their promaster BN0150-10E which is listed as a 44mm case -- but wears smaller. I like citizen because their bezels slant downward ---from the crystal to the bezel end, while Seiko usually are flat or angled down slightly from the outermost edge---TO the crystal.--with the outermost bezel being the highest point. Citizens like orient slant downward. This is been my observation, and this makes them seem smaller to me because they linda of "melt" into the wrist versus looking like a hockey puck.

For anyone on the fence about these FUGU Promaster divers I can tell you these are fantastic.I have the Batman example and my wrist is 6.75 inches.these do not wear big at all,and along with a Kanji day wheel,Sapphie Xstal,substantial knurled crown,and that colorful bezel insert these make great daily drivers.currently wear mine in a rotation with a Seiko grenade king turtle,SKX009,and a shark tooth alpinist.nice review Rob.

I have the older version and it’s simply awesome. I would buy this if I didn’t already have the Fugu

The newer pro master green bezel black dial started the new quality in 2021. It’s been an amazing run for the pro master series.. fantastic divers

What?? 44mm watches that wear like 40/42mm watches are NOT oversized. You small wrist guys have so many options in the 38-42mm range! I have an 8.5" wrist and 44mm watches look mid-size on me. My 42mm NY0040 looks like a ladies watch when I wear it! My ideal size is 46-48mm but there is not a lot of.choice in that size range.

Just got the NY0130 black & yellow Pufferfish. I bought the Island Watch bracelet (BRAC-70) for it, which is on sale now for $59. Great watch, I love it! And the oyster style bracelet really makes it. Oh, I got mine on ebay, factory refurbished, for $202. Not a mark on it. Full warranty.

No longer buy Seiko, I am a Citizen person now. Love the size and sapphire.

Love it. I have the old ny0040 with mineral crystal and no hacking. (My wedding watch). Great to see these upgrades, and the minimal design changes.

Great Looking Watch!

I researched a lot of divers up to $500 and this one won hands down. 1- It is Made In Japan vs competitors that are Made / Assembled in some other place. Not a big issue but if I’m going to going to have just 1 citizen and spend between $300 and $400 I want a Made In Japan one for heritage’s sake. 2- Automatic movement. Again not a deal breaker if it ain’t but when I think classic diver watch, Automatic movements are the first to come to mind. 3- Sapphire Crystal. I much prefer Sapphire crystal and having it in other watches, I have experienced myself how much better scratch resistant they are. 4- Warranty and Service Centers. Where I am at I have them readily available and I even had a 15 years old Eco Drive from my wife serviced and restored to like new. They even replaced missing decorative stone jewels in it. It was a little expensive since it was not under warranty, but my wife was abled to resuscitate a watch that had a lot of sentimental value to her.

I might have upgraded my old non hacking model if they had kept the dimensions the same. Cool watch for a larger wrist 👍

This is a nice looking watch. I was looking for a diver from Citizen that's a bit more "office" appropriate (bracelet and more shine) and I just bought the NY0140-80e for $300 US. The only complaint is the 8204 is giving me +20 seconds a day which is still within spec but was hoping for better. I get a wobble every so often.from the rotor, no stutter from the seconds hand.

I got this exact model last week. It was +18 out the box. It is down to +10 a few days later. I have had more than a few auto's Swiss,Japanese and this is disappointing. I guess better running fast than slow. Hope this watch settles after a month. And yes I have chronometer watches. I don't expect this Citizen to be as accurate. My oldest son has the Italian Citizen diver auto(almost the same as this one) and it's +2. I do love this watch. A solid tank/beater. I have small wrists but flat. This watch doesn't look or feel to big for me. I don't do metal watch straps so this watch doesn't feel as heavy. And yes I can feel the rotar on this one moving.

Throw the 9series movement in there charge another 100

Jog on,there is no discernible difference in performance between the the 8 and 9 series, literally none,in fact my 8 series is more accurate than both my 9's

Modern does not mean better the 82xx series movements have been around since 1977 making servicing and repair easy.

I just got a red bezel Fugu. I wound it and, while setting it I advanced the hour and minutes past midnight, as usually. After passing the current time I re ersed the 5-10 minutes back you to the next minute. The second hand jolted backwards about 3 seconds. When I advanced again the second hand jumped ahead 3 seconds. It's like the movement is not firmly mounted in the case. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this common or should I return the watch?

movement aside, I like the old red NY0091-83E better, with gold color on the dial print and around the hands and markers look more like a Tudor Black Bay that cost way more..and it is almost 200$ less ...so I can live with the 60 click vs 120 and lesser crystal.

At the end of the video, you could had compared the lume, with that of the SKX and the King Turtle... 🙂

Citizen Europe have introduced a couple of iterations of this watch without the Fugu caseback (all other specs the same) for a much lower price. I picked up a blue dial/bezel version on strap for equivalent $220. They are great watches.

$550? I've just bought the new NY0141-10LE, which is basically the same watch with different looking markers for 238€. But anyway, a great piece and beats the Seiko for the money!

Is it possible to get a bracelet for this watch?

I am thinking of buying this or the green dial fugu. But what is the difference between this and the ny0141 which also has sapphire crystal ,8204 caliber, 44 mm and 120 click bezel … but has half the price of the fugu around 280€ in Europe. The only difference I saw is different crown and the fugu fish on the back

Love the watch…but why are Citizen’s Day / Dates so small? I literally have to use a magnifying glass to set my Citizens. Is it the text size? Or the smaller date window size? Other that the window size…its a great watch.

Why don't Citizen make eco drive diving watches with both day and date display? Does anyone know?

For that much $ I think it should have the premium miyota movement. I like it but for that price there better options like a nodus for under 500. I'm hoping they make a nodus retrospect with miyota making it thinner.

like he said Sapphire Crystal vs Hardlex Crystal ... harder to scratch but easier to crack when bang on things. 8204 vs 8203 movement. can stop the second hand when you pull out the screw... 120 click bezel vs 60, and some layer of glass or plastic on top of the alumnium bezel markers?..and the case is slighly bigger due to the movement change. and I heard deeper etching of the blow fish.

I guess I'm in the other 5%. As far as dive watches go, this one looks ok apart from it's size.

I think its a lovely dive watch but I wouldn't never buy it because of the crown position. I own the Citizen BN0150 which is EcoDrive and similar bezel and aesthetic that you have reviewed however mine has the Japanese market stainless bracelet with sliding micro adjust clasp and I describe the BN0150 as the SKX007 killer. I believe the BN0150 has better overall proportions to the watch being reviewed, ratio of face size to bezel diameter and thickness etc. The BN150 rivals the undeniable tool like beauty of the SKX down to metal versus shiny bezel insert but wins the day with the EcoDrive movement which is accurate, grab and go and never really needs servicing....aka rechargeable battery lasts a very long time. So to me, Citizen already made a better watch than this watch you are reviewing. But the dial is very nice on this watch but I can't get over the crown being at 8 o'clock as a right handed person.

That crown is where it should be when wearing a wetsuit. A normal crown pushes into the back of your hand when in extreme positions...

not everything is about accuracy that you don't care lossing that few second anyway. Not like you are a F1 driver. All the expensive watches are automatic because it's a art for mechanical watches vs 6$ quartz movements that is more accurate than a Rolex but worth nothing. I had eco- drive watches but it is a pain to store them when you have more than one and need to put it under light source all the time .

@@ayayoutuber 🙄. I want to fight every mechanical watch fanboy. I can’t stand the snobbery. Mechanical watches are not art! It is engineering. Just like Quartz and solar were a result of engineering. 🤦🏿‍♂️. You can’t even see the gears in 99% of mech watches. The dial styling, bezel, strap and case styling is art, not the guts. That’s engineering. Don’t Citizen watches have a 6 month power reserve? And you can put it in a watch box with a glass top to let in light.

Eco-drive all the way down, I don't understand the mechanical obsession but hey...at the end of the day whatever fits you better!

MAN! I don't know..... seiko rule the diver corner and Orient is the ugly sister. Citizen need a overhaul, great watches but I don't want one.

Very bad quality watch. No sapphire crystal, crown moving…nothing compare to a Orient in terms of quality built in the same price segment.

It’s for $246 USD plus tax at Macy’s. Is it worth it?
